***** I'm not advocating anti-German propaganda, I'm just expressing that I like the way this was done, as in effects, costume styles, and things as such. Of course i would love a storyline added to this, but I really could not care less if it was anti-German or not. The main character could convert to Nazism for all care and the series could turn anti-Capitalist and anti-American but I still watch it. Besides, who are you to try to put down historical fiction such as this? Germans FROM THE ERA were monsters, and, save a couple of groups, most of the population can agree on that and many would like to watch THOSE Germans being depicted as what they were, horrible brainwashed people. This movie isn't depicting modern day Germans as evil, just the past ones. Hell, the Japanese did horrible things in the World War II era (Does Pearl Harbor ring a bell?) and they are depicted as having done so in movies, but that doesn't affect the way we see Japanese people nowadays does it? Who looks up wealthy Japanese business owners and immediately thinks of Kamikaze tactics? Not me, and I'm sure there are many, many others, if not most people, who think like I do. So, please, don't try to spoil something with your own close-minded interpretations and let others enjoy what they may.
Really really good authentic costumes, and all the props are very accurate. Critics get hung up on what exactly they use forgetting that they also mixed and matched what they had on stock and used it. You can see this in period films and photos. They had a mix of uniforms and equipment ranging from the desert war to Kriegsmarine. Generally the flak guns wouldn't be a direct shot and the planes would be hit by 'shotgun' style. So your direct shot made the flak scene unbelievable, though it's POSSIBLE ,and in reality that would be a lucky direct hit. But because it's a movie it would look contrived and armchair critics would jump on you. Some stereotype of Germans and stiff acting but overall great work. Camera and directing really good, Great lighting. Thanks for your film! Keep up the great work!
I haven't seen the whole thing (up until his helmet gets knocked off by a tank shell) but I LOVE how he says "You have got to be kidding me" to me it just makes him sound more human then a shell of someone walking around shooting people
God damn.... I was watching this "Short Film" as if it was a real "Marvel like" movie. Something like a mixture....of....Iron Man, Ant man and Captain America. This was well done....excellent work.
This was quite good. I am an amature WWII equipment historian and I found absolutely nothing wrong with any of the war equipment. And, I was very surprised by how good the acting is. Top job, well done.
Just one small thing....Inside the plane it needs to be noisy.....if youve ever ridden in one of those.....its loud as heck...and you have to shout to be heard.
i saw 1 thing gear whise, there was a MOLLE pouch in the plane on one of the guys lap, i dont think they used ACU camo MOLLE in ww2, but it was flashed by for 5 secs and never seen again.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
I just watched this (ten yrs late!) I loved seeing the P-61 Black Widow. I can't think of a single Hollywood movie with that plane in it. And it looks like they used an authentic Sd.Kfz. 251 too! 👍
Agree, that's the problem with most "shorts" They're not complete "films" but aspire to be more, leaving them as just teasers and long trailers. (or set up for a sequel?)
***** Unfortunately very few shorts actually get turned into full-length movies, or have a sequel. Even when a short IS turned into a movie, it's never a direct continuation or sequel to the original short, so what purpose does it serve to leave the short unfinished. To me, it seems more like the creators of most short films just aren't very good writers. They come up with an interesting premise, or a cool action sequence, but don't know where to go from there. They don't film an ending because they have no idea HOW to end it.
lurkerrekrul I do not think you even begin to understand where these "shorts" come from, why they exist, who makes them and why they are not (generally) ever "made into features". Seriously.
Scott Clinton Someone gets a cool idea for a scene, wants to show off their filmmaking skills, but has no idea how to write a decent story to go with it.
The acting was also very good although as a german speaker I had a smile sometimes when the actors were talking, BUT! It was very well played! Good luck for further projects, this one deserves more publicity
Who needs full length movies? I'd watch two three four of these in a row. Wanna get funding for a full length feature? make these and skip the billion dollar price tag.

