Amanda Zhang literally me. I work at school, sleep when I get home, get up and work and sleep only a few hours. If not. I work at school, work after school. Sleep late at night. And then the weekends I sleep in. I was so tired last Friday that I slept for 19 hours
Oof in 8th grade I pulled two complete all nighters. The one was the night before midterms and and other was when I was packed with homework. Needless to say, I fell asleep during my science exam and then I almost got kicked out of class. I will definetly take your tips into consideration for freshman year👌🏻
As a senior, I've learned a few tips over the past four years!!! 1.) You don't need to bring your textbooks on the first day! At least at my school, textbooks are rarely used and when they are they're for AP classes and I've only ever needed them at home. You can always spot a freshman because they're the ones lugging around 3 textbooks and 5 binders! 2.) Don't get a binder unless you need one! Challenging classes or classes where you get a lot of handouts are classes you should use binders for. For anything else, especially things like English, electives, or non-AP's, you really don't need a binder. They take up WAY too much space and are awkward in general! 3.) Avoid freshman backpack. Only bring as many supplies as you need and make trips to your locker as much as you can. Lugging around your whole locker with you only makes you feel more fatigued and can strain your back. 4.) When you are stressed out about doing homework and reach a mental block, set a timer for five minutes. During this five minutes, focus super hard and get as much done as you can. After that, take a 20-30 minute break and do something calming! Read a book, do a coloring page or crossword, watch a few youtube videos, listen to music, etc. After that, re-evaluate what you need to do and prioritize your tasks. 5.) To prioritize, consider: how many points it's worth, how long it will take, when it is due, and it's difficulty. It's more important to work on something that is a.) worth more points, b.) due tomorrow, c.) and/or is something you were struggling with. Homework is meant to help you practice and cement concepts. Doing busy work (i.e. stuff you already know how to do) isn't worth your time when you could be working on understanding a new math concept, etc.)
Kirsten Meltesen as a freshman I use my backpack because otherwise I'm pretty forgetful and would leave stuff in the classrooms. I still try to keep light and go to my locker and everything, so the point of this is when you talk about the "packing problem" do you mean it as the space backpacks take up or just the amounts kept in them? I do recognize the other advice to your comment as well, I just wanted to clarify :)
lol but seriously y'all, real advice: don't take classes you think you can't handle. no one will blame you for not wanting to take AP or honors EVER. if you want a challenge, or think you can handle it, then go ahead, but don't over stress like this will be the only thing you'll ever do. college (maybe!) comes after high school, then a job, so it's not the end of the world if you didn't "over-apply" yourselves. this isn't to put down anyone who takes all honors/AP (like seriously, kudos to y'all), but there's quite a stigma schools (and AP/honor students themselves....!) have created to make it seems like you aren't smart/working hard/getting into a good college or job if you haven't broken your back with school work. bottom line is, if you just want to take regular classes and get A's, B's, and yes, even C's, then just do that. I can promise you it's okay. really.
If you're the only person from your middle school to be attending your high school, relax a bit. It's an opportunity to start anew. If you don't make friends in the first few weeks, that's okay. Don't force yourself to find a group of people to hang out with.
Hazel C. Thanks for the advice because I'm going to High School and I won't know anybody. Its reassuring to know that I'm gonna be fine and even though I might not make friends the first couple of weeks its ok. Thanks💛
My advice for 9th graders is to 100% out yourself out there. Get to know teachers, students, and staff. The more of a connection you have with the school, the easier and more fun it will be. And also join clubs or sports. Just make a bunch of friends and be outgoing.
I think that the best piece of advice for freshmen (or anyone in high school) would be to not get involved in petty drama. I know it's difficult because it's high school and people can be terrible, but if you start to notice that you tend to be surrounded by drama because of a certain person, it's not worth it to be friends with them. It's better to have a small, close group of friends that you're comfortable with and who won't cause issues and stress than to have a lot of friends who are always starting things with you.
Agh, just do your best to ignore them and show them you don't care and they'll hopefully leave you alone once they realize you're far, far above them. :)
kittykenna thanks I’m just trying to figure what to do and what not to do during my freshman year start in like what 4 months it will be August so ya 4 months
I'm going into junior year so it's been a little bit but here's my advice anyway 1. SLEEP!!! It's so important!! It helps you focus and usually makes you happier and less stressed, if you get into the habit of going to bed early freshman year, it'll save you in the long run. 2. Get involved! Freshman year is a great year to try lots of different clubs and after-school activities and gauge your interest. It might make you nervous to go to a new club or tryout for a sport or the musical, but do it anyway. Trust me. This is a really awesome way to make new friends and have fun doing it. Figuring out your interests will help you later when you start thinking about what you want to do after high school. 3. Don't be intimidated by upperclassmen! I did this all the time freshmen year and it wasn't healthy. Sophomore year I got over that fear and befriended seniors, and those friends are some of my favorite people. 4. Know that everyone is in the same boat as you! Freshman year for me was tough because it was a huge change from middle school. But if you go into the year with the knowledge that all your classmates feel just as nervous as you, there's really nothing to worry about. Have an awesome year freshmen!! I'm rooting for you!! xx
class of 2023 babey!! i'm so nervous to go to highschool lol edit: freshman year went well :) if you're going into your first year of hs, don't get too stressed - just remember to do your work on time and ask for help when you need it, i almost failed math because i didn't do any work lmao
Tips for freshmans: - USE YOUR PLANNER!! I started getting into the whole organizing school work in January and that's when I started using my planner. Use highlighter or colored pens to know what's homework, test days, essay due dates etc. - Know who your friends are, I struggled trusting my "friends". GET FRIENDS WHO MOTIVATE YOU - Do your homework and get good grades (of course) I have to take credit recovery classes because I slacked off too much last year - BE YOU! Don't try to be like others. Dress how you want, be proud of who you are - don't talk back to teachers, I have witnessed many people in my classes talking back at our teachers. ITS NOT ATTRACTIVE OR FUNNY. Plus respect your elders, do you talk back to your mom? - DONT DITCH! EVER
don't talk back to your teachers is an especially useful tip for some because later they may need help, or an extension, or may want their 89 humbled to a 90. teachers or more likely to help hard working respectful students
advice: 1. take freshman grades seriously, as they really boost your GPA and give you a good standing when you start taking higher level classes like AP classes 2. JOIN CLUBS! Many people, including me, are reluctant to join a club because it's new/you're nervous about it or something. But you will regret it if you don't join extracurriculars, trust me. Explore the extracurriculars in your school, and join some that really interests you. This will help so much when colleges starting junior/senior year look at what you did in high school!!! 3. find someone in every class who you can text/call about the class's assignments.
