Exactly how I feel about my beta copy of this mouse. I love it! Top 3 too. I just haven’t had the time to use it enough to form a complete opinion with gaming but mouse descriptions are on point!
I used the Spawn extensively for a few years and after such longer usage I started getting pain in my ring finger. If you use the mouse with a fingertip grip and you want to lift it, it's designed to be done with your thumb and pinky. However because of its significant width and the fact that the pinky is the weakest finger in your hand, you might find yourself often aiding the lift with your ring finger which is not how this mouse is intended to be handled and it can feel awkward. Over time my ring finger started to hurt. It should be noted though that my hands are a bit prone to RSI so you could have a completely different experience.
It's hard to replace the g502 because it has a lot of buttons on the right places, and the scroll wheel is just awesome to use. Unfortunately the shape isn't the best, and it's heavy AF
I love my original CM Storm Xornet, its still going after years, only the side pads have peeled off from overuse 😋. Its nice to see this has none. Its more suited to people with smaller hands.
I use the M42, GPX Superlight and MZ1. I added this to my collection, since I fell in love with the shape when I tried it and it was 22€ on Amazon (glossy black). Value is an understatement.
@@Luis-wp3qt Hard to tell. Since the MM720 is lighter is seems to be better overall. As long as the shape suits you, I believe weight is more important. I find that to be extremely subjective however, there is no offical metric or so. The main difference is the fingertip grip. The MM720 makes your ringfinger grasp the mouse from the top rather than from the side, which I find really nice for control. Overall I think tracking is easier with the MM720 than with all others, but I don't think the difference is huge. Still the MM720 is comfortable, so I like it a bit more. The M42 is better if you want a "conventional" shape I guess. It's also formidable though and a little bit bigger if you find the MM720 too small. Apart from that the M42 has the better mousewheel and feels more high quality than the MM720.
@@richarde98 my hand is cramping from the M42 so I’m considering the wireless version of MM720. Do you think I’ll be more comfortable with the MM720’s shape?
@@Luis-wp3qt If it's cramping due to the size maybe not, since the MM720 is smaller, however maybe it's cramping because of the thin sides, then yes, since the MM720 is wider and allows for a more comfortable grip. Thank yo so much for the great review! Just picked this mouse up as an early Christmas present for myself and have fallen in love with it. Perfect fit for me just like you described. If I wasn't already a subscriber you would have a new one.

Absolutely the same for me. I've always thought Zy's recommendations had a fundamental problem in that they are tilted towards hands with a 2:1 proportion. Perhaps it's just folks I know, but I know plenty of people whose hands don't match that proportion, and the further off one's hand is from that the worse the recommendations are. I ended up just coming up with my own criteria for fit that happen to work for me and my friends. I'm pumped that there's a lightweight version of the Spawn and am looking forward to getting one.
I originally had a CM Xornet based off of this design, but when it inevitably failed (broken scroll wheel axle), they discontinued it with no like models. The closest thing was the MM520, which is only moderately comparable. Now that it's time to replace my MM520, I'm ecstatic to find out they've released this model. I'm really torn internally. I want to try it out, but I already bought the MM 710 only a year ago. On the other hand, I had really mushy mouse button issues, sometimes the button would not retract for a sec and you say the build quality is much better. Its hard :D
Imho, we need a wireless mouse with finger rests for all fingers! Yeah, I know it'll look weird, but it will be very comfortable. Also, it will stay straight in your hand, not at an angle. :(
The original spawn also had a "perfect sensor" I hated the shape, but did own and try one as it was one of the few mice at the time without a bad sensor.
Had the mm710, glorious model o, model d, Hati stardust, and the Asus pugio II, and the m2 buttons all would pinch my ring finger. I'm glad they went this route with the body protecting your finger from the button cover. Just mad at myself for waiting so long to order one.
RJN has a MUCH smaller hand than you which is why he probably hates it. My hand size is similar to yours and I am most excited to try this thing out over anything else. Great vid as always, keep it up!

i think this short tail mouse might be the one for me at last, i find shorter mouse are better at controlling recoil on pubg, the shorter profile give a bit of room to do minute recoil control within the palm before going into full pull on the longer spray
I bought a dead mouse for 1 dollar yesterday. It is better in ergonomics than this. Two sides button and a dpi button. Only 80 gms and white color. The only problem is its 125 Hz, I plan to design a pcb and fit an optical sensor from a better mouse.
that spawn mouse only lasted me 9 months then it started triple clicking on a single click and went back to my MX 518 from 2005. Don't get me wrong it was a good mouse but the grips always got filled up with gunk from using so much lotion during the snowy winters trying to prevent my hands from drying out. Very good mouse
I went from a glorious O- to this. My aim almost instantly adjust when i stopped thinking that I was trying to aim with an imaginary pencil and thought about pointing with a flat hand. I know it sounds weird but going from thin to widely grip you have to relearn your center.