This is really high quality stuff, I love these kind of short films. Knowing what I know though, I kinda disconnected when he survived 2 high explosive rounds from an 88, then couldnt hurt the Ferdinand with a Panzershreck, but the 20mm from the black widow destroyed it by going through its side armor.....its a bit much for me but I still apreciate how well made it is.
This short film was excellent in many different ways. Good casting, acting, story, dialogue, special effects, 3d, directing, lighting, camera handling, editing, music among other things. I'd say that the crew who did this is probably ready for prime-time in the theaters. Nicely done.
+Francis Roy I agree. Fuck the naysayers. Many of these short films are better than feature length films. And without doubt, these short flix are much better than the crap-infused-movies produced by the "Syfy" channel. But in defense of those circumcision-chewing critics (it's okay, we know)- the comments are hilarious more often than not . . . so please- all parties involved in the topless car wash fundraiser that is taking place in a fortnight- email Mr. Rizzo so he'll know where to go . . .
Phil FeralViscera LOL! On the team are you? :) But seriously, people's expectation, especially those who are not involved in this kind of project, have become so incredibly high that it is easy to dismiss what is genuinely good work. Doing and judging are two different things. Part of making a better world includes recognizing flaws, but the other part is recognizing that which is well done. Too often people indulge in the easy self-satisfaction of acting as if they are in a position to do former without doing the work of doing the latter. Even fewer are those who can do both, evenhandedly.
+Francis Roy You hit the nail on the head... For people on the outside looking in, a project can be soo easily picked apart. Considering they never had a hand in the process. But to the person enveloped in that process (& having been there in its variant capacities)--both Pre & Post Production-- the understanding is a LOT more keen & appreciated. My thoughts?? This would make an excellent videogame, the action figure line would be amazing as well. (Like the detailed Batman 12" Figures) Well thought out and the storyboarding in the credits leaves one hungry for more..
+M Lee Not talking bad about the film itself, but video game? It will be just another repetition. Just look at Wolfenstein. Needless to say that making figurines is pretty much stretching it. Let's just take it for what it is (as it is the logical thing to do, with no raised expectations), a good short film.
Mechknight73 It's so obvious these actors don't speak or know german. Sometimes even I had problems configuring what they were saying even with the subtitles and I'm fluent in both German and English. Either way I think they made a good effort to pronounce things as best as they could.
First rule of language; consult someone that's a native speaker wherever possible. There is a site called Engrish.com that makes it abundantly clear why. It's not just Asian countries that do it, Americans have been VERY guilty of it in the past too. For example, Chevrolet wanted to sell a small (in Europe it would be a medium) sized car called the Nova in Mexico and beyond. They were initially puzzled by why nobody bought it, until one of their Mexican salesmen explained why. Nova is Spanish for No Go, so nobody bought it. Mitsubishi almost made an even bigger blunder in Europe, but were saved the embarrassment by one of their Execs. The 4WD you know as the Shogun in Europe is known as Pajero in Australia. Which happens to be the Spanish word for wanker. We Australians still laugh at that, that they thought nobody here would notice. It was mere weeks before the European launch they discovered the Spanish meaning for the name, and changed it to Shogun to spare themselves the embarrassment
THERE IS SO MUCH TALENT OUTSIDE HOLLYWOOD THAT IT SELDOM COMES OUT. THANKS TO TH-cam WE CAN SEE THE GLIMPSE OF WHAT WE MISS IN HOLLYWOOD FILMS. THIS IS SO INTRIGUING THAT IT MAKES ME FORGET EVERYTHING WHEN I START TO SEE IT.
Even an idea alone can be a powerful thing. This short raises a lot of reality changing questions. Honestly **surprised it hasn't been taken down for its controversy. Question everything my friends, especially those things you claim to already know. So much more goes on behind the scenes than we really know. "Buried within history lies a secret war." Very well done Michael Chance
Watching in 2024 and for an 11 year old indie short, it really holds up. I loved the premise of the film and the production value was much better than I was expecting. Great job!
