    Wow I'm impressed, I wish I was that creative. I have a full acre lot I own next to my home in California, and I pay a guy to come do mines every summer with his tractor and disc. But since Covid and these Gas Prices, he now wanna charge me 3 times the amount to do it which I just can't do. So I'm now looking for solutions to start just doing it myself and I ran into this. I'm a Air Force Veteran and used to work on the F117 stealth fighter and F-16 falcon as a crew chief (mechanic) so I'd like to think I'm pretty mechanically inclined. But if I had acquired those disc as you first got it, I wouldn't had the slightest idea how to upgrade it and make it look brand new as you just did. So my hats off to you man, I loved seeing you get this thing working successfully Good job!!!

    Thank you for posting this Jack. I really like that you have made a heavy duty design along with the simplicity. I am going to source the materials and build one in the spring based on your experience. I also have a Ranger which helped inspire me as they are a good machine with lots of power. It was also heartwarming to see the children in this video. I hope you can do additional builds and share them. Good projects for UTV's are hard to find.
    Great job!

      @@scottrummel9477 lol. I actually just sold that one last week. I got a tractor a little while back and needed to buy a disc for it so I sold this one to buy a bigger one. If you were a week I earlier I would have sold it to you and thrown in a can of crimson spray paint.

    Look at adding some ballast. Old-time farm discs had trays (similar to battery trays, but bigger) to hold concrete blocks.

      If I lived where I grew up, I would have to No doubt, this wouldn’t cut it by itself. But here in the south, we have sandy soil and it cuts fine how it is. All depends on soil type, but your right… hard souls would take more weight.

    I've looked for a decent design for a compact tractor and your's is the only one that is too notch. Nobody has gauge wheels or depth control. The companies building compact tractor size tools needs you to design their stuff. You, sir know what your doing. With your permission I would like to update some of my things. Good job and God bless.

      very good. just used it last week on several food plots. I figured i might get some wobble in the disc since i welded the cap instead of bolting, but it has no play whatsoever. Thanks!

  • @brian_2040
    @brian_2040 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm curious why u chose to weld everything together instead of bolting the axles tight. Now it has no tension against it. Jesus lover here too.

    • @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms
      @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i didn't have a way to thread the axles for a bolt, and i didn't want to buy one since i was trying to use what i had on hand. i just got it as tight as possible and welded the caps. its not the BEST way, but it will work for a long time no more than i use it. Thanks for watching!