Man... i used to have the OG Xornet, love that mouse so much, it was extremely comfortable but after 5 years of extreme use i manged to break the mouse 1 button :(
I ordered mine and I have a G903 and G703 with powerplay. Not needed at all but I still pulled the trigger with the affordable price. Not sure how I feel about going back to wired mice. We shall see. The shape really pulled me in. My ring finger and pinky typically drag across the mousepad. This mouse should be a game changer. Plus the weight. Here I come Immortal rank.
@HornyFurry I do like it. Fits my hands great even at 20cm*11.5cm. just can't palm. Cord is nice can't even tell it's wired. Aim has improved. Great feel to it. No hand cramps
This is a phenomenal mouse. However, if you are going to get it, maybe consider the matte version. On the smooth white one for me there seems to a be a build up of gunk that form after an hour-ish of use. Seems to be quite visible dead skin cells. This problem is easily solved with the black strips grip tape they give you. But if you value vanity, maybe the matte version is a consideration.
Love to see that Cooler Master is making mice that are not clones. Plan to pick it up this week. Wish Logitech would stop smelling their own farts and remake the G303.
I had the older Xornet 2 and I agree this has been a very comfortable mouse to use in. However, in recent years, the Xornet along with my other games are constantly rejected by my Lenovo 720S. I wish there's a wireless for the Xornet Design
I use the Deathadder for every game type other than FPS. For FPS, I use the Endgame XM1 and now this mouse, the MM720. The Deathadder is super comfortable but just not quick enough for FPS play, imo
it would be cool and useful if mouse manufacturers provided a 3d model of the shell for their mice so it could be printed at home. i buy basically everything online, so buying a mouse has still been a pretty bad experience for me since i can't feel the shape of the mouse until i actually order it.

I love this thing. Hardware Canuck is the only guy championing this thing though. Obviously weird ergo shape so it won't be for everyone but still. It's a fantastic mouse.
3:15 that MM711 is beautiful, i've never seen one in that color... still cant compare to the Gwolves hati mini stardust though hehehe
That blue is exclusive to the retailer Micro Center, might still be available!
I'm really torn internally. I want to try it out, but I already bought the MM 710 only a year ago. On the other hand, I had really mushy mouse button issues, sometimes the button would not retract for a sec and you say the build quality is much better. Its hard :D
Great review and still relevant. I just purchased this mouse in glossy white. Im switching from a G502 Hero.
Looks like something you left in your car and eventually melted from the heat.
Lol
Get off the acid bro
@5:15 maybe you can put a small line the height of each mouse.. it will be very useful to compare height more easily
Imho, we need a wireless mouse with finger rests for all fingers! Yeah, I know it'll look weird, but it will be very comfortable. Also, it will stay straight in your hand, not at an angle. :(
Wow at 49gm? i didn't expect it to be that light. Looking forward to upgrade from my Viper Mini
Fantastic review, really interesting and informative thanks
The original spawn also had a "perfect sensor" I hated the shape, but did own and try one as it was one of the few mice at the time without a bad sensor.
When will we see this in Canada?! I NEED IT!
I preorder matte black and really glad I did, they are already out of stock!
My first gaming mouse was the spawn, seeing it with the modern design puts a smile on my face
Still my personal fav mouse design. I have the Xornet I and II still.
Had the mm710, glorious model o, model d, Hati stardust, and the Asus pugio II, and the m2 buttons all would pinch my ring finger. I'm glad they went this route with the body protecting your finger from the button cover. Just mad at myself for waiting so long to order one.
Reminds me of my favourite mouse 10 years ago, the Logitech G9x Laser Gaming Mouse.
we need the sound test to know approximately how the click and clack feels and perform againts others. Please don't skip that
RJN has a MUCH smaller hand than you which is why he probably hates it. My hand size is similar to yours and I am most excited to try this thing out over anything else. Great vid as always, keep it up!
I loved the CM Storm Spawn, but I have up on them after three of them all developed clicking issues. Hope these new ones are more reliable.
