This performance is available on the New West records CD and DVD entitled "Eric Johnson Live from Austin Texas". Original studio version is available on the Capitol Records CD entitled "Ah Via Musicom".

It's crazy that I didn't know this song until a few years ago , I was 20 yrs old in 1988 - just a kid at med school not really aware I was living the best days of my life [ by a large margin.] - no mobiles , no WWW & social interactions were live & constrained . It's rare to have such a melodic , guitar solo piece like this - beautiful chords (spread triads) & his perfect [pentatonic] runs . That tunic outfit is great with that 80's hair - looks really smart.

Eric’s a fantastic guitarist, but too many aspects of his posture and technique here are painfully tense. Having seen him live, I think he’s more comfortable in the studio, given his perfectionism. Beautiful clean tone, though-few can beat him (and clean notes).
Great point. His tension is noticeable a couple times when he (slightly) misses a note.
