    At 7:35 when I talk about pricing, I was referring to MSRP. It's occurred to me that the Corsair Node Pro is often on Amazon for $50 USD, so keep an eye out for that!

      These are much better in terms of performance and lighting modes. Also, the TT units make you hook up a box to each fan, so cable managing them kinda sucks. The TT are like $40 cheaper for a set of three, though.

    These new fans are a breath of fresh air. Also, it would be great if I could remove the light from the middle of the fan and just have the outer ring on. That way I don't have to switch out my Corsair controller for NZXT's Hue + for their nice outer ring fans.

    • @SeanOMatic
      @SeanOMatic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, with some of the modes, you can black the inner ring so only the outer works, right now. It shouldn't be hard for Corsair to implement a static mode that shuts off the inner or outer ring altogether. The limits of these fans are pretty much up to Corsair and how they want to program Link. They COULD do individual LED programming on each fan if they worked hard enough at the software.

    • @StalewindFarto

      TT has other software issues as well. That said, I would replace my SPs with the HDs not the LLs. The LLs look like a cross between the NZXT fans and Corsairs own SP 120s, and that is not something I like. The ring also give the fans a doughnut effect that lacks visual appeal to me (highly subjective!). TT fans are good looking, but so are the HD 120s, and as you said, Corsair link can be used with these making them my choice over the new LL 120 ring fans when I pull the old SP 120s.

    I've been planning to build a rgb cpu. One of the things I've been having a hard time deciding is whether to get tt riing plus or corsair hd and now included corsair ll. You got great reviews on them but you miss one thing. Please make a video comparing their lighting designs side by side. So it can help us see and decide which has better lighting designs. Thnx!

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a video where I go through all of their effects (using the same camera settings with no effects applied in post)! Putting them side by side might be a little tough, though. I'd need one or two computers to run each of their RGB software simultaneously, which means I'd need internal USB hubs for one or both machines, the cables would drive me insane, and then to get all the fans to fit in the camera frame, they'd have to be relatively close, and then I'd need to worry about the lighting from one fan conflicting with the lighting from another. If there's a huge demand for it, I'll look into trying it out, but otherwise, it's a lot of organization and preparation that I think is better represented one fan at a time, as to not overwhelm a viewer.

    The reason why I'm getting a pair of these is because I wanted to have a pink/purple ring around turquoise blades. I was planning on buying the NZXT fans, and spray painting the blades turquoise, using the LL120s will save on some time by having the inside LEDs set to turquoise while setting the outer LEDs to pink. The HD120s can't do that. Plus I hear various bad things about CAM software that NZXT forces people to use.

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +asdasda2355 Both fans look really nice, but I will admit, my experience with Corsair's software has been much smoother than my experience with CAM!

      Anything relevant and necessary! what about testing at 40dba at about 1m-1.5m distance? if you use all fans at 40 dba, you can see which fan performs most efficiently at fairly silent operation.

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +joris yauw I don't have a proper sound meter yet, but the fans are really quiet compared to every other fan I've ever tested! The microphone was three or four inches away from the fans in this video!

    • @Zoranurai13
      @Zoranurai13 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need for a proper sound meter, it's just a factor of consistency, if you use the one you use now and keep the bar around the same level it should be fine :D either way, a sound meter will probably set you back around $15-25 but will increase reliability by a lot!

    • @springloll7906
      @springloll7906 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have any issues with it so far. In my fractal r4 case i have a 120 aero as an exhaust, and attached to the top is the radiator for my nzxt x52 with aero rgb fans. So far, no rattling. Maybe you need to screw them in a bit tighter or actually even loosen them a bit more. I've noticed that sometimes rattling happens because one corner of the fan is screwed in to tightly. If the fan makes odd noise when its outside of the case, you could contact nzxt support, they're pretty fast in responding. Use their discord.

    Great video. I'm thinking about upgrading my case & cooling system. Currently have some low-grade case, a Corsair H60, and some blue LED fans. I'm thinking about getting an NZXT 340S Elite case, a Corsair H115i, and my final decision is what fans I want to get... Part of me says go with the Kraken instead of the H115s and get the NZXT fans to keep the entire thing NZXT, but on the other hand I already have a Corsair CS850M and Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR in my build. I like the Corsair lighting better than the NZXT, but having to get a Commander and still use the Node irritates me.

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't necessarily need the Commander, but it certainly helps. My personal approach to building computers is to do what looks good and worry about the mess later (software, cables, and all!), so I'm not sure if that helps you any! I use a handful of different software solutions to coordinate my lighting, and it is a pain in the ass, but I feel like the aesthetic result is worth it!