I'm going into sophomore year (10th grade), so I recently finished freshman year. My freshman advice is: 1.) Grades are starting to matter. Don't slack off! Especially towards the end of the year! I personally went into freshman year thinking I could basically continue to have bad study habits from middle school because I had already taken high school classes in 8th grade where I didn't really study. DON'T HAVE THIS MINDSET! My grades turned out okay, but I have a feeling they would have been better if I tried harder. 2.) Avoid stress as much as possible! This means don't do your assignments the night before when you had a week to do it. Talk to a teacher if you don't understand something. Worrying for a test or cramming homework at lunch are some of the worst feelings because they are so stressful!! To avoid these situations, don't procrastinate, learn how to plan your time accordingly, and ask others for help. Good luck freshmen!!
Freshman, don't bring all your school supplies the first day of school. All you need the first day is a folder for all the syllabi you'll receive from your teachers, a pen, a pencil, and a highlighter. Have a copy of your class schedule and take a picture of it on your phone. Have a map, too.
Advice after just finishing freshman year: 1. Get sleep but also dedicate time for yourself after school. Do what you want to do for atleast an hour a day. 2. Be nice to everyone. Be the person to invite others as they are nervous too, and will really like you if YOU invite them to hang out. 3. Do your homework in a place you can concentrate. Putting in 110% effort into the homework means less studying for tests. 4. Honestly, suck up a little bit to the teachers. Just be nice, but not overly aggressive (for example do not ask too many questions). 5. Don't care what people think of you. If you act as yourself, people who do the same or don't will see your true personality and those that still want to be friends with you WILL BE GREAT FRIENDS.
Freshman: don't slack. Go ahead and try out for a sport, or band, or whatever. Love yourself, don't wait to start assignments, at least plan as soon as you can. If you're in AP or Pre Ap: ask questions, ask your classmates, ask teachers.
@Catherine Le I know I'm late with this reply but you should definitely have a bullet journal. All you do is make a calendar on one page and fill it in with stuff. On the next couple of pages you put what you'll be doing each day for the whole month to keep track with your h/w, school and daily life all at once. You can even design the corners of the pages with cute stickers, like how I did! :) -- *Example for the next couple of pages;* September 5, Monday: - ELA Essay (complete today and hand in tomorrow) ☑️ - Science Project (do project early and hand in the papers next week) ☑️ - Do your laundry today ☑️ - walk the dogs ☑️ - daily life stuff ☑️ September 6 Tuesday - Math Questions (Hand in tomorrow)☑️ e.t.c -- Hope that helps! I wish you the best luck on your studies! xoxo
IK this is the most hypocritical thing ever bc I'm always a hoe for stationary BUT DONT OVER BUY!! I still have crap that I bought from freshman year that I will never use (locker decor, a billion pencil cases, etc.) Not only will u be spending money you don't need to, you kinda end up looking a bit dorky as well. Also! Talk to ur teachers!!! Chill out after class and just introduce yourself. It sounds rlly lame, but my best friends in my first two years of HS were my English teacher and my science teacher. Not to mention they let you do cool crap (my science teacher would let me do super cool experiments on my own bc I simply asked and he thought it was super cool that I wanted to learn more and just be his friend) my English teacher later informed me that she spent 9 years abroad in Spain and was able to help me in Spanish when I was struggling. My science teacher helped my grow so much as a person and it's that stuff you really hold onto in life ya know. Just my two cents❤️️❤️️
Also, befriend people who have good heads on their shoulders. (Rlly hoping this is a universal saying and not something weird my family just says) In the moment, the "it" crowd might seem super fun, but very rarely is their main focus their schooling and well being. Surround yourself with people who will effect you for the better and don't waste your time.... you're worth more than fast friends. This will get you so much farther in the long run and usually makes friends for life, not just people you'll fight with and forget about in a few months. Not to mention being around focused and mature people usually makes you even more focused and mature, which really pays off in the long run.
Appreciate the help :) and yeah im a office supply whore but I'm not planning to change that lmao everyone in my grade looks at me as if I'm staples like always asking for pencils. But thanks😘
My first year of high school is 2018 (I live in Australia) and I am going to an all girls high school. I have visited the school many times and the students are really nice. They always say if you are lost and can't find your class just ask us and we will help you.
It's Anamariaa I got to an all girls high school too! I live in the US though but I will say everyone is super friendly! On the first day I will admit I got lost (even though my school is super small, oops) and we had people with special shirts on that could tell you where to go. I would say if anyone has that definitely use them, they are there to help you, not to make fun of you.
For the freshman of this year, advice i would give is to never give up and stay positive. High school might seem like a scary and overwhelming place at first, especially with other upperclassmen and some of the work given. But if you stay positive and relaxed everything should be alright. Also, don't be scared to meet new people, even if they're upperclassmen. Meet them, Greet them, make friends with them. It'll make adjusting to the school a lot easier and enjoyable. This also includes teachers and guidance counselor. I can't stress this point enough. MAKE. FRIENDS. WITH. YOUR. TEACHERS. and Guidance Counselor. PLEASE. And it doesn't matter which teachers, whether it's your Gym teacher, your Science teacher, your Math teacher or that English teacher you're not very fond with, create some type of close teacher-student relationship. Trust me, it'll help you in the long run. It'll single you out from the rest of the class and teacher will gain more a trust with you. Plus, if you every need a recommendation, like for a scholarship, a job or college, a teacher is the best person to get it from. But if you're the worst kid in the class or if the teacher doesn't really know you that well, they're either going to have a hard time writing one or not write one at all. This also applies with your Guidance Counselor. I'm not sure how it works in other schools, but at mine, they have it so that each student has a separate Counselor depending on their last name, but that is the Counselor you get for the rest of your 4 years. And this counselor is the person who you speak with to set up your classes, the one who you talk to about personal issues and the one who helps you get into any college you aim for. So creating a relationship with them is very important and something I highly recommend you do as a freshman. OOH ALSO, DON'T CRAM IN A LOT OF HONORS OR AP CLASSES UNLESS YOU CAN HANDLE IT ALL. This happened to me and my older sibling and we ended up overwhelmed and barely passing. Honors and AP classes mean a lot more work and dedication than your regular class, but passing the class does mean you get more credits than a regular class and the opportunity of college credits for taking an AP class. But it's still a lot of work and can be overwhelming if u take a bunch of them you can't handle. So, I advise that if you take one, take an Honor or AP in a subject you're fond of. It'll be easier to understand and it you won't be bored in a subject you like. But, especially with Honors or AP, if you every find yourself stuck, please don't hesitate to ask questions. Being lost or confused won't help and you might fall behind, which is a big no-no. Teachers are always there to help, they practically get paid for it , but if you're too shy, ask a classmate or look it up. Gosh, i didn't mean to go on that long but there is soo much i want to tell you that I wish i knew as a freshman. But, overall, the best advice I could give is to take each day, each class, and each person with one step at a time. Go at your own pace and find your own limits and have fun :) This is a brand new chapter in your life and it's all about how YOU make, so make it the best you've every had. :) ~k
I signed up for 2 honors classes, but got all honors instead 🥲 I’m scared and already doubting myself so… doesn’t matter, I can’t change it now 🥲 I hope I can do it
I have some tips for freshmens too :) 1) Experiment with everything! Try new things in studying, make new habits, experiment with new classes, take yourself out of your comfort zone. This experimental-thing could really helps you in another section of your life, and course, in uni/college is good! 2) Be really good in something, and find your passion. 3) Be nice with other people, don"t bully, and If you have problems with somebody, try to have a conversation with him/her or please find an adult! Have a nice high school-time! :)
studyign can you do a video on what inspires you ? like what gives you the drive to keep studying all the time. I know you have one already but I didn't really get an answer to that question from that video
My number one recommendation, especially for freshmans, is to make sure you have all your credits and courses planned out. Don't just pick courses blindly. Know what credits you need to graduate and take a look at your course request forms for courses your interested in taking and that will count toward your final credit count and make sure you have it all mapped out before senior year. The worst mistake you can make is waiting until last minute. And take the advice in this video as well, she gave some solid advice :)
same!! i'm doing IB and they put me in AP Human Geography. I don't know if you can switch out of it and your schedule will be affected/can't do IB though
This was so helpful, I start high school this fall and I'm really scared because I'm afraid I won't maintain my 4.0 GPA and I'm scared I'll be too stressed.
