Thank you for this short film. It gives me confidence to attempt the walk now. Seeing the full route in this amount of detail really helps.

Thanks - that is one of the aims of all our videos, which is to let people to see the whole walk, so they can weigh up whether thay can manage to do it, show them any obstacles they may encounter, and the views they will enjoy along the way. Enjoy the walk...

Thanks…it is a very picturesque walk this one, especially on days when the water is still and you get the reflections of the surrounding hills. Being next to the water in the main, dogs can get plenty of swims!
The weather can be a little less predictable, but these days I generally walk more in the Lakes in winter as it is just getting busier and busier during the holiday season. It’s also much easier to park midweek…

Stunning easy walk - we did this today and it was almost as beautiful as your video. Hardly a cloud in the sky - a few more ripples on the lake due to the breeze.
We also stopped for a pie / cake and coffee in buttermere - can highly recommend although was quite busy and we had to wait 15 mins to get a table

Thank you - glad you enjoyed the video. Buttermere can be busy on sunny weekends but the valley and surrounding hills are stunning especially on good visibility days…

Great video - we walked this yesterday...a little busy as it was Easter Friday, but very enjoyable and the sun made the day! Looking forward to trying your Ingleborough walk next weekend as we are training to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

Thanks 👍 Keep checking back as we’ll be adding the full Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk in early summer.

Thank you so much for showing the whole path, it realy helps disabled people like myself to determine if their mobility scooter will be able to manouevre routes. Now I know I can get to the lake in two spots :)

Glad you enjoyed it and found it useful. That was one of the reasons I decided to do the whole walks from the start, so that people can see whether the walks are suitable for them before they go. I do try to do them in sunshine and clear visibility, so that people can see what they'll hopefully be able to see when they do the walk...but with all the rain and poor weather we've had this last few months, espcially in Lancashire, Yorkshire and the Lakes, it has meant I've haven't done many! I've plenty more planned for the Lakes over the winter, quite a few of which won't have stiles, so should hopefully be suitable for all. I had a few people contact me to say they tried the pendle sculpture trail walk I did with their trampers after watching the video, as it gave them confidence that they could get around, so I'll have to keep that in mind more going forwards to point that out. BTW had a quick look at your website - some great photographs - I'm hoping my videos will improve over time 🙂

Looks like a great, picturesque walk.
Any idea when the tunnel was carved into the rock?
I'm really enjoying your crystal clear walk vids and I can't wait for a bit of warmer, dried weather to get out there and give them a go!

It certainly is, especially on cold frosty clear days...we just could do with more of them to get out and film more walks. I'm not 100% sure when the tunnel was carved out, but in a few articles I've read on Buttermere in the past, they all suggest it was a Victorian one.

Thanks for your detailed video review. I am planning with my family. I cant understand about what should i enter in google maps and is there any parking near by?

If you click on this link: maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=54.5409475948385,+-3.277523463845997 or copy and paste it into your browser, it should open google maps with a red icon at the start of the walk, The red icon is also the entrace to the car park next to the buttermere court hotel. Once on google maps, you should be able to click directions, enter your own postcode and it will give you directions to the parking and the start of the walk. That is quite a large car park, but if full there is additional parking a couple of hundred metres up the road on the way into buttermere. There is more detail about the walk, a map of the walk on the buttermere walk page on our website: www.walks4all.com/walks/buttermere-lake-walk-from-buttermere. On that webpage are links to the parking and the start of the walk. I hope that helps...

Hi I’m going tomorrow. Could you plz tell me is gatesgarth car park beside court hotel ? Or where to find it post code for the car park ?? Many thanks in advance .

Hi, sorry for the late reply. There is a pay and display car park next to the start by the Buttermere Court hotel - the postcode for that one is CA13 9UZ. That is not the Gatesgarth one though. The Gatesgarth car park is just over half way round the walk at the far end of the lake. The postcode for that one is CA13 9XA. Hope that helps...