    Can you mix and match HD SP and LL together also which ones do you think are the best for a radiator and which ones do you prefer overall?

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can have them mixed in a system, but they cannot share the same lighting hub, so each type of fan will require its own channel. In my testing, the HD fans seem to be a little better for radiators, but I prefer the LL fans because I like their appearance more. The slight performance hit is worth the aesthetic gain in my opinion.

    I'm planning on buying the H100i RGB Platinum. But I want to buy RGB fans to pair with the fans on this AIO (as in: connecting RGB effects in iCue like you see in all those nice builds).
    I need one airflow optimized fan for the front (as I am going to mount the AIO radiator and the (included) ML120 RGB fans to the front) and two airflow optimized fans for the back of my case (one in the rear and one on top).
    As I only have space for one 120mm fan on the top of my case, I want one fan there and I can not mount my AIO radiator there. That's why I'm going to mount the radiator in the front.
    As the ML120 PRO RGB fans are static pressure fans (so optimized for radiators and tight spaces, only applicable for me for the AIO radiator itself) I need in total 3 airflow optimized RGB corsair fans that will match the ML120's on the H100i RGB Platinum.
    Because I need airflow optimized fans, I do not want to buy more ML120's as they're static pressure fans.
    Any suggestions on airflow optimized RGB fans that'll match the ML120's on my H100i RGB Platinum?
    I know Corsair has their AF line-up of airflow fans, but they're not RGB.
    I do not know what the LL series do? Are they airflow fans? Or static pressure?
    Does it matter if I would mount the static pressure ML120 fans as exhaust fans? Or doesn't it matter THAT much because the ML120's have better performance then the LL120's?
    Should I go for the LL120 RGB fans? Or something else?
    Also, if I would f.a. buy the H100i RGB Platinum and 3 LL (or ML) fans with a lighting hub/lighting node pro. Do I have to plug the ML fans of the H100i into that hub along with the other 3 fans?
    Or do they connect seperately into the H100i and can I choose whatever fans I want as they have their own hub? (I've read on some compatibility issue between different fan types and their hubs).
    I could not find anything about the airflow/static pressure subject on these two fans. I already know that the LL fans have worse performance but look better but hen again, the ML fans are for radiators and are the LL fans meant for cases and are they good enough?
    All in all, a whole story. If you read this far, I appreciate it and if you would help me decide, you'd help me even more! Thank you in advance!

      Well yeah, but that has been a request ever since Corsair released their K70 RGB keyboard a few years back. Already back then, people wrote their own software to enable music-sync with their keyboards. That is why I don't know why Corsair doesn't have this as default on their new software.

      I recently bought the Thermaltake View 71 TG case, and I am looking into watercooling. I'll need 10 fans (3 120mm, 7 140mm). I like diffusers, so the light isn't harsh. I was looking into the Thermaltake Riing fans first, but these seem interesting too. Which one would you pick?

    • @SkinUpMonkey

      +Zombysz I personally value smoother animations over more effects. Thermaltake offers individually lit LEDs and some interesting lighting patterns, but I would definitely go for the Corsair LL fans due to their animation execution.

    Hi Mate, I really love your vids... you actually get a very thorough explanation of the products, keep up the good work.
    Excuse my ignorance I'm a complete amateur but just have a few questions if you could possibly help out...
    My case is a Corsair Carbide 540 white
    1). noticed this week while trying to decide what to get and maybe Ive missed them before but there's a corsair ML series that are a bit more expensive... whats the difference between them and the LL ones?
    2). Planning to buy an h115i cooler or the h110i much difference and what is better do you think? also buying 3x120mm & 1x140mm fans as well as a lighting node pro. - Do I need a commander controller to run all these or can I just use the node controllers they come with? however the single 140 doesn't come with one. I'll only be using one of the ports for the led strip as I'm just going to chain them all together.. so can I plug the 140 fan into the spare port on the strip node port? What is the benefit of the commander as opposed to separate nodes apart from looking a bit messier.
    Sorry for the 20 questions and many thanks for any help,.Cheers.