my ninth grade year was the year of getting the best grades i could. this year, now that they have changed the grading system in colorado, i don't know what the hell i'm doing. thanks board of education.
people say dont use binders but if they work for you use them. it's more important to do what works for you! also do not procrastinate! I say that as I procrastinate doing my ap chemistry summer work. last and not least be prepared. I always carry my lucky pencil and about thirty extra disposables with me for other people.
I am a freshman, and yes... we are unprepared. I am getting into stationery and plan to reform my study methods at some point, and have such invested in stationery, often carrying an excess of what I need with me. I like to lend my pencils/pens to my classmates, but my tip is to MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU SOMETHING IN RETURN, that you later give back to them. This ensures that you will ALWAYS get back your pen/pencil/whatever it is that you loan to them. As soon as anyone takes an item from my stationery collection, I have them give me their student i.d., phone, or anything of equal or higher value to my pen. When they return my pen in working order, I give them back their items. Since I have implemented this system, none of my stuff has been stolen or vandalized.
I am a High School Junior and if there is one thing I have seen in the students is that they all lost there drive to keep going somewhere. (Indian education system is hell, though) If there is one advice I would give, it is to keep motivating yourself and taking care. Have fun and live your life. Keep a balance. That slight depression that some people have is not good. Good luck!
Eeshita D even I am an Indian and very true ,Indian education system is hell. some reasons by me about my thoughts on this fact- they don't have lockers we can't were casual clothes .... we have to wear uniforms phone is not allowed we have to take 12 classes of different subjects till 12 ......etc so cruel well I am just in class 6 right now +I am a freshman girl
FOR ANYONE THAT NEEDS THIS: My dad got C's and D's in non-advanced classes all throughout high school, then got all A's in advanced college classes along with a job. Do I recommend getting bad grades in high school? No. But just know that you can always come back, it is never too late.
DONT BE FRIENDS WITH THE WRONG CROWD. Don't hang out with the wrong people because if you do, they might influence you to do things and will distract you from school and homework! DON'T SKIP CLASSES! EVER! (Unless you are really sick or does not feel good). There are some teachers who gives you point for showing up and being there for class. That could be crucial! FOR GIRLS!!! Always bring pads/tampons! Some girls start their period late so you might never know when it might start!
As a junior I have learned that transitioning from 8th to freshman can be really difficult 😥 and confusing but you will adjust just be determined and keep persevering, it will all be worth it . In freshman I had all A pluses and one A minus which brought down my gpa to a 3.9 and also don’t forget when transitioning yo high school 🏫 don’t forget that it is ok to ask questions no one is going to penalize you for it. Edit; I know I wrote this late but I just wanted to share with y’all.😤
Tips for freshman - 1. Work very hard. 2. Try to take 2-3 APs. 3. Finish your homework as soon as you get home. 4. It's okay to sacrifice a bit of sleep ex. Right before a test. 5. Don't have a planner because it's a waste of time to maintain it. 6. Apply to scholarships. 7. Make connections with your teachers. 8. Narrow your focus to important extracurriculars and take part in competitions.
ALSO- (Just a tip for the homework buddy thing) I recommend that you find someone who is as focused as you are; don't just do your hw with your best friend :) I took algebra in 8th and I would get so distracted because I did my homework with my best friend lol
im a senior in high school and i think freshman year is a good year to meet people. dont be afraid to talk to people in your grade bc u might be sharing more classes with them in the future and not only that but some of those people are people who you will see all 4 years! and smth i think that matters a lot is dont be afraid to cut off people who want to make your school life boring or hell. smth i wish i had understood when i started high school is that u shouldnt let people ruin your interest in certain things that u might rly rly like. i took a music class that i didnt rly get to enjoy bc the people around me were giving vibes that they didnt like it and it made me not want to like that class bc i wanted to fit in with them. so basically, dont be afraid to enjoy things. i hope this advice is useful to someone and good luck incoming freshmen!
My advice for freshman, is don't think your all that. Because that will get you into trouble with older kids, also don't go to bed late as hell. Have confidence it's not like the old days, make new friends get adjusted. I believe in you guys!, good luck. 👍🏼
when you're journaling/taking notes at school, how do you have the time in class to make the pages cute and fancy? do you take notes first and then decorate at home? i want to start doing these things but i don't think i'll have the time.
I'm in Canada so grade 9 was my second year of high school, and it was honestly really laid back for me. I'd already been there for a year, i knew the teachers and the students, and I didn't get very much homework so I had lots of time to focus on extracurriculars. Now I'm sooo busy though. Anyway, I hope all the freshmen are having a good time in high school so far :)
yes! always always sit in the front row of seats in your classroom. it has many benefits you even can't imagine. not only you will be more aware of what teacher says but teachers also tend to empathise those students more. I can tell it from my own experience. And I have been in different schools for 15 years in summary and I always chose the front seat. as a result I was best student every single year in terms of grades. thank you for this video!
This is so great! I really wish I saw this Freshman year, even though I feel satisfied with my grades, I still developed the habit of procrastination and now struggle with it. However I thought this video was soo helpful and I just wanted to put out there to all the Freshman that your first year of high school is going to be great, there may be some bumps in the road but I promise that it will get better if you're determined to make it better, and if you feel like you can't do it alone then that's okay. Don't ever feel like your a burden to others for asking for help, because after all, your needs are your number one priority, and if they can't see that then they probably should'nt be important in your life. So always remember that not only are your grades and your knowledge important, but also your mental condition. You are outside who you are inside. I'm sorry if that didn't make sense but in my point of view that's how I would see it, so good luck to all of you and thank you again for the wonderful video.
