Jarvie, this is one of the most incredible builds I have ever seen in my life, and you are an inspiration - but I HIGHLY recommend you incorporate a basic tubular steel rollbar / support structure. This is going to be a very light, and very impressive car performance wise, but your safety is very important - and a fiberglass monocoque likely will not fare well in a rollover situation. It will also massively increase the torsional rigidity of the car - mainly if you are able to tie the cage into the subframe mounting points. Even as just a roll cage that is bolted to the monocoque it will make the car much stiffer. I understand if this is an unwelcome suggestion for such a change - as this is YOUR vision, but I ask you to please consider it. - Dean.

@@Lennox1012 No - you might be thinking of something else he said. The Arete project utilizes a fiberglass / Kevlar reinforced monocoque and a occupant safety structure / semi stressed roll bar. (He posted about the occupant safety structure earlier this day) Happy to see it.

@@dylan4972 Book wise, I would suggest you read about materials. Once you know what is available you can chose the appropriate medium. There is a magazine (online now) called "Machine Design" that is an excellent resource. They on occasion print materials in book form that are always full of knowledge. Think up a small project and dive in- Maybe something for your wife . . .drag her in all the way. I can attest to the "build at home in your spare time." Several years ago I built a Locost - Lotus Seven replica - in my 1200 sf shop. It took 2 years of spare time while learning new skills, sourcing parts, and having the best experience of my life (with clothes on). I'm currently building a Jetta Smyth Ute, and one thing I've learned with both builds is that you need to at least quadruple your schedule for redesigns, fixing mistakes, days off, and unexpected events.

I am amazed at your visualization, production and construction, and finally the end product. What engineering skills you have! I'm still at awe. Literally speechless. Good luck with your future projects. I'll still be watching your channel. Take care.

Yes, it is the visualization that gets me along, the fabrication skills are secondary. Thanks for watching.

This is very inspiring. Im glad you are doing this it gives me an idea of what I will be doing for my super car. I'm trying to secure a work space at my uncles house in Puerto Rico so I can do this over a 6 month period or faster. I'm constructing a list of things I may need as well as researching the nearby hardware stores near his house. I wanna build it using a 3D Printer. As for the chassis I'm still on the fence of where to go. I have the chassis plans for a Lamborghini Diablo BUT!!!! I have seen many different chassis plans for mid engined cars online.

This is an AMAZING video, especially seeing the inventive ways you approach things such as that awesome method for fabricating control arms!!

Have you watched the entire series? A lot more "inventive" ways shown. Thanks for watching.