      +BooDeluxe Fashion Store Hello!
      1: The Corsair ML series fans use Magnetic Levitation bearings. This makes them really quiet compared to other fans. I haven't gotten the chance to play with them, so I can't necessarily day if it's worth it or not, though.
      2: The H110i and H115i are incredibly similar in terms of performance. I would go for whatever you can find for cheaper. You can run up to five of the same type of fan on one channel so the Node they come with will be fine for those fans and up to four LED strips. As for the rest of your questions regarding the Commander Pro, I have a separate video on that ;)

    Those fans are pretty cool!
    I got the SP120 RGB and 570X case, which kind of cut down the cost of the fans for me since the controller for them is included in the case. I got 6 of the fans plugged into the NZXT Grid+ V2.... I just absolutely love the way the SP120 RGB look, with the LEDs in the middle. The fans kind of remind me of HAL 9000, which is why i dubbed my PC "Crystal Hal".
    What kind of makes the LL fans unattractive to me is the fact that I'd have to get the commander or the Node for them to work. The Commander is somewhat attractive since I have an H100i GTX and AX860i, that would kind of make it easier for me to get rid of cable clutter but then again, I'm gonna be switching to the NZXT Kraken X52 soon...
    I'd love to get the LL fans, but the cost of switching would just be too high and it probably would kind of make my Grid+ V2 obsolete... Plus yeah visuals are more important to me than 1 or 2 °c but I'd love to have a more pressure oriented version of those...
    Oh yeah and price. Around $200 USD for a bit more LED and slightly less cooling performance compared to my current SP120 fans... I think I'll pass for now. Maybe I'll switch sometime later down the road but for now, nah thanks.

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep my Kraken cooler plugged into my Commander Pro! As someone who's got his case stuffed with a lot of everything, the Commander Pro is really nice to have around (though, cables are a nightmare when you combine it with Corsair's fans). But yes, the Commander Pro would replace your Grid+ fan controller, since it's got one built into itself, and it would definitely be a costly replacement. The SP fans are great, no need to swap unless you really like that outer ring!

  • @t1m3todance
    @t1m3todance 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey! First of all, awesome videos! Secondly, do you have any recommendations for cable management? There are sooo many, and it’s becoming a nightmare for six fans! I’m worried about the back cover fitting right. We also are concerned about the hub placement, do most people try to place this in the back? Anyway any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've got a video on cable management, though, it's a bit older! For managing all these fans and LED strips, it can be a bit tougher. I've gotten lazy to the point where stuffing things in the basement is my go-to, but if that's not an option, the Commander Pro, Node Pro, and the lighting hub for the fans can all fit between the motherboard tray and the rear panel (for all the cases I've worked in, at least), but cable routing will be tougher, since you can't really move cables over them (potential clearance issues). I'd recommend placing the hubs somewhere close to the middle of the motherboard tray if possible, since having fans in the front and back of your case may limit your options due to cable length. Aside from that, I'd just try to plan things out and use twist ties to help hold things in place. Good luck!

    • @ALittleDIMM
      @ALittleDIMM  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Corentin Leman They cannot be used on the same lighting hub, but they can be used on the same controller! So if you use SP and LL fans, you would need at least two channels. The buttons on top of the 460X and 570X are replaced by a Commander Pro. That buttons cycle fan settings, but the Commander allows you to do it in software

      As soon as I can find a case that fits the bill, I'll slap this on the to-do list!

    I'm surprised by how they don't even seem to be superior to the SP series beyond their PWM power. Sure, they're quiet, but what I'm most excited about is the decrease in the Lighting Node Pro prices that will probably come out of this.

      +Sergio G Yes! Node Pros already seem to be a little cheaper on Amazon! At least, lower than MSRP!

    Eh, I like the looks of them, but if performance is slightly under the HDs and they require you to have a Node Pro, it's a pass from me. I'm broke anyways and not about to try and get six fans I don't need.
    Edit: I may have to try and pick up a node pro anyways, I didn't realize it gave the HDs more options.

      The Node Pro adds a bunch of neat effects! I've got videos that go through the HD RGB effects with the Node Pro, so if you can find it for cheap, it's not a bad idea!

    You should make a Video on how to Install them step by step with the Required Controller as I've heard from lots of People that u don't need to buy the Lighting Node pro Just the Commander Pro ONLY but with that being said if I do buy the Lightning node Pro how many do I need to buy to hook up all 6 fans?

      I believe I mention in the video that you only need a Node Pro or a Commander Pro, not both. Each channel on the Node or Commander supports up to six fans (one hub that supports six fans per channel - the hub is required). That means a Node or Commander can have up to twelve fans each, or up to six of two different kinds (you can't mix different fan models on the same fan hub). The installation process for each fan is the same, with the exception of the HD and SP fans, which don't require a Node or Commander, since they have a hardware switch (they can be software-controlled if you have a Node or Commander, though).