Here's something I wish somebody told me: Its ok if you don't feel good in a school, its ok to change it, switch schools, classes, anything. I spent four months in the wrong school for me and I hated that place, but I liked the courses (in italy we have different schools for everything, a language one, a psych one, a classical studies one..) so I stayed for a while, but until I changed school I felt awful all the time. Also, don't stay with people that make you feel bad - if you meet new people your first year and you find out that they are not really good for you, please don't keep hanging out with them. A girl literally stalked me my third year but the second I got rid of her I found real friends, friends that help me with anxiety and do not help the anxiety get over me. School is stressful enough without negativity coming from classmates - I now it just now that Im in my fifth and last year.
heres some advice not just towards freshies, but to those who need help (but i have a different education system so i dont know those AP classes (the only ap we have is araling panlipunan which is basically philippines history...?) or that gpa thing sooo) 1. before classes start and i mean CLASSES find out what study method/s work for you. dont do it in the middle of the year because you'll stress out and panic and we dont want that. 2. take clubs that you can do. just because everyone says to join one doesnt mean you should join a sports club if you have bad stamina (unless you really want to). i cant really relate to these because in my school we're forced to join a club so academics are always balanced 3. talk to the teachers. like seriously, i spent an entire school year just throwing jokes and terrible puns at them, and hey, you might get to do new things because of them. 4. get a group chat per class (idk how that feels to have a lot of group chats so), and ask if you need help. ask your friends, your teachers if you can, just don't do it by yourself. last and the IMPORTANT ONE i swear 5. if you fail a test and you need to improve really badly (coughs at math), study alongside someone. if they know things you dont, better. i never work well with bigger groups like with 3 because i dont like a lot of people so i stick to a pair work. i usually recommend friends because you're more open with each other.
+studyign i agree unless most of them dont answer ;; i only have one group chat because unlike others in my school (bcuz yey asia) we dont move classes so i only have one class, and a majority of my classmates never answer me so i resort to my friends who also doesnt know anything haha
Just finished freshmen year this year. To be honest, I was really scared about it but it turned out to be a really great year! I had great teachers, worked hard, and had fun. To all incoming freshmens, relax and take a deep breath: you will survive! Enjoy it while it lasts, it goes by fast!!!!
i am in my freshman year (it’s almost over yikes) and please please please don’t procrastinate and turn in all your assignments at the end of the quarter. i made this mistake this past quarter and it really wasn’t fun. i am planning to start doing every assignment on time for the 4th quarter, and do as best as i can :) oh and also if you are taking orchestra, please get a half inch binder for your music, it will make your life so much easier when flipping through songs or when there is a 3 or 4 page song
here is something i would reccomend. JOIN MARCHING BAND! It is so much fun, if you cant play an instrument, join color guard! It is so much fun to do, you have something to do over the summer, you make lots of amazing friends, (if your school counts it as one) you get a P.E. credit for each summer, football games are so much fun. Im an 8th grader about to go into high school and i was lucky enough to be in marching band with the nearby highschool because i joined color guard. Now i have so many high school friends for next year. Just take my word for it, at the beginning i cried and i felt sick i wanted to quit. but i stuck with it and now i have a passion i could even take with me to college!
Class of 2021! Here are some tips for freshmen (aka class of 2023/2024). -take notes of everything you think will be brought up in an exam and study over it. -keep organized, especially with COVID, and most students having to do classes on zoom. -email teachers and interact more. -I know it may seem early, but the three years will fly by quickly and you'll be like me, applying for college and stressing. Make sure to begin brainstorming what major or minor you'd be interested in. If it's art, music, etc, begin practicing and making sample portfolios. -make a list of dream universities you have and look up their average GPA, and try to keep your GPA above that by at least 5 points. I wish I had done this (": -Even though some universities will be test optional for years to come, keep in mind you'll need to take your ACT/SAT in junior year. Take practice tests in sophomore year but research the subject the end of freshman year. -have fun but be smart!
Return textbooks to the book room if your teacher isn't going to use them. My English teacher never made assignments out of a really heavy Literature book I got days before, so I returned it 4 weeks into the school year.
I’m in 8th grade right now but last week our music department had to meet with the high schools for a music department talk and the high schoolers said “we fear the freshman more then they fear us” so it’s good to know that I’ll be feared in 4 months
Anyone here class of 2024? Only me? Omg I’m like super nervous 😬, and I’m watching this in quarantine to get ready for hs, hope u guys stay well and safe! 🥰
my freshman year schedule: ( this is if i get all the classes i want lol) - Honors Algebra 2 - GT English 9 - Honors American Government - AP Environmental Science - P.E. ( required) - Spanish 3 -also Im going to a performing arts high school so the other 2/8 courses will be my "prime/major". If any one has any advice please share!!
lol i'm here almost done with freshman year and realized how much i screwed up... hahaha i'm trying to stay positive and work hard next year i'm starting with 3 AP classes sophomore year i really hope i'm able to cope with the work load
TIPS FOR FRESHMAN: 1) If you have any AP classes, please try to do your best. Have a journal and take notes and be organized especially in that class. When I was a freshman, I goofed off in my AP world history and got a 2. Now as a junior, I'm trying to work my ass off bc my school let's me retake the exam but now I have 4 AP exams to do adding the ACT to do my best. 2) If you have a class that you don't understand, like say math or science. Keep notes and the lessons that your teacher teaches you bc I've learned that especially in math. it'll help you a lot. Say you have algebra 1 freshman year, sophomore year you'll have geometry and some geometry stuff has algebra notes that you can easily just go back to your journal. I did that in sophomore year and it's helping me out junior year.3) With your notes. YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY OR COLOR CODE ANYTHING. A simple highlighter or just a black pen works if you're a simple person. of course, if you like color coding, go ahead. I feel like some people are kinda encouraged to do that and they don't learn that way. There's this format that just recently has be taught to me. Roman numeral will be the general topic. then indent and get A that is a specific topic. 1 will be examples or more specific information. example would be I. Suicide Squad A. The Power That Amanda has over the squad 1. Deadpool's daughter 2. El Diablo is guilty of his family. That format has helped me be organized. sorry if that was a bad example!
like Sareena said, always have a contact information with someone in your class. especially if you don't understand it. have more than just one person in case that person doesn't know something. I don't have much tips bc It's already midnight for me (ik i need to get a good sleeping schedule.)
I'm so proud of you Sareena. I wish I picked up my speed with high school, but my depression and anxiety got in the way. I hung onto the end with being part of the top 5% of the class. But I believe I didn't reach my full potential because of my underlying mental problems. I'm happy you've managed to hold on despite your hectic schedule. You truly are an inspiration.