Groß. Einfach toll. In einer Welt voller Übersetzungsmatrizen streiten sich zwei Leute über schlechtes Deutsch, als würden sie es tatsächlich miteinander verbalisieren. Meine Güte!
+Brutal Games Mixture nine is a virus that the Nazis where preparing, for use in biological warfare. The Americans created project arbiter to stop the Nazis' plans, and stop the release of the virus. That is the story of this film.
The German seemed... quite off in parts, or at least the translations were inaccurate sometimes. Nevertheless, it was very impressive and intriguing and it certainly entertained me more than 99% of what Hollywood spews out today. I am left wanting more. Also, would a behind the scenes be available at some point, perhaps explaining where the props (especially the vehicles) were acquired?
Beautiful film. Great practical effects with just the right amount of CGI. I'd watch a feature film of this with a more experienced cast. ...but why the heated knife? It's a terrible weapon that cauterizes its own wounds, thereby reducing its combat effectiveness by about 80%.
+Chris Schryer In the end, it makes for good drama and from a storytelling perspective... It signalled that the character was NOT an ordinary soldier, worth the addition from that perspective - since you only have 15 minutes of storytelling time. The suit was absolutely awesome, and that mask? Pretty horrifying. I liked that fact that it looked period enough. And he really does look like death incarnate. The designer gets major props for his work. 9.5 out of 10 on Dieselpunk-ishness, in my estimation.
+Chris Schryer what if some of the nazis already had "mixture 9" in them and when heat comes in contact with the mixture it becomes lethal. Yes I know its a little far fetched.
Though the German speech is not good, the acting is first rate, and the story is believable. I noted that some commenting here were comparing the suit to that of Iron Man. While there are some similarities, the differences are enough to make this unique. Iron Man does not have cloaking technology, and the suits power unit also keeps Stark alive. This suit is killing its wearer. Also the knife has a special ability to burn a man from the inside. The was a nice special effects touch to this film. Now about that language problem. Many top film makers have done no better with their productions; so it is not so different from other films in that department. I do agree that it is something that must be addressed, but the other film makers need to address it too. In my opinion, this film was made as good as it could be, by a film maker who likely has limited funds for a budget. What was achieved with it was at the top of great film making. With the exception of the language problem, I would rate this film with 4.75 stars. A great job indeed!
Great Short! To start with, it is nice for a change to set a SCI FI story in WW2. Acting was good, the production looked expensive and professional. Graphics and VFXs great, the story looks valid, waiting for the next part.
Best scifi short I've seen to date. Would love to see this with backstory and extended main story. After all...what is Mixture 9? Very professional acting, directing, and editing. VFX could use fine tuning. Other than that, very professional.
+Naj Kraemer Because its not a damn documentary, how can a suit go invisible? Also because of the fact that it is not real and extremely fictionalized entertainment.
Daniel goog how can a suit go invisible?* Well this technology is realistic and will be used in the enar future...... but a bullet destroying a tank??????? No. so go home...
+Naj Kraemer The point went over your head, because you aren't intelligent. The point it, this is FICTION, which means it is NOT true and/or does not exist.
+Naj Kraemer you don't seem to get it.. he said it is fiction.. which means everything is possible... there could've been a frigde falling from the sky onto the tank smashing it 10 meters into the dirt.. he never said it was logical or realistic.. or even possible.. and neither do i, it was a freaking fictional short film and a pretty good one i think.. atleast it was well made :D now go and watch "Red Tails".. a P-51 destroys a freaking ship in there. (would've made (kinda) sense with rockets or bombs.. but they're killing it with the freaking .50cals..) or "Fury" literally the most unrealistic and insulting towards german soldiers movie i've ever seen.. German soldier Fritz Christen destroyed 13 tanks in 3 days ALONE, SS-volunteer Gerardus Mooyman destroyed 13 tanks in 1 night ALONE, 1 battalion of Waffen-SS armed with Anti-Tank weapons COULD NOT destroy 1 disabled tank.. "Best job I ever had".. back to the short film.. if you view it from a realistic point.. whatever the armor plating was which he was wearing.. atleast something should've penetrated especially shrapnels of the 8,8cm shell landing 2 meters away from him.. or some of the guards which were pretty much useless and suprisingly stupid.. also invisibility in ww2? it's not even possible now. they won't make any human beeing invisible for the next 30 years either.. there are some other things too, but you get the point.. (i hope..) sorry for my bad english and my weird writing :P
sort of felt like a Wolfenstein short. gun noises were all the same as the bazooka from Rise of the Triad. sometimes I wish I didn't hear generic sfx in everything. otherwise, pretty cool.
