And as far as the copies in the past and future: if you travel to the future from the present you are no longer in the present since you have traveled forward, BUT if you travel to the past, you will still eventually make it back to the present (assuming you live long enough)
The elephant thing makes sense. Whatever happened between the present and the future to change the elephant to black still happens, regardless of how long ago the elephant was turned white. But if the elephant wasnt turned in that timeframe, it will still carry over the white training it got

Alex, I really appreciate the videos! One critique though…..it really bothers me that you use a 1-5 rating rather than 1-10. BGG uses 1-10, Tom Vasel uses 1-10 (with .5 point steps, which I think is best) are you using 1-5 just to be different? I myself don’t see anything wrong with rating games like most people do, I don’t feel like it’s copying. Thoughts on changing to a 1-10?

Have you played Cairn? It personally replaced Onitama for me, as I find it to be a little more dynamic while still keeping a simple and open moveset.