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm in 8th grade about to go into my highschool where not alot of my other friends are going with me. I really needed to know how to start the year thanks for the advice!
She is right. Try to avoid slacking off as a fresh man cuz u don’t want to get a low grade on even a little quiz. I’m currently going as a fresh man this next school year and I’m kind of nervous but confident. Also, I’m going to get Geometry. A lot of people say that is hard. Wish me luck in that class. I need to do very well next school year and try to succeed as much as I can hopefuully
Im too lazy for this lmfao. I prolly even chose all the hard electives and core classes. Im gonna have to get involved in something also, but Im not really interested in anything. This is gonna be a hell of a year.
Also I would recommend using a file folder for papers you won't need anymore to keep at home so you can save them for portfolios at the end of the year (if your teachers do that), but it won't weigh your backpack down with 50 pounds of papers.
I am already freaking out. I graduate when i am 17, i cant start driving my friends until a few months into my senior year:(. I’m young so I can’t really get a job for a while. I do volleyball and the days I have games i get home at 11:30 at night!! I also do track the other two seasons and i get home very late. I am taking all honors classes available and I was invite to this thing my school is trying out with a few kids(some class that is meant for juniors and seniors). My sister will be a junio and we are trying to get into the same class.
my freshman year is coming to an end (and it happened vv fast) so my advice would be: 1. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR WORK!!!! ESPECIALLY during the first and last quarters!! personally I have anxiety and moving to high school was way to hard on me and it affected my academics. DEFINITELY start a routine and do as much of your work as you can (if you can't do everything afterschool I would prioritize/do the work for classes you have later, in passing time or the start and ends of classes you find time to finish homework). 2. DON'T BUY EVERYTHING ON THE MATERIALS LIST!!! I've bought SO many things that I've never used! I would recommend making friends with upperclassmen and finding out what they used in their classes (freshmen year is like middle school, you don't get the chance to choose your classes. except electives. so its likely that these upperclassmen had the exact same schedule you do). I only use an expandable file thingy (which is better than a binder and I recommend finding organization methods that work best for you) and a binder for biology at this point. And of 6 notebooks, I only regularly use 2 of them. 3. DONT OVERPACK!!!! YOUR BACK WILL THANK YOU,, TRUST ME. I'm constantly carrying probably 10 pounds in my backpack and my posture has become HORRIBLE because of it. Clean your backpack and keep a 2 inch binder at home to keep all the worksheets you no longer need at school! That way when you need to go back to study, it's at home and not at the bottom of your bag! 4. Try to start finding and solidifying your friends! I've made some friends (usually through clubs like GSA or common interests, like I made my bio friends because we're art nerds) but I've def lost some (which was either me disagreeing with their actions or they replaced me which Is gonna happen a lot tbh). I don't know how to help but after a while it should become clear who you should keep close or away really. 5. DONT DO STUPID THINGS. Freshman year was rough academically and I'd 10/10 recommend focusing in class!! I know vaping is a thing and skipping is supposed to be cool but for the love of whatever is out there DONT. DO. EITHER. Tbh vaping is probably gonna become something worse and skipping is a pain when the attendance policy is strict. Take "don't do drugs and stay in school" quite literally. 6. Sit in the front if you can. Most distractions and friend groups sit closer to the back or the sides, so the front is much more distraction free and its easier to pay attention. I've been stuck in a couple CP classes (which are, from experience, much rowdier than honors classes) and being closer to the front was much easier to tolerate than being shoved in the back. 7. GET INVOLVED, its very cliché but getting involved in clubs or special programs can make you friends that have the same interests as you! I'm in GSA and the agriscience program (where I stay after almost daily oops) and I've made tons of friends of every age and that are just like me!! You're probably going to find a club or group or something of people that are like you. I don't really know what else to say besides GOOD LUCK!!! The days drag but the year goes by REALLY FAST and i'd recommend taking your time and living in the moment :)
tips: 1)put yourself out there!! -band - dance - weird clubs (my school has a coloring book club) - languages It sounds nerdy or not fun, but I have met so many people that I wouldn't have met if I hadn't have done these things. My school has band practice before school starts, so everyone can meet each other and the freshman get to meet each other. Also, my school has a thing called club fair (i don't know if it's just my school), but everyone goes to the library during school and sign up for clubs they might be interested in. It's fun to skip out of class, but also, everyone is going, so the point is to find out what you might want to do 2)sleep. You need sleep. I did band and showchoir (singing and dancing) and I would have weeks full of practice, shows, and not a lot of sleep. That was when my worst grades came in. Then, when it all stopped, and I had time to sleep, I could focus on having a consistent schedule and sleeping regularly. 3) take it seriously. I have a lot of friends who wouldn't do their work and just laugh at their zero's, but that's not what school is about. While in the moment, you would rather go to a party or hang out with friends, this is the first time that your future really depends on the present. If you always choose the party or hanging out with friends, you won't get the grade that you are capable of. 4) enjoy it. while what I have said may seem stressful, a few times, you should opt to take a break and have fun, because not everything is about school. (It gets really fun when you can drive). And while every moment seems to last an eternity, the year really does fly by.
I’m really late on this but I’m class of 24’ and I’m taking a AP class as a Freshman I believe. 90% of my teachers recommended not to take AP as Freshman but many students got recommended by our Social Studies teachers (it is AP human geography btw)
I'm currently in year 9 (freshman year) and one of the things I learnt was... Don't sweat the small stuff like popularity because that will not concern you in layer life
I’m a sophomore this year so I can give advise looking back on my freshman year. Don’t worry too much. Freshman year isn’t that hard and it’s not something to be scared about. Enjoy it, like I said it’s gonna be an easy year, appreciate your lack of homework it only gets worse from there. Try new things. Don’t be afraid to pursue interests or see if you like a class. I’m doing wrestling and mock trial this year. This is my first year ever doing a sport. And my first year of mock trial. Try new things is what I’m trying to say Talk to your teachers. Don’t be a stranger, my rule is: if you aren’t comfortable enough to ask your teacher for a letter of recommendation then you don’t know them well enough. Plan ahead. If you don’t plan out a schedule ahead of time you might have trouble graduating because you never took a fine art or a foreign language. Make sure you know what classes you need to graduate and know which classes you want to take. Other than that good luck and have fun. Have fun is another important one, high school is supposed to be an awesome time, don’t waste it studying or doing tons of schoolwork. Make friends, and enjoy it while it lasts
i've literally watched this over 100 times before starting my freshman year, it helped so much especially my AP human geography class and accel math. With applying all of the tips you spoke about I am now a straight A student!!!
