  • Review and Demonstration of the Makita UC3041A corded electric chainsaw with a 12" bar. I bought this chainsaw to use inside my workshop and to attempt chainsaw carving. This saw is a european version, 240v with a Schuko plug so it needs an extension cablr for use here in the UK.

    Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm learning a lot. I also have an electric chainsaw and I really love it. I'm now a new subscriber.

    Thank you for a great review. I am considering buying a chainsaw. I am a carver and seeing that you have bought yours for carving is encouraging for me. Might have to buy this. New sub.

    You make it sound so easy, I'm almost tempted. Luckily I've always been terrified of chainsaws - nothing to do with horror movies - so not for me this time. Great demo though, I hope Makita send you something nice to thank you for the free review.

      Chainsaws are very useful and handy to have around, but they can hurt you very quickly and badly if you are not careful Peter! :-)

    I'm really impressed with this Makita. I have the 5cm longer version, but it's basically the same saw. Great video also. I was watching this in the store before i bought it. The UC3541A was only 10 euros more. Thanks!

    Excellent video mate. Thank you for making this. It seems quite a lot of people are complaining about their chain tensioning system breaking quite easily. What's your take on this ?

    • @RussellPlatten

      The pin sheared off mine after a lot of use. I was being very heavy handed with the saw at the time and applied lateral presure on the bar. Figured it was my fault. I ended up buying a STIHL MS231 C-BE, this saw has not seen much use, but looks to be a better design. More money though. :-)

    My cheap one from Argos has pretty much everything this has, oil fill on top, tension wheel, tool-less cover. The only thing is lacks is the annoying schuko plug :) Still, I only bought it for one job and I just decided to fit a new chain as I think I blunted the old one. Still got an old cheap Argos SDS drill I bought to go through a wall once, even has a mode where you can switch off the rotation, great for chiselling walls.

    I don't know if you had you're hand off the safety button but otherwise i will give you a tip. If you press the button in and pull the trigger you don't need to keep pressing on the button lock, it will keep itself down until you release the trigger. Thanks for the informative video, finnely know what's the job of that vork. 💪🏻🇳🇱

    should i use mobile oil in chain oil tank

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not recommended. Motor oil is viscocity is too runny and the bar will be worn out prematurely. :-)
