Glad I stumbled upon this recording of this song. I've had a really bad copy for about 20 years or so. 2000 was such a great year for Phish. The pinnacle of their career, Big Cypress on. This Ghost is top shelf. Every time I put this on, I close my eyes and imagine being at a show in 2000 and it takes be back to better times. Phish was my rock in an uncertain world and continue to be so. Thank you for this beautiful recording.
This week’s announcement of it being released mixed from the multitracks as volume 4 of “LP on LP” vinyl should cure that….so long as you have a turntable.

this is the slinkiest, sexiest, most relaxed jam the band ever performed. Majesty. This is what smoky jazz-lounge Phish sounds like, and it could only happen once they could play Ghost in a theater :P
Still remember being in the orchestra when this went down. An amazing night for sure but this was the clear highlight. During the mellow finish everyone was just kind of looking around not sure what to do, we were stunned.

Clapton and Duane Allman would have loved this - the interplay and groove are as tight/loose, flowing and soulful as their jamming within Derek and the Dominoes.
it would be so great to get some video to go with this! The way the Kuroda worked the ceiling was amazing during this jam. It was like The Loony Tunes episode when Bugs Bunny was conducting at the Hollywood Bowl, but better!

I was thinking, in partciualr from around 18 minutes in it feels like they're jamming around some song I recognize, but can't nail which one it is? The chord progression (especially that dreamy turn upwards into major), the tempo and the beat...hmm, what is it?

She smiled and winked at me and I suddenly remembered this party back at my high school days at F-M. Some cat named Phishman over at JD was throwing another rager. Arrived late just as the last keg tapped out. However, not unlike some kind of Wonder Woman/Charlie’s Angel hybrid, this woman comes through the front door after high tailing it to wegmans at the first sign of thirsty guests. After all, the only person more well liked then Phishman was his mom.

Id say 97 was the ultimate peak but they've had numerous and imo they're hitting another peak now