Actually 7th and 8th grade is already considered high school in my country (though I'm a 9th grader now), so from a person from that background, don't stress about it and let's just live it through and distract ourselves with studying and hobbies for a while. We'll rise up soon class of 2021
My advice for freshman year is sleep as much as you can, because you will have less and less sleeping time in the future
+Amanda Zhang SO TRUE
Amanda Zhang literally me. I work at school, sleep when I get home, get up and work and sleep only a few hours. If not. I work at school, work after school. Sleep late at night. And then the weekends I sleep in.
I was so tired last Friday that I slept for 19 hours
Ikr!!
Oof in 8th grade I pulled two complete all nighters. The one was the night before midterms and and other was when I was packed with homework. Needless to say, I fell asleep during my science exam and then I almost got kicked out of class. I will definetly take your tips into consideration for freshman year👌🏻
SO SO SO SO SO TRUEEE
+Kirsten Meltesen awesome advice 💗
Kirsten Meltesen as a freshman I use my backpack because otherwise I'm pretty forgetful and would leave stuff in the classrooms. I still try to keep light and go to my locker and everything, so the point of this is when you talk about the "packing problem" do you mean it as the space backpacks take up or just the amounts kept in them? I do recognize the other advice to your comment as well, I just wanted to clarify :)
K
Kirsten Meltesen cool💙
Kirsten Meltesen thanks for the tips!!!
"my freshman year I had my lightest coursework, I had all honors classes" *stares into the camera like in the office*
lol but seriously y'all, real advice: don't take classes you think you can't handle. no one will blame you for not wanting to take AP or honors EVER. if you want a challenge, or think you can handle it, then go ahead, but don't over stress like this will be the only thing you'll ever do. college (maybe!) comes after high school, then a job, so it's not the end of the world if you didn't "over-apply" yourselves. this isn't to put down anyone who takes all honors/AP (like seriously, kudos to y'all), but there's quite a stigma schools (and AP/honor students themselves....!) have created to make it seems like you aren't smart/working hard/getting into a good college or job if you haven't broken your back with school work. bottom line is, if you just want to take regular classes and get A's, B's, and yes, even C's, then just do that. I can promise you it's okay. really.
+Madison Clayton THIS IS GOOD ADVICE
Madison Clayton My school only has AP and Honors classes(it's supposed to be a special smart snowflake school) so I have no choice. : (
Madison Clayton I don't understand this
the office can always be referred to
If you're the only person from your middle school to be attending your high school, relax a bit. It's an opportunity to start anew. If you don't make friends in the first few weeks, that's okay. Don't force yourself to find a group of people to hang out with.
Kylo Ren
That's not an excuse to not make friends. You can make friends no matter what.
Hazel C. Thanks for the advice because I'm going to High School and I won't know anybody. Its reassuring to know that I'm gonna be fine and even though I might not make friends the first couple of weeks its ok. Thanks💛
thank you because everyone in my middle school is going to OHS and I’m going to ITA
Hazel C. Thanks! I’m planning on doing that since I’m the only person from my middle school who’s going to a different hs from the others
You have no idea how much I needed to hear this haha
Why am I watching this I’m 4
Lol underrated comment
No your 5 now
Then how do you know how to write?
lmaooosksk 😂😂😂
That Lazy person this boi bouta get r/woooshed
My advice for 9th graders is to 100% out yourself out there. Get to know teachers, students, and staff. The more of a connection you have with the school, the easier and more fun it will be. And also join clubs or sports. Just make a bunch of friends and be outgoing.
+Allie K 💗💗💗 good advice!
I failed doing that honestly. Not much of the outgoing person.
creeperdragon ikr
THIS IS HARD TO THINK ABOUT. I FEEL LIKE IM NOT READY
That Person rip
I think that the best piece of advice for freshmen (or anyone in high school) would be to not get involved in petty drama. I know it's difficult because it's high school and people can be terrible, but if you start to notice that you tend to be surrounded by drama because of a certain person, it's not worth it to be friends with them. It's better to have a small, close group of friends that you're comfortable with and who won't cause issues and stress than to have a lot of friends who are always starting things with you.
+MacKenna Starr DEFINITELY!
MacKenna Starr 😅😅😅 its hard for me when a Junior gets attracted to you and then his friends and him are being creeps and annoying
Agh, just do your best to ignore them and show them you don't care and they'll hopefully leave you alone once they realize you're far, far above them. :)
kittykenna couldn’t have said it better
kittykenna thanks I’m just trying to figure what to do and what not to do during my freshman year start in like what 4 months it will be August so ya 4 months
I'm going into junior year so it's been a little bit but here's my advice anyway
I'm rooting for you!! xx
thank you ❤
@Lindsey Drew Shoot, my mom probably won't allow me to go to after-school programs cuz she dont trust me but thnx for the advice ❤❤❤
Thanks this was honestly so helpful❤️
class of 2023 babey!! i'm so nervous to go to highschool lol
edit: freshman year went well :) if you're going into your first year of hs, don't get too stressed - just remember to do your work on time and ask for help when you need it, i almost failed math because i didn't do any work lmao
oui oui baguette yeah me too🥺
samee what highschool are you going to?
ee sameee
yesss
Gahhhh same
Tips for freshmans:
- USE YOUR PLANNER!! I started getting into the whole organizing school work in January and that's when I started using my planner. Use highlighter or colored pens to know what's homework, test days, essay due dates etc.
- Know who your friends are, I struggled trusting my "friends". GET FRIENDS WHO MOTIVATE YOU
- Do your homework and get good grades (of course) I have to take credit recovery classes because I slacked off too much last year
- BE YOU! Don't try to be like others. Dress how you want, be proud of who you are
- don't talk back to teachers, I have witnessed many people in my classes talking back at our teachers. ITS NOT ATTRACTIVE OR FUNNY. Plus respect your elders, do you talk back to your mom?
- DONT DITCH! EVER
Gladys Salazar Sadly I have a uniform can't dress how I want
don't talk back to your teachers is an especially useful tip for some because later they may need help, or an extension, or may want their 89 humbled to a 90. teachers or more likely to help hard working respectful students
u should make a how to get prepared for the first day of school!
+Angelina Oliveira maybe!
studyign do it pls
advice:
1. take freshman grades seriously, as they really boost your GPA and give you a good standing when you start taking higher level classes like AP classes
+Vineetha Yadlapalli definitely!
I'm going into sophomore year (10th grade), so I recently finished freshman year. My freshman advice is:
1.) Grades are starting to matter.
+Catherine S good advice❕
You are a junior now good luck !!
You're a senior now!! Congrats 2019!!
(My sister was 2018, I'm 2023 starting next year).
@@flowersbees lmfao she's graduate now XDDD
Thanks for the advice I'm gonna be a freshman next year & I'm really nervous
Freshman, don't bring all your school supplies the first day of school. All you need the first day is a folder for all the syllabi you'll receive from your teachers, a pen, a pencil, and a highlighter.
Have a copy of your class schedule and take a picture of it on your phone. Have a map, too.
