tip: write all your test grades for each topic in a subject and when final exams come near, go to the topic with the lowest grade and study that a little more than the others. the grades will help you figure out what your first priority is
*gets ready for bed* SAREENA JUST POSTED *gets on phone and watches video then starts watching others* Sareena,I love you sooo much, such an inspiration.
1. Try listening to nature sounds if regular music distracts you too much. Spotify has good playlists with ocean, rain, etc. sounds to try. 2. Putting a sticker or logo of your dream college on your planner gives you a little more motivation to work hard. 3. Print out multiple copies your schedule and put it in your locker, room, and the fronts of your binders so you always know what order your classes are in and when you have free time. 4. If you have a mac and you have to use your laptop for assignment, turn your messages on do not disturb to help you focus.
I have an incredibly helpful tip for college. make a google document and gather around 5-10 people who want to participate and share the document to them. So basically during a professor lecture, every lecture the group drops down notes into the google document in separate pages. If there are any confusing parts to the lecture you drop down a question in a different colored text and the rest of the person tries to answer the question. Not only does it answer questions for confused people but it also refreshes the memory of the person who answered it
my biggest problem is that i start studying one day and then i go to sleep and when i wake up the next morning i dont feel like studying at all, its like my motivation has changed during my sleep. if anyone can help me , ill be happy
LostinParadiisee the biggest tip I would offer is to make studying convenient for you. Place your books and whatever else you use in the place where you are most likely to go to first or the place you first see when you wake up. That way you can get a little bit of studying in (study for an hour, or 30 mins or 1 and 1/2 hours...really whatever works for you). After that get some breakfast and calculate the time it takes you to have breakfast and complete your morning routine. Then after you are done get back to studying and only study with breaks. Now, if you know you cant get back to studying after breakfast etc- and this is why you should calculate the time it takes for you to complete your morning routine- add to that time 20 or 30 extra minutes and set an alarm or a timer. That way you have some extra time in case something went wrong in your morning routine or some extra time to chill in case you were feeling a hit more lazy. For example, I wake up at 8 because its summer now and im lazy and bored (heh) and I study for an hour and a half. Then my morning routine, my breakfast take about an hour and so I set a timer for an hour and a half. Then I study until my break comes etc. If you still find it hard to focus during your study time id recommend apps like cold turkey that enable you to freeze all of the fun apps in your phone and apps like quizlet that help you take test, make flashcards etc. (I thought quizlet wouldn't work and that it was completely unnecessary but it actually qorks really well. You can review your notes outside or have the app read the text in the flashcards in case you have to clean and you also wanna study and in case your eyes are tired. It works seriously!). Another thing you could do is have yourself answer a true or false question before completing a task. So say you wanna go in your room or lay in your bed· Have a true or false q or a multiple choice question on your door or laying somewhere (conveniently! :p). P.S. I simply cannot stress the importance of breaks and vacation or just days off!! Use them wisely! They are super important! When you have a break from school be very chill about your studying. Definitely have some days where you do nothing related to studying. On off days dont study at all and on breaks get your mind of your studying or h/w.
Some people can study right away after waking up, and some people need more momentum. If you're the type that needs momentum, try doing small, mindless chores (making your bed, light exercise, washing dishes, etc.) before studying. This let's your brain go into "productive mode" and you'll be more willing to do productive tasks like studying! I won't write the details here, but if you want to know more I suggest searching up "how to solve the I wake up with no motivation problem by Thomas Frank". He explains this idea very well and it has helped me a lot.
Regarding the music thing: When studying subjects like math,it helps to listen to familiar songs with lyrics you know by heart already,so they wont distract a lot. When studying subjects like sociology, history or anything where you need to read a lot of pages of material with little or no pictures, listen to music without lyrics. I like music like God is an Astronaut and similar bands but my boyfriend prefers gaming or anime music because it hypes him up for studying. :)
my own personal tip: i have a school agenda/planner and i used to never use mine but i got some nice pens and markers and started making it pretty and i write down EVERYTHING (even if i dont need to) in my agenda now!
We're going into college at the same time (I just moved into my dorm) but I always feel like you're several steps ahead of me... and I love it! Feels like I have a very academics-oriented sister coming along with me. I love your channel and try to utilize your advice all the time. Much love
I really love your videos and I think they make me and everyone else feel so much better and confident in what we can and should do with our lives. I really just want to thank you so much for always making these videos even though you probably have a lot on your plate!