Good question - mission brief at start of film has Tom relaying they have new details about Reiner and they course correct to intercept him. Window of opportunity thing. They did not mean to fly that close to the villa so the pilot's heading was off.
I know they that it's the chemical that they put it in the patients. But what for? It must do something other than create those things on their skin and kill them in the process. I mean you can kill people in more faster and efficient ways so It would be pointless to make something like this and protect it this well when all it does is kill the host.
Excellent short film. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate quality and quantity doesn't necessarily compensate. Your 21 minute film is better than many 2 1/2 hour films.
midnightmosesuk i guess mr. science wouldn´t tell the soldier because that was one information the US military needed, so he figured his chances to survive were risen if he kept it to himself for as long as he could (imo they both get that judging by the long look they give eachother there). also, it would probably just become cheap fake science talk, there is no point in explaining.
8:11 The Ferdinand probably wasn't the best choice of tank to send, considering its inability to effectively fight infantry and its lack of maneuverability.
This was - bar none - one of the best sci-fi short films I've seen in quite a while. I would love for this to be made into a series or full-length feature. Bravo to all involved in the production!

This was one of the best shorts I've seen on here. Everything about it was good. Now, make it a full feature length film please!
BEST SHORT FILM ON TH-cam WHERES PART 2!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice short Movie ! The german language from the english actors are so funny :D
I was laughing about that right away. Bin halb Deutsch.
Thomas de Graff Ich bins ganz... ;)
Much easier to read the subtitles as try to listen, i must say...but i have heard more bad things.
Das ist die Wahrheit!
BAD ASS MOVIE!! BAD ASS SOLDIER!! GREAT FILM ** WISH IT WERE LONGER THOUGH....LOVED IT******
As a german, the accent of the nazis is found to be hilarious in my opinion.
***** Nah, sometimes they are spoken by german people. But yes mostly.
+Deer Viehch man, you're lucky you're not russian.)
DouViction i can imagine the pain
+Deer Viehch Lustig oder

THERE IS SO MUCH TALENT OUTSIDE HOLLYWOOD THAT IT SELDOM COMES OUT. THANKS TO TH-cam WE CAN SEE THE GLIMPSE OF WHAT WE MISS IN HOLLYWOOD FILMS. THIS IS SO INTRIGUING THAT IT MAKES ME FORGET EVERYTHING WHEN I START TO SEE IT.
great job! Even better than some Hollywood movies...
This will be easier then Warsaw.
I love that line.
If he meant really easy, he should have said "Vienna".
WHAT IS MIXTURE 9. I literally want to know.
Cool aid and vodka
Water! Yes, ordinary water, laced with nothing more than a few spoonfuls of LSD.
Bioweapon. Not like the Nazis could make a nuke even in alternate history stories.
It is a bit better than mixture 8
sixnineeeeeeeeeeee rainbowshit right into your blood
Very impressive, I hope you get to make more.
Watching in 2024 and for an 11 year old indie short, it really holds up. I loved the premise of the film and the production value was much better than I was expecting. Great job!
This could really do with a sequel.
Da!
Ja!
"... And your german is quite bad."
Well, so is yours :D
Hab ich mir auch gedacht😂😂😂
Groß. Einfach toll. In einer Welt voller Übersetzungsmatrizen streiten sich zwei Leute über schlechtes Deutsch, als würden sie es tatsächlich miteinander verbalisieren. Meine Güte!
