    i never align the crank, i just run the bolts down until they touch the carrier with an air ratchet and then use a hand ratchet to tighten them evenly and torque, I've never had an issue. Also if you have rockers out you should inspect the tips b/c this motor has a problem with them mushrooming

      +Troy Graham Thanks Troy! I've been working on vehicles my whole life. It's all fun to me, but when I run into things that make me scratch my head, I grapple it until I win and then try to share what I would have liked to know beforehand with others.

    The starter solenoid control wire is a single wire (Black connector) black and green wire near the right fender to crank the motor with the starter by applying battery voltage. It feeds into the same harness as the starter main battery cable.

    • @briansmobile1
      @briansmobile1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome. I think it's a matter of risk/reward with what it takes to get to them and the damage to the engine if they leak and you can't see it.

    • @USAF99
      @USAF99 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bulb end of them forms to the sealing surface of the injector, HPFR and HPFP through torque and Fuel Pressure. Once you take them off, you will never get them back the exact way you had em. They may not leak for weeks....but its a guarantee they will at some point. Since they are under your valve cover, easily replaceable while you're in there and compared to other parts on the 6.4, relatively cheap....its a good idea.

    I just rotate the motor and observe which cylinder has both intake and exhaust pushrods that are down (all valves closed) and torque down the rocker for that cylinder. No need to be fancy

    any easy way to install/remove ball joint on a corolla 2006 thx

    • @briansmobile1
      @briansmobile1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jirojoseph esman Separate the ball joint stud first- then the two nuts underneath- then the bolt. Assemble in reverse order. If you pull the bottom bolt first, the rocks under pressure and binds. Don't be shy to have a prybar handy and use it if you mess up the order. The goal is to keep bolts straight with the holes while in transit to prevent binding.

    Brian, any tips to clearing air out of the lines after replacing the injectors? Does the HPFP force it out fine? Other question is any one start the engine with the valve covers off and check for fuel leaks in the lines? Seems like a worthy step before closing everything up

    Im still having trouble understanding and I've watched the video twice. So, you spin the crankshaft to 10:30 so cylinder #3 intake is open so and then torque 1,2,7,8 to 45 ft lbs at the same time? Then spin it 360 degrees so #8 intake is open and torque 3,4,5, and 6 at the same time or are you suppose to torque each cylinder individually when the intake is open?
    I'm one of those people who have to see it done to actually understand, thats why Im asking.
    What I learned: Don't buy a 6.0 or 6.4 Ford diesel. lol

    My 2008 F350 has a misfire
    Took the valve cover off
    Found valve bridge off and looks like push rod is broken and smashed
    inside the head.
    Tomorrow I’ll get into it more.
    I only have driven it 500 miles since my purchase.
    I don’t like this, probably
    the engine is totaled.
    It has 149,700 total.

      +Phil Bourgeois Filmed in the pm hours of the day when noise is less, and the truck was in the am position or #1 cylinder at the firing position for visuals to be filmed. Cylinders 1,2,7 & 8 were tightened. Then the crank was rotated 360 degrees clockwise to the "pm" position and the middle cylinders namely 3,4,5, & 6 were tightened.

    I couldn't afford $149 for a mini mouse so I bought 2 of these for $5. I don't think I can leave a URL here so just google the name (Crazy Cart 6082 Mini USB Retractable Cable Optical Mouse for PC Laptop ) Amazon.

    • @leebarnes655
      @leebarnes655 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matt Trotta URLs are good some days and some days they aren't, it's a youtube thing where they shut off cut and paste too and it doesn't seem to matter when or why. You can and then you can't over and over again. Not the subject, but it's nice to know what others are using for mice just the same. Won't go for that kind of price until I can get this autoscrolling Dell slapped into shape. No touch, it scrolls a few lines by itself, not always the same direction but mostly pointer down page, no rhyme or reason to it. It also dies and I have it set to never allow the computer to turn off the mouse, so I have to rear up, unplug the USB from the front panel and plug it back in to be redetected and I can go 2 minutes or 20 before I have to do it again, and again, yet again. Forevermore sayeth the Raven. Ultimate torture device is not the rack or the pendulum, it's a Dell.

    • @briansmobile1
      @briansmobile1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Matt Trotta I can post a link for those who are curious, but that mouse is both smaller and more deadly to the linkages in your hand and wrist than a larger mouse due to it's orientation- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DUX5CM?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B005DUX5CM&linkCode=xm2&tag=httpwwwyou00f-20 After editing more than 900 videos on this channel, my right hand was giving me fits from being in that position of spread out and middle finger floating awkwardly above the right button. The concept of the swiftpoint GT (not sponsored in any way) is to have your hand is in a natural position of holding a small, light, game piece or stone. It also can flick scroll which greatly saves strain from scroll wheels, but it can scroll wheel too. My hand doesn't hurt anymore and I don't feel a painful lump in my wrist anymore. My surgery co-pay is WAY more than $150 so I bought two because I mouse so much in editing. It's a work hazard not to.

    • @matttrotta57
      @matttrotta57 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +briansmobile1 I wouldn't dream of using a small mouse for continued use. My mini is in my "doctors" bag for space when I go mobile. As for editing or everyday work on the desktop I use a large trackball. once I went trackball I never looked back at a mouse pad.