i like printing pictures i like and putting them on my notebooks/binders bc it makes me happy every time i see it ahah i need any happiness i can get in school :)
Find online practice tests!! For example, search “protein synthesis test” and do one or two. Sometimes you get lucky and your teacher uses the exact same test.
Very strange to you guys, probably, but for me, sometimes I get really burnt out after working on one thing for too long. I work, and work, and work, and I get to a point where my brain just says no and I need to take a break. And I do. Just not one of those chillax and scroll through tumblr breaks. What I do is refocus on a totally different topic. I know left and right brains supposedly don't exist, but if I get burnt out doing a right brain activity, I move to a left brain activity. That way I can still be productive while still resting parts of my brain.
I really want to study effectively, take cute notes, have all kinds of notebooks to study from but all these things you use/ buy are very expensive for me and my family. So I was wondering if you could make a video or at least mention how to studyblr on a budget. Also I really love your channel it has inspired me so much and I can see how much effort you put in each video. Love from Turkey
I don't often comment but I just want to say how much I love your videos! They're super informative and aesthetically pleasing but fun and entertaining at the same time!!! (Which is so hard to find) You've inspired me to start a studyblr and take school a little more seriously this year! I really love stationery and learning so I want to make it fun again. Anyways, I loooove your videos and your tumblr, thank you so much for sharing what you create with us and motivating the laziest student (me)!!!
tawnyflower678 9 what?! It's just the start of August! In ireland we don't start school till after the 1st of September (.ie we start the 4th this year because the 1st is a friday) and in secondary school you may come in the week before for 1-2hrs for one day just to meet your year head, home room teacher and get your homework diary and timetable. Also in secondary school we finish at the end of may (if you don't have state exams which is in 2 years of 6 so mostly you finish at may) and primary school kiddies finish end of june
I know insane right? At my school, if you want to take AP classes, it means getting a lot more work and starting early. I was assigned to a huge study packet and an essay requirement over the summer and I have to take the first test to the class tomorrow, a week before school even starts! It's mostly just remembering a lot of vocab and facts.
Something that helped me a TON while in college was finding my study aid, aka caffeine. The chemical response of caffeine does not make me feel 'awake' but it helps me maintain focus. When writing papers, reading for class, completing projects, or studying for exams and finals I would have a steady supply of coffee, tea, or energy drinks. When I was not working on school stuff I would stay away from those drinks to keep myself from building a tolerance. I know other people who have specific snacks, music, environments, or other forms of stimulation that help them study. It is important to find what helps you and to use it when studying and keep away during leisure time.
For me what I found best doing was re-writing everything. I use my binder to do rough drafts of things we need to write down in class because the teacher is not going to stop for you take pretty notes and when I get home, I write it on much nicer paper two times and put one in a folder with the rest of the subject notes and the other one in my binder with the rough copy so that way when I need to study at home I don't need to take out my binder out of bag and it's already there at my desk, but if I need it at school I don't need to have the folder with me because I already have a nice copy inside. Besides, re-writing things also helps you remember. I also use sticky notes to mark down pages I need help with so on the next day I can instantly go to the page and ask my teacher for help instead of flipping through my notebook five times before finding the page that I needed help with.
*ESSAY TIP:* Use sites like thesaurus.com, dictionary.com, textinflator.com, and grammar.ly to have longer essays and reports. You yourself can use 'big' words that you already know in these essays. Combining all of these together can turn a sentence into a paragraph. Good for surpassing word limits and page limits. *EXAMPLE:* Today I shall be writing a book report. = Today I specifically intend to actually participate in the act of composing a book report in a major way.
Yes I think to hear music during studying kinda helps because I feel like I'm less bored and actually work but I only do it for math because I'm reading and science I have to read and I can't consentrait on reading and listening to music
A tip I would like to add is that ask a friend or if it's a group ask your group mates To create a quiz for you and your friends and make a score board .sit together and solve the quiz and the one who gets Lower score gives a treat at stuff like that this allows us to read the content better as we concentrate on making the quiz as hard as possible.
this is a study tip , I noticed for math that works for me, When I do problems for the 1st time I speak out aloud each step ( like your talking to explaining to someone else ) while I am working out the problem. I notice that I comprehend it more better. You can always record yourself while during a set of problems and use it for later reference :) I hope this help for students who have different with Math. This fall I am enrolled in trig so ya lol