Dw new mouse hardware is much better
@@hansennoah1 I decided to take the chance, since my current Deathadder Elite is glitching. Kinda excited!
Hey Dmitry I wanted to check out your gear in the description and found a small error in the "provided free of charge" part. It says "Review unit provided free of charge by ????. This video is sponsored by ????". Just a heads up :)
the glossy white variant is $15 now. has to be one of the best and cheapest name brand gaming mice rn.
Has anyone tried drilling or laser cutting holes in their mouse
i think this short tail mouse might be the one for me at last, i find shorter mouse are better at controlling recoil on pubg, the shorter profile give a bit of room to do minute recoil control within the palm before going into full pull on the longer spray
Man... i used to have the OG Xornet, love that mouse so much, it was extremely comfortable but after 5 years of extreme use i manged to break the mouse 1 button :(
same... its has double click issue for me.. really sad since i love that and its really not comfortable when changing to ambidex shape mouse
@HornyFurry for sure. It fits comfortably with claw and finger tip. Gels with your hand
@HornyFurry exactly. Too unique not too. It's my main mouse now. Amazon gave me no issues but I got the black one matte
Looks great, buuuuuuut I’m left handed so no soup for me! Any recommendations for an awesome mouse for us poor, unloved lefties? 😉
Great review, hope u review aerox 3 anytime soon
Wow! Gorgeous!!
I hope CM will release a xl version.
I don't think my 21x12cm hand can... *handle* this. 😏 badumm tisss
Actually width has been my biggest problem all these years, a thicker mouse that's not longer and higher looks cool, I'll have it in wireless config.
Imagine this shape with new hardware and wireless .. definitely gonna dominate the mouse market if prices right
You havent reviewed the Mountain Makalu 67 yet right? I would love to hear your thoughts on it sinde it has been my favourite mouse since its release
I like the pinky finger support. This design is will definitely reduce my finger strain.
Cooler master makes gaming chairs too?
I wish a company with decent build quality produced mice similar to the Mad Catz RAT. Love the hyper customisation.
The Xornet is back!! Why couldn't they have done that a few months ago.... Razer mini, hardly used... swap for a Xornet?
I'm quite content with my Razer Deathadder. Got it for $20 second hand and haven't felt the need to use another mouse.
I use the Deathadder for every game type other than FPS. For FPS, I use the Endgame XM1 and now this mouse, the MM720. The Deathadder is super comfortable but just not quick enough for FPS play, imo
@@codexnecrogeddon I don't play much FPS, so it works out that way. I'm mostly playing Elder Scrolls, RE2, and GTA. Hope it's good for Cyberpunk.
Still rocking the MM711, do like this shape though and this is even lighter.
What's the game at 7:50?
Please
I would also like to know I've never seen it before
BPM : bullets per minute
it would be cool and useful if mouse manufacturers provided a 3d model of the shell for their mice so it could be printed at home. i buy basically everything online, so buying a mouse has still been a pretty bad experience for me since i can't feel the shape of the mouse until i actually order it.
I'm in love with shapes like in this MM720. Old user of Qpad 5k, 8k and Dream Machines DM2 Comfy S.
I believe many people would find this shape more comfortable if they gave it a chance. kinda like the glorious logitech g9, which for unfathomable reasons logitech is not bringing back.
Still use the original CM Spawn till this day. Most comfortable shape for me. Am sad the DPI buttons are gone on this one tho.
I am not sure, but maybe the setting for button response time is for people that use drag clicking?!
Hi Dmitry, have you got the new Steelseries Aerox 3 wireless? would love to watch your review on that. thanks!
Welcome to another video in which Dmitri shows off his crisp aim
I love perforated pc mice so my hands stays cool to the touch 😁😁😁 I love the red RGB color and that mouse has lovely curves I love that you took the time to measure your hand size and give us an exact measurement of your hand and put it on the screen I guess I know what gloves to buy you for the 🥶 😁 longer 4:33 just the tip 6:38
Dear Dmitry, thanks for another great review and in-game footage! ;) Could you please share what's the width at the front ? (between the thumb and the ring finger?) Much appreciated!
Are you still using this from time to time? After a week of gaming, mine developed a squeak on M2. Replaced it for another, developed the squeak again after 3 days.
I used to have one of these years ago. Was looking for one like it this week, but couldn't remember the name!
I see a ring finger rest, once you use one you can't go back, only options till now redragon mammoth or Corsair scimitar.
I want this mouse so bad...the only reason I am not still using my Spawn is because the scroll wheel died. Best shape for me.