Are you a dumbass
Isn't it about time this was developed into a feature length film? After release financiers would definitely be in the black.
Here we are, five years hence, and still we know nothing about Mixture 9, nor the fate of this ensemble. THAT is the real tragedy.
Well, what is mixture 9?
Great short film. In my opinion the best short film I've ever seen on youtube
+Brutal Games Mixture nine is a virus that the Nazis where preparing, for use in biological warfare. The Americans created project arbiter to stop the Nazis' plans, and stop the release of the virus. That is the story of this film.
Very well done, hope to see more of it.
Totally not allowed! You can't make something as awesome as this so short! more! MORE!
I agree about the German being "off" in some parts.
This was a kickass movie though! Just wish it was longer, seeing as it took AGES to finally come out. :(
Me too :(
This was the greatest short film I’ve ever seen in my life !
Amazing work.
awesome, just AWESOME :D
This is too good for a "short film". I want to see EVERYTHING about this for two hours (or more).
''Your german is quite bad'',that line make me chuckle.
Very cool, will there be a sequel/ series?
I hope so. And the end doesn't make sense if it won't continue
Brilliant film, I'd love to see a full length film like that.
This needs to be completed
That was FUCKING AWESOME!
PLEASE make a sequel please?
these custom made films look far more better and more interesting than what Hollywood can produce!
great job! :)
More?
No if you know what a short film is, just a short version of a movie. If there were more they would have a really long badass movie :P
I know full well what you are talking about. but I wants me some more.
***** Well...WHO DOSENT? #More
none of that # crap >.>.... bad, bad dragon person.
***** Nooo, you du bad juan ovaa heerrree, i just try tu b liek uuu an say mooor
Beautiful film. Great practical effects with just the right amount of CGI. I'd watch a feature film of this with a more experienced cast.
...but why the heated knife? It's a terrible weapon that cauterizes its own wounds, thereby reducing its combat effectiveness by about 80%.
+Chris Schryer 83%
+playersrun1 83.829%
+Chris Schryer
In the end, it makes for good drama and from a storytelling perspective...
+Chris Schryer Could be same as a "wasp knive", look it up
Great production! Way to leave a cliffhanger!! Boy do I want more!!!!
A great job indeed!
dat acting... dem special effects... dat plot...
Great Short! To start with, it is nice for a change to set a SCI FI story in WW2. Acting was good, the production looked expensive and professional. Graphics and VFXs great, the story looks valid, waiting for the next part.
OMG I WANT THAT IN TO A FULL FLEDGED MOVIE!!!!!!
Stoycho Stoychev u
that would be amazing!!!!!
Working towards it
BURNING IDEAS you can do it
Thanks Toxic Reaper
Best scifi short I've seen to date. Would love to see this with backstory and extended main story. After all...what is Mixture 9? Very professional acting, directing, and editing. VFX could use fine tuning. Other than that, very professional.
Awesome. Looks great. Almost Hollywood level cinematography. Two thumbs up!
how can a 12mm bullet destroy a ferdinand tank?????????
+Naj Kraemer Because its not a damn documentary, how can a suit go invisible? Also because of the fact that it is not real and extremely fictionalized entertainment.
Daniel goog how can a suit go invisible?* Well this technology is realistic and will be used in the enar future...... but a bullet destroying a tank??????? No. so go home...
+Naj Kraemer The point went over your head, because you aren't intelligent. The point it, this is FICTION, which means it is NOT true and/or does not exist.
+Daniel goog haha. says the prick who thinks its still logical that a bullet destroys a tank.......
+Naj Kraemer you don't seem to get it.. he said it is fiction.. which means everything is possible... there could've been a frigde falling from the sky onto the tank smashing it 10 meters into the dirt.. he never said it was logical or realistic.. or even possible.. and neither do i, it was a freaking fictional short film and a pretty good one i think.. atleast it was well made :D
now go and watch "Red Tails".. a P-51 destroys a freaking ship in there. (would've made (kinda) sense with rockets or bombs.. but they're killing it with the freaking .50cals..)
or "Fury" literally the most unrealistic and insulting towards german soldiers movie i've ever seen..
