*reads the third paragraph of the description* this looks absolutely beautiful for 240p Y-pb-br component over a capture card and it's just a hair under the quality of an emulator
@@Ballowax have you played the game? The toads are not as good in general, as they dont have the jump kick. Their animations to attack take longer too.
In the Genesis version, you're able to "dash jump", which allows you to do some of the trickery that you can do in the NES version. They're definitely playable in Genesis. In this version, anything that they're able to do, the Lee brothers can do better. They also don't have an aerial attack, the headbutt is worse, all of their attacks are slow to finish, etc. They just don't have good options for most of the situations this game presents.
@@TheSuperSNES Oh yeah I remember the dash jump technique from the original game. I never mastered that though. But yeah I do agree, especially after seeing this run, how much faster the Lee bros. are.
Okay, I have to know how you are firing so fast on level 4. Unless it's on turbo, there's no way I can fire that fast. I've tried using 2 buttons and nothing.
+Mega RetroMan Correct me if I'm wrong but this version of the game still has an on-screen bullet limit (possibly intentional?). Since the original game had this limitation with the game when played in co-op, perhaps they decided to implement it as a feature. Then again, I could be wrong :)
+Mega RetroMan Sorry, I didn't see this comment until now! Unfortunately, there is no secret technique or anything. I've just been slowly improving for a long time. My mashing used to be pretty average back in like 2008 (around 8-10 hits per second), but now it is slightly faster (around 11-13 hits per second). Some people like Mecha Richter are just naturally amazing at mashing (he can mash around 15 hits per second!), but I've had to slowly improve. If I use two buttons (like I do sometimes in this stage and in some other games), I can reach around 25-30 hits per second using both thumbs. It limits my mobility significantly, but if I don't need to move it works really well. In some games I can also use both thumbs on the same button and get some alternating rhythm, but it is super awkward and although I can sometimes reach 20-24 hits per second with that method, I usually only break even. Haha.
This is tool assisted. The asteroids level gives it away. I am the fastest button masher ive ever plaeyd with, and ive played a lot of mario party... There is no way both of you fired the gun that fast and smooth without a turbo button.
Sadly no. They are no good in this game. The Dragon twins have that extremely overpowered aerial kick, and their knee press allows them to dodge enemy attacks. The toads just can't do any of the tricks in this version. :(
Good run I'll never understand how they could take a game with music as awesome as Battletoads & DD on nes and have it become so boring. Still nice but boring
I grew up with Megadrive version so for me the NES version is like a crappy 8 bit step down for me. I much prefer the 16 bit music way more. Having said that, the NES gameplay is way better than the SNES version.... This version feels too stiff for a battletoads game
11:05 tennis ^^
Now that's the kind of quality speedrunning I like to see.
Love you guys.
GREEN [0] - YELLOW [1] - RED [2] - MAGENTA [3] - BLUE [4] - CYAN [5]
The music sounds better on snes version, but I loved the Nes version the most. More ost and special sound effects.
Great video!
100 PERCENT PURE SKILL
i know it's kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to stream new movies online ?
@Izaiah Ralph flixportal :)
@Kody Rowen Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it !
@Izaiah Ralph happy to help =)
I also was able to finish this game in 18:24 (eighteen months and twenty four days that is) great job guys, thanks for the memories
The co-op boss fights are amazing.
at 14:50 I was like "oh no! they got on fire!", I totally forgot it was PJ and MechaRichter, dem tactics
Same, that's one hell of a damage boost.
Love the way you guys play. Smooth run!
Awesome speedrun with the double dragon lee brothers
Oh Rare... I miss you so much, those old games were just awesome....

Очень хорошая игра , синхронная, слаженная команда, очень приятно было смотреть.
how. do you perform the knee kick? what buttons to press?
Dash + attack on any grounded enemy
Epilepsy Warning!!! 12:47
Jeez the whole room light up xD
the fire circle is an usual in stage 3 and I knew about the trick hiding in the corner in this stage at 10:43
DAT DARK QUEEN FIGHT
I have such a question on which synthesizers and in which programs was the music written for this game?
excellent teamwork you guys rock ;)
Что за Версия ?
would have been a 10/10 but you didnt do it with a battletoad and double dragon.
Only NES!
this seems less buggy :(
also why no toads?
Yeah, what makes the toads "unusable" and led to you guys using the dragons?
@@Ballowax have you played the game? The toads are not as good in general, as they dont have the jump kick. Their animations to attack take longer too.
Dark Queen got stomped out!by team 🐉 :D
What makes the Toads "unusable" in the SNES version like you said in the description? And are they like that in the Genesis version?

Nice; this game looks pretty sweet.
Cool
Such a great ost
Awesome run, SNES version is my favorite with the best music and level design..
NES version is 1000 times better
yeah but they tweaked the story a little, something the mega drive and game boy version never had to worry about

Just buy a SNES controller that allows the button to be switched to auto. Amazon sells them.
Back when RARE was the Shiiiiiiiiet!

That team
ропер чем то мне Шварца напомнил из командоса
Данная приставка не обладала таким звучанием музыки.. Явно наложили каверы сейчас
Sega best version

I made It to level 5
where's the commentary
Commentary isn't encoded with it yet.

Nice^-^
nes version more better then that
At steg 3 you kiiL your friend
😂🐢😎💎
Good run

My thoughts exactly, "Well, at least the music kicks ass :)"
The music itself was better for a system like the NES. The SNES's instruments just couldn't replicate it well.
Maybe it's because SNES version is the only one I played, so nostalgia, but I prefer the SNES version.
DogiTheWallcrusher I've always found the snes music to be the better of the two... That's just me.
I grew up with Megadrive version so for me the NES version is like a crappy 8 bit step down for me.

12:56 - I guess your tactic of "Fire so fast that it can't" doesn't work as well in the SNES version.
Кайфовая игра и очень сложная
