    You took me back to my childhood. My mother's potato salad was famous. She learned from her mom, who was from Oklahoma. She always put mustard and pimentos. I have GOT to make some for us now!

    I love how thorough you are. You even tell people not to use the same water they soaked potatoes in to boil in. I would have never even thought about that being an issue.

    That looks like mine but without pimento. I use red and green bell peppers. That looks delicious!!! I want some now!!!!!!! I can eat it for breakfast! And don’t forget the eggs on top too with paprika!!!

    Omg. I make a mean potato salad myself, but just wanted to see what you had up your sleeves😇. I liked how you mixed all ingredients w/mayo then adding to potatoes. Thanks for the tip on taking the string off celery-amazing. I usually do a green pepper and red pepper for color/flavor instead of pimento. But I'm gonna definitely try this and surprise my family. I can't share YOU with anyone else-I dont want them all up in my bizness❤❤

    Looks awesome! My mom used to add a little dill with hers. I'll have to try this with some fried chicken. God bless.

    Never thought of putting chicken powder in it before! That will give it another layer of flavor. Sometimes I add liquid smoke to my potatoes! I'm so glad you said about stringing your celery! Hardly no one does that anymore! Nothing like a purple onion in salads! The best kind! I'm a Miracle Whip gal myself but Dukes is ok. I think I have everything to make this! I'll be making some I think! I haven't made any in awhile! We do cook alike Sandra right down to the spoonful of mustard and sugar!
    I've been considering making some and instead of mayo, using some chicken sauce, the kind at Chic fil a. Walmart sells it in their Great Value brand. It's so good........

      I’m sure it would be fine with Miracle Whip, but Dukes Mayo is the best mayonnaise to make this potato salad. Thanks for watching 👍

    My wife puts a little sugar in her chili. And I think she uses dill relish. In her tater salad.

    • @cookingwithsandrafay
      @cookingwithsandrafay  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure dill pickles are fine but I prefer sweet pickle relish. This is the old fashioned way of making it.

    Sandra you're fabulous. I just recently found your channel so I am a new subscriber. I notice you use a lot of chicken powder. If you have never tried Better than Bouillon I highly recommend you try it. They have ham base, vegetable base, beef base, chicken base, garlic base, chili base, sautéed onion base.. just absolutely a time saver!