For the music hack you can actually use a timer, select the amount of time you are going to be listening to music then in the alarm choice page, scroll down until you find the stop playing alarm. So when the timer is done. All it does is stop playing your music. On whatever app you use.
What I usually do to get my mind set on something in school and using my curiosity to my advantage, I make hypotheses of what will happen in each chapter and I won't stop being curious until I do find out if I am correct or wrong or on the right track
I and also what I do before taking a practice test 1. Review 2. Read a book on a different topic or just for fun for 10 min 3. Take the practice test 4. Check 5. Read the book again for 5 min 6. Double Check 7. Correct Reading the book will train your brain to be able to pull facts from your head if your teacher doesn't let you have a few min of review time before the quiz/test/exam And also reading the book after you check the 1st time can help you spot out more mistakes that you may have missed the 1st time
Tips: °•Use highlighters/sticky notes if you're a visual person (like me)•° °•Studying with lo-fi songs are useful because there are no lyrics, and it has nice beats•° °•Have a positive mind set!! It helps :)•° °•Self-care is important, remember to shower, drink water, eat and get plenty of sleep AT LEAST 5 hrs•° °•Don't slack in class!! This is the first video on a while I watch 12 hours after it's posted... I start senior year tommorow so I've been retraining my sleep schedule. This is right on time!
I am about to change schools for this year, and I just found out something terrifying; we won't be having desks with space OR lockers, (which are saved for the higher level students in the same building) meaning, the only space I will have is my backpack. I would be so glad if you could do a video about being organized with minimal space. Your videos are a life saver!
I've been watching your videos since my freshmen year of high school- I'm now a junior and I can honestly say that your videos have helped me sooooooo much💗
My parents had promised my sister and I MacBooks this summer but in the end they could only afford one, and since I'm already in highschool and she's just starting, they decided she needed it most. I can either save up to buy one myself, or I can get a Lenovo yoga, but idk which I should do. Any suggestions?
Goksu Boz get the lenova. Trust me, I've tried macbooks and they are really hard to use if your used to a normal computer with windows because the format is literally another planet. I really advise you not to pay more for the macbook the lenova is gonna be much easier to use.
Goksu Boz Yes, get the Lenovo one! I personally changed from a MacBook to the Lenovo Yoga, as these are much more faster and compatible and plus, they're touch screen! They are sleeker and smoother than MacBooks (I personally believe so). And also you're getting something better than a MacBook for a much better price!
I don’t want to sound rude and maybe things are different in your country but in the Uk a student at the start of high school doesn’t need a laptop to themselves, you do! In Scotland your later years are more important than your first couple.
I'm so early. I'm with you since 40k and I love you so much❤️ You honestly changed my life! Thanks to you, I discovered bullet journaling and now I can't imagine a day without it
I love your channel so so much. You give out amazing tips. I know this are not your tips but your other videos where you give out your own tips they are amazing. You motivate me so much.
because your brain requires energy to when you are studying. I'm not a nutritionist but I believe snacks such as fruit is a great study snack because the carbs can be easily converted to sugar. Also, before you study, you can eat a sandwich (preferably whole grain bread). Correct me if I'm wrong tho :)
A piece of advice: Change your angle so that the audience can see what you are writing it when you are writing. Since you are left-handed, the straight-above angle isn't good for that. Love your videos!
I remember seeing a quote from a Marine that said you should MAKE YOUR BED! If you make your bed as soon as you wake up, you've already accomplished something. That one small accomplishment can motivate you with all the other things you will accomplish in that day
I just love your videos so so much that....if i get a notification regarding your new video being posted... i can't really resist watching it, that too as soon as possible regardless of however busy i may be...
Can you make a video on how to deal with a bad teacher? I'm taking AP Chem this year and I've heard bad things about the teacher. I'm really nervous :/
My study tip: study according to what type of learner you are!! There's generally 4 categories: interacting with text, auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. As an artist I'm a visual learner, so I incorporate charts, make my notes visually pleasing and organized with color, make mind maps, and draw out connections between topics. It helps a ton in understanding and retaining info! If you don't know what you are there's tons of quick self quizzes to google, then just look up tactics for your type of learning, and get that A! ;)
My tips: -Try listening to repetitive music, such as mantras or Enya while studying -HELP others. Create a healthy study group. You'll maybe study slower, but better. You'll have lasting insights, and learning will be a pleasure. -
tip: write all your test grades for each topic in a subject and when final exams come near, go to the topic with the lowest grade and study that a little more than the others. the grades will help you figure out what your first priority is
Ive been using this technique this school year and ended the first semester with a 3.9 GPA!
sum surprise surprise, all my classes from low grades
this is clutch ty!!