(i hope..)
sorry for my bad english and my weird writing :P
sort of felt like a Wolfenstein short.
gun noises were all the same as the bazooka from Rise of the Triad. sometimes I wish I didn't hear generic sfx in everything.
otherwise, pretty cool.
A bigger budget surely makes the difference. Weapons, vehicles, uniforms, special effects. A cut above. Thanks !
Why did they drop him in the middle of the day? Should of been a night op.
Good question - mission brief at start of film has Tom relaying they have new details about Reiner and they course correct to intercept him. Window of opportunity thing. They did not mean to fly that close to the villa so the pilot's heading was off.
The guy with the white mask looks like a cyberman from dr.who
WOW !!! Very interesting !! Fantastic film. YOU Tube needs more stuff like this !
"Your German is quite bad". Sorry, Herr Doktor, but so is yours.
lol yup
"but you didn't answer my question what is mixture 9".
The American can't say shit because the scientist can speak perfect English.
The worst thing about Nazi movies is the german :(
It's those cigars, man.
Ihre Deutsche Sprache ist sehr schlecht, Herr Doktor.
Is there going to be a sequel or something near that?
I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS MIXTURE 9.
It is the chemical they were putting in the patients I think. They were talking about it in the beginning.
I know they that it's the chemical that they put it in the patients. But what for? It must do something other than create those things on their skin and kill them in the process. I mean you can kill people in more faster and efficient ways so It would be pointless to make something like this and protect it this well when all it does is kill the host.
Xfrimz, they may be trying to make genetically superior super humans.
No german will ever tell you,har-har-har....;)
LoganThe Llama I guess this is a hint for a sequel
Don't ya hate it when these short stories end on a cliffhanger.... Is there part two to come or am I ten years too late
It didn't answer the question. What is mixture 9???
I DON'T FUCKING KNO AND IT'S FREAKING ME OUT!!11!1
gas
It smells like turpentine
And looks like India ink
Simon L vodka
Stealth boy
8:17 Fuck this shit, I'm takin' my shit and leaving!
BF1 moment u see a tank.
love it
Johannes Seyfried Thank you, fren.
linus mannerberg Wait, what?
Derek Bright lol
I like the setting of the film, it’s dark and old fashioned, it really gives chill vibes and these people could be great payed actors.
do you sell props of this mask? it looks so damn awesome
Brecht Simons ikr but there's only one suit
too bad :/
A dream mask for Covid👍
was there some russian mixed in with that german?
Nein
LOL
To me it sounds as a british speaks german after making hollydays in Germany.
Haha naw
haha you are right! I'm from Austria and I read the english subtitles to understand their german :D
Excellent short film. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate quality and quantity doesn't necessarily compensate. Your 21 minute film is better than many 2 1/2 hour films.
pretty cool, wish there was 2 hours more.
the cgi could really use some work but everything else is great!
Apart from some technical inaccuracies, I enjoyed this very much!
Fallout 5 is looking good
So? What IS mixture 9?
midnightmosesuk I think its what happens when you wear the suit for too long.
midnightmosesuk i guess mr. science wouldn´t tell the soldier because that was one information the US military needed, so he figured his chances to survive were risen if he kept it to himself for as long as he could (imo they both get that judging by the long look they give eachother there).
also, it would probably just become cheap fake science talk, there is no point in explaining.
+midnightmosesuk Hottest Salsa ever made.
Very cool. I liked the P-61. I think thats the first time I've ever seen one in a film. Good choice.
You still haven't answered my question, what is mixture 9
TOP SECRET - awaiting feature film debrief.
It makes u invisible
8:11 The Ferdinand probably wasn't the best choice of tank to send, considering its inability to effectively fight infantry and its lack of maneuverability.
very true twitchy a panzer IV would have been a better choice
Awesome story and acting! Please make a sequel!!!
WWII Master Chief.