Lmao is syllabi a word?
@@yeetmyboi6765 Yeah.. lol.
Yeet Myboi yep.
@Yeet Myboi we all now know who's going to be failing English class during Freshman year😂 (issa joke)
They gave you a map of your school? 🤣
Advice after just finishing freshman year:
+dersiteprince good advice ‼️
dersiteprince is that Homestuck
*is a high school graduate*
*takes notes anyways*
+Bianca Gonzalez AMAZING ‼️‼️
@Bianca Gonzalez lmao
You should do a "how to get prepared for school the week before."
Hana Carlson great idea!
Can you make an after school routine? I'm having trouble establishing an efficient homework routine. That would be very helpful!!
i will!
--
*Example for the next couple of pages;*
September 5, Monday:
- ELA Essay (complete today and hand in tomorrow) ☑️
- Science Project (do project early and hand in the papers next week) ☑️
- Do your laundry today ☑️
- walk the dogs ☑️
- daily life stuff ☑️
September 6 Tuesday
- Math Questions (Hand in tomorrow)☑️
e.t.c
--
Hope that helps!
But thanks😘
+Cheyenne good advice!!
Best advice ♡
CLASS OF 2022! WHO ELSE IS NERVOUS!
Tavisha Khanna Me!! I’m nervous as hell.
Tavisha Khanna me im sooo nervous
Yess!!! And yes hella nervous
Yasss! School starts in less than a month and I'm super nervous 😬
I’m nervous too. Should I start trying to make on first day or no?
advice from a just finished being freshman: stay out of the older people's way, it's easier. trust me.
emily challand'x not true. Older people will try to help freshman as they remember what it was like back then.
Larry Camarillo yeesh, what kind of school do you go to? There couldn't be a more distinct divide between older and younger students where I am
emily challand'x lmao at my school the older ones stay away from the younger ones because they are VILE
+Melio007 this is great advice 🐳 thanks for sharing it 💗
Proof heroes don’t always wear capes ladies and gentlemen. Ily ❤️
I’m not reading all that but I agree 100%
I signed up for 2 honors classes, but got all honors instead 🥲 I’m scared and already doubting myself so… doesn’t matter, I can’t change it now 🥲 I hope I can do it
I have some tips for freshmens too :)
1) Experiment with everything!
+Bonny Shepard nice advice ❤️
"High school shouldn't be confined to going to class, coming home, doing homework and repeating it for the next day" - so true it's sad >
Im a freshmen and im procrastinating a shiton by watching this lol
+Sima Kaur i hope it helped tho!
studyign can you do a video on what inspires you ? like what gives you the drive to keep studying all the time. I know you have one already but I didn't really get an answer to that question from that video
not a freshman anymore huh ☹️😊
My number one recommendation, especially for freshmans, is to make sure you have all your credits and courses planned out. Don't just pick courses blindly. Know what credits you need to graduate and take a look at your course request forms for courses your interested in taking and that will count toward your final credit count and make sure you have it all mapped out before senior year. The worst mistake you can make is waiting until last minute. And take the advice in this video as well, she gave some solid advice :)
+Lulu Bell true!!!
LITERALLY I AM A FRESHMAN AND IM TAKING AP WORLD HISTORY THIS WILL HELP ME SOOO MUCH
You can take AP in freshman year where you're at? I wish we could in my state :(
+Emma Smith i live in Miami. I wonder if you have virtual school and maybe you could try it :)
omfgggg at our school we can only take ap human geography and ap biology woahhh (and guess what? i took both smh kill me)
+Michelle same, life is rough
same!! i'm doing IB and they put me in AP Human Geography. I don't know if you can switch out of it and your schedule will be affected/can't do IB though
This was so helpful, I start high school this fall and I'm really scared because I'm afraid I won't maintain my 4.0 GPA and I'm scared I'll be too stressed.
+Chelseacyc so happy u found it helpful! i hope everything goes well next year!
Did you maintain your 4.0
Doesn’t your gpa start over in highschool?
Yes, but you'll want to get okay grades in middle school if there's a specific class you want at the start of highschool (like pre-AP
my ninth grade year was the year of getting the best grades i could. this year, now that they have changed the grading system in colorado, i don't know what the hell i'm doing.
thanks board of education.

people say dont use binders but if they work for you use them. it's more important to do what works for you!
also do not procrastinate!

Since I have implemented this system, none of my stuff has been stolen or vandalized.
omg you're like my math teacher XD nice plan tho
I just don't lend stuff to people I don't think will give it back in purpose or accident
Good luck!
+Êěshïtå D tru tru
Eeshita D even I am an Indian and very true ,Indian education system is hell.
some reasons by me about my thoughts on this fact-
they don't have lockers
we can't were casual clothes .... we have to wear uniforms
phone is not allowed
we have to take 12 classes of different subjects till 12
......etc
so cruel
well I am just in class 6 right now +I am a freshman girl
kripa sharma aa
kripa sharma I'm spanish and our education system is very similar :O
Txx rare hyungwonnn
FOR ANYONE THAT NEEDS THIS:
My dad got C's and D's in non-advanced classes all throughout high school, then got all A's in advanced college classes along with a job.
+soo ah solid advice 💕💕💕
Fuck school
As a junior I have learned that transitioning from 8th to freshman can be really difficult 😥 and confusing but you will adjust just be determined and keep persevering, it will all be worth it .
In freshman I had all A pluses and one A minus which brought down my gpa to a 3.9 and also don’t forget when transitioning yo high school 🏫 don’t forget that it is ok to ask questions no one is going to penalize you for it.
Edit; I know I wrote this late but I just wanted to share with y’all.😤
Ayyyy classs of 2024 where you at? Also I hope corona doesn’t kill it
hopefully not I wanna still graduate and not have to start high school in quarantine :/

Every one going to die one day fuck the corona
Tips for freshman -
8. Narrow your focus to important extracurriculars and take part in competitions.

im class of 2024 and its July and I'm already freaking out abt high school
How about now?😂
I know I am

when you're journaling/taking notes at school, how do you have the time in class to make the pages cute and fancy? do you take notes first and then decorate at home? i want to start doing these things but i don't think i'll have the time.
you have to have two notebooks one for quick notes in class and one for efficient cute notes later on
Write the title in pencil, do your notes as usual. Then at home while you review the material, do the highlighting and fancy title.
+Hannah Pachet same !
yes! always always sit in the front row of seats in your classroom. it has many benefits you even can't imagine. not only you will be more aware of what teacher says but teachers also tend to empathise those students more. I can tell it from my own experience. And I have been in different schools for 15 years in summary and I always chose the front seat. as a result I was best student every single year in terms of grades. thank you for this video!
+Jaroslava Pleiše SO TRU
+Marina Martinez ^^ v true!