I need these study tips when I go to college 😭
Love your dp
I need it for when I go to middle school next year
Did u go to college?:0
I use Tip #4 all the time and it's so helpful! I also use specific albums because it gets me in the study mood
Congratulations 🎊 for 300k!
LostinParadiisee I have this problem too. Hopefully well find something, just commenting so I can get notifications for it too

Try to find videos or something about what you need to know maybe that would be interesting and it could motivate you
school starts in a week for me so I'm binge watching your videos!

A tip I would like to add is that ask a friend or if it's a group ask your group mates
To create a quiz for you and your friends and make a score board .sit together and solve the quiz and the one who gets Lower score gives a treat at stuff like that this allows us to read the content better as we concentrate on making the quiz as hard as possible.

We need more pretty and calming videos like this instead of all the videos which tell you the same thing over and over again.
I am now subscribed :)
I was so needing this! Tysm!
For the music hack you can actually use a timer, select the amount of time you are going to be listening to music then in the alarm choice page, scroll down until you find the stop playing alarm. So when the timer is done. All it does is stop playing your music. On whatever app you use.

The technique of using the length of an album as your work time is BRILLIANT im totally going to use that today!
Literally she helps me so much and I watched her videos and it helped me improve my grades. ILYSM!!

This is the first video on a while I watch 12 hours after it's posted... I start senior year tommorow so I've been retraining my sleep schedule. This is right on time!
The boy who cried wolf by passenger is a great album to read or study to it
Thanks

Mahadevan Jayasugunthan ikr!
you hit 300k!!!! congrats!!!!!

Study tips for elementary school
I am a huge fan of yours so please please please do this video for me
Thanks! I'll be sure to refer to this video throughout the school year!
What other activities/clubs did you do in high school in and outside of school other than music?
I love your channel, thank you for the tips.I will try the tips 4 and 17.
I said "hey guys!" Out loud as soon as I clicked on the video 🙌🏽

This video was great!!

And also you're getting something better than a MacBook for a much better price!
lenovo yoga is good get that one
MacBooks are nice, but they're not necessary for high school. Go with what you can afford right now. Having your own laptop really helps.
Lol when she said fix your sleep schedule I laughed bc I'm watching this at 12:30 a.m. 😂😂😂
Whenever I start studying I feel so hungry
because your brain requires energy to when you are studying. I'm not a nutritionist but I believe snacks such as fruit is a great study snack because the carbs can be easily converted to sugar. Also, before you study, you can eat a sandwich (preferably whole grain bread). Correct me if I'm wrong tho :)
The Star Wars soundtracks are wonderful for studying because they're classical and calming!!
hi random people
A piece of advice: Change your angle so that the audience can see what you are writing it when you are writing. Since you are left-handed, the straight-above angle isn't good for that.
Love your videos!
I was just about to put on all your videos on repeat when I got the notification
i was actually just looking for something like this so this is perfect!!! thanks!!!!!!!
I love the google doc!! :) Thank you so much - it's such a great idea!

I love how many notebooks Sareena has because i RELATE
so early yasss! all the best for your college! love you!
I remember seeing a quote from a Marine that said you should MAKE YOUR BED! If you make your bed as soon as you wake up, you've already accomplished something. That one small accomplishment can motivate you with all the other things you will accomplish in that day
For the music one I listen to study beats on Spotify or lofi beats because I like beats there are no lyrics for me to get distracted.
Great video, all the tips sound very helpful and beneficial.
I graduated high school and will get into college just in 3 years, and still watch it
I love this, idky but to me this is super calming

Can you make a video on how to deal with a bad teacher? I'm taking AP Chem this year and I've heard bad things about the teacher. I'm really nervous :/
I also have ap chem this year with a teacher I'm nervous about. any tips would be great!!
If you don't know what you are there's tons of quick self quizzes to google, then just look up tactics for your type of learning, and get that A! ;)
I'm a visual learner, too!! owo
i love your videos 💕💕
if you need to use music but find it distracting listen to classical music. I find it really helps.
Im starting school tomorrow, wish me luck 😁😁
Another tip could be to go to the library, this could help keep from diddly daddling around your bedroom or house.
diddly daddling 😂i'm going to have to start using it
ok wow I've always seen "omg I'm so early" comments and I can never relate and now I can omg
thank youuu😄

i watch these as if i'd follow these rules lmao my lazy ass wishes
It's the first day of summer...

back to school videos...
My tips:
-Try listening to repetitive music, such as mantras or Enya while studying
-HELP others. Create a healthy study group. You'll maybe study slower, but better. You'll have lasting insights, and learning will be a pleasure.
-
When you're in marching band so band camp forces you to start waking up earlier
THANK YOU SO MUCH SAREENA!!!
- if your school gave you a laptop/tablet, only use it for schoolwork. get yourself in the habit of preparing to do work when you turn it on