+Iris Lucia good advice 👍🏽
studyign ~ty dear!
This video helped a lot... The beauty gurus doing these videos just tell you what not to wear and to not trust everyone.
hey class of 2023!!! I'm class of 2021 and I want to let yall know that ur gonna be okay!!!!!! and im proud of u !!!!!!!!!
I have the entire quarantine to watch these kinds of vids
heres some advice not just towards freshies, but to those who need help (but i have a different education system so i dont know those AP classes (the only ap we have is araling panlipunan which is basically philippines history...?) or that gpa thing sooo)
1. before classes start and i mean CLASSES find out what study method/s work for you. dont do it in the middle of the year because you'll stress out and panic and we dont want that.
2. take clubs that you can do. just because everyone says to join one doesnt mean you should join a sports club if you have bad stamina (unless you really want to). i cant really relate to these because in my school we're forced to join a club so academics are always balanced
3. talk to the teachers. like seriously, i spent an entire school year just throwing jokes and terrible puns at them, and hey, you might get to do new things because of them.
4. get a group chat per class (idk how that feels to have a lot of group chats so), and ask if you need help. ask your friends, your teachers if you can, just don't do it by yourself.
last and the IMPORTANT ONE i swear
5. if you fail a test and you need to improve really badly (coughs at math), study alongside someone. if they know things you dont, better. i never work well with bigger groups like with 3 because i dont like a lot of people so i stick to a pair work. i usually recommend friends because you're more open with each other.
+qaracosmos class group chats are soo useful!
+studyign i agree unless most of them dont answer ;; i only have one group chat because unlike others in my school (bcuz yey asia) we dont move classes so i only have one class, and a majority of my classmates never answer me so i resort to my friends who also doesnt know anything haha
This will be very helpful for me next year as I am currently in 8th grade.
Happy graduation!
Now you are in 11th or 12th grade. How’s life? How was highschool?
Just finished freshmen year this year. To be honest, I was really scared about it but it turned out to be a really great year! I had great teachers, worked hard, and had fun. To all incoming freshmens, relax and take a deep breath: you will survive! Enjoy it while it lasts, it goes by fast!!!!
I study architectural engineering and i'm going to start with my second year and I found this really helpful!
best of luck in your senior year!
i am in my freshman year (it’s almost over yikes) and please please please don’t procrastinate and turn in all your assignments at the end of the quarter. i made this mistake this past quarter and it really wasn’t fun. i am planning to start doing every assignment on time for the 4th quarter, and do as best as i can :)
oh and also if you are taking orchestra, please get a half inch binder for your music, it will make your life so much easier when flipping through songs or when there is a 3 or 4 page song
here is something i would reccomend.
+Jaden Walker YES I LOVE MARCHING BAND
Omg im in colorguard!
I wish I had done this (":
-Even though some universities will be test optional for years to come, keep in mind you'll need to take your ACT/SAT in junior year.

- Spanish 3
-also Im going to a performing arts high school so the other 2/8 courses will be my "prime/major". If any one has any advice please share!!
I’m a year late so you’re probably much older now but that’s great!!
lol i'm here almost done with freshman year and realized how much i screwed up... hahaha i'm trying to stay positive and work hard next year i'm starting with 3 AP classes sophomore year i really hope i'm able to cope with the work load
Could you talk about balancing time with family/friends and studying?
TIPS FOR FRESHMAN:
1) If you have any AP classes, please try to do your best.
1 will be examples or more specific information. example would be
I. Suicide Squad
A. The Power That Amanda has over the squad
1. Deadpool's daughter
+Darkangelkeyli thanks for sharing some of ur advice ☺️

I'm so proud of you Sareena. I wish I picked up my speed with high school, but my depression and anxiety got in the way. I hung onto the end with being part of the top 5% of the class. But I believe I didn't reach my full potential because of my underlying mental problems. I'm happy you've managed to hold on despite your hectic schedule. You truly are an inspiration.

+Brittany Thomas ur welcome love ❣
You should make a video for advice for juniors, since junior year is super tough and critical 😬
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm in 8th grade about to go into my highschool where not alot of my other friends are going with me. I really needed to know how to start the year thanks for the advice!
Just when I needed this 😭💕 Can't thank you enough for these tips
+A z u no problem ☺️
She is right. Try to avoid slacking off as a fresh man cuz u don’t want to get a low grade on even a little quiz. I’m currently going as a fresh man this next school year and I’m kind of nervous but confident. Also, I’m going to get Geometry. A lot of people say that is hard. Wish me luck in that class. I need to do very well next school year and try to succeed as much as I can hopefuully
i took some high school classes in middle school, but i got C's in both of them... does that affect my high school GPA?
Im too lazy for this lmfao. I prolly even chose all the hard electives and core classes. Im gonna have to get involved in something also, but Im not really interested in anything. This is gonna be a hell of a year.
Also I would recommend using a file folder for papers you won't need anymore to keep at home so you can save them for portfolios at the end of the year (if your teachers do that), but it won't weigh your backpack down with 50 pounds of papers.
30% of us are going to freshmen next year
70% of us watching this are just paranoid LMFAO

@@eatrocks6704 bahaha
I’m also 100%!!!
Same
I also graduate at 17 !!
my freshman year is coming to an end (and it happened vv fast) so my advice would be:
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS VIDEO i literally start my freshmen year after tomorrow!! thank youu 💓💓 i saved this video offline as well! 💓
+Sara Amin aw thanks for saving it and good luck this year!!
I'm going to be a freshman this year and I was so stressed but this really helps
tips:
1)put yourself out there!!
-band
- dance
- weird clubs (my school has a coloring book club)
- languages
It sounds nerdy or not fun, but I have met so many people that I wouldn't have met if I hadn't have done these things. My school has band practice before school starts, so everyone can meet each other and the freshman get to meet each other. Also, my school has a thing called club fair (i don't know if it's just my school), but everyone goes to the library during school and sign up for clubs they might be interested in. It's fun to skip out of class, but also, everyone is going, so the point is to find out what you might want to do
2)sleep.
I’m taking all AP classes I hope it’s not hard
Good luck to you.
I'm currently in year 9 (freshman year) and one of the things I learnt was... Don't sweat the small stuff like popularity because that will not concern you in layer life
CLASS OF 2023!
Who's scared for high school next year??
hella scared and watching these self help videos to comfort my anxiety lmao
I’m a sophomore this year so I can give advise looking back on my freshman year.
Don’t worry too much. Freshman year isn’t that hard and it’s not something to be scared about.
Enjoy it, like I said it’s gonna be an easy year, appreciate your lack of homework it only gets worse from there.
Try new things. Don’t be afraid to pursue interests or see if you like a class. I’m doing wrestling and mock trial this year. This is my first year ever doing a sport. And my first year of mock trial. Try new things is what I’m trying to say
Talk to your teachers.
