    I was born and raised in BA, still live here. I just wanted to say that you did a wonderful job with this story. Your facts were on point and your delivery was both professional as well as friendly. You have a great speaking voice!
    I really appreciate your emphasis on how devastating and emotionally challenging this tragedy was on our local law enforcement. As you stated things like this just didn't happen here. Yes, we have crime, of course, but murder period is rare so for an entire family, most of whom were children, it was shocking and heartbreaking. Our city is within Tulsa County which has a population of almost 700k and A LOT of gang activity and high murder rate but the actual city of Broken Arrow is only 120k residents made up of mostly suburbs. The ppl here are good decent people and friendly. Just raising families honestly.
    Watching what this did emotionally to our law enforcement officers was as heartbreaking as the tragedy itself.
    It's the kids that get to them so bad. We've had two more family tragedies recently. Both murder/suicide taking the lives of the entire families. Once again our LE was dealing with the trauma of multiple children's lives lost and having to see this then go home to their own families. I'm sorry, I should have stated that all of our first responders EMT, LE, FIRE/RESCUE were all devastated and we're wondering what's happening in our close knit family based community. Why is this happening more frequently. It all began with the Bever Family Murders.
    I love what you said about how all of the notorious killers the boys were so impressed by and wanted to emulate had all been caught for their crimes or killed themselves during and that's the whole reason there was any notoriety in the first place. Def not the brightest bulbs in the shed. Such a naive way of thinking as well as just being immature.
    There's a lovely tribute, so to speak, where the house once stood so that's nice in honor of the families. The whole fire thing was really strange tho. I read a comment here that said the devil burned it down. That's kinda the consensus here anyway.
    Thank you for your time and research on this story. The best job I've seen done. ❤
    Oh and I'm a big NFL fan. I'm a Denver Broncos girl tho. Not sure how that goes with your boyfriend being a Colt and the whole Peyton Manning thing but I appreciate the acquirement none the less 😁

      I’m pinning this comment, thank you so much for taking the time to write this out as somebody who is from this community. I can only imagine the toll that it took on local law-enforcement, as well as all the first responders, in major urban areas, they have so much more trauma training and resources to handle this kind of thing and because it’s more common they’re a bit more prepared (tho realistically I don’t think you can ever truly prepare for something like this)

      Same here. This happened not too far from where I grew up, and it shocked the whole town. Things like that just don’t happen in BA, so it was horrifying. I felt awful for the law enforcement who had to respond to that scene.

    this hits so hard considering that’s just a few miles from my hometown but that phone call is just so haunting. like daniel is only a year younger than my brother is now and was my age when it happened. all these kids were just babies. i’m sure they were so sweet. i have no idea how the oldest daughter was able to cope. she heard all of it while slowly dying. i hope she has so much love and therapy☹️

      Exactly and now within the last year or so we've had two murder/suicides that involved the entire families being taken out in both cases. The first was 2 adults 6 kids, I know you remember that at 81st Elm and recently another at 91st & Elm. I still haven't heard if that one was 2 adults 2 kids or 1 adult 3 kids but that child was talking to 911 and was gunned down mid call. I'm surprised that call was released honestly.
      Both times our first responders/law enforcement traumatized by the loss of the children. To think that 9 years ago it was unthinkable, unheard of. We don't usually see murders period but now 3 family tragedies within 9 years is alot for our community. I don't understand why they have to include the children.
      Typically this is a wonderful town to live in tho.

    Honestly while it's plausible that being essentially locked in a house for 18 years straight and taught nothing that wasn't Parent Approved, without any hope of socialising with new people can drive someone a bit nuts and is a form of abuse; killing everyone is definitely an overreaction. It's also somehow a surprise to me that knives were used. Shows a particular distain and personal rage for their victims

    • @DaisyFoko
      @DaisyFoko  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I completely agree. 1) it’s actually pretty unusual for abused children to kill their parents let alone the whole family 2) though these boys were the eldest there were still other children in the home who were raised in the same way yet didn’t develop these interests. I really think Robert in particular being an active member in these online communities played the biggest role here. It seems like he likely had some totally fair resentments as most teens do but the online spaces he spent his time in ended up radicalizing him to a point of no return. The choice of the knives is definitely very intimate & violent. They had a lot of guns in the house so I think it’s easy for ppl to overlook the significance of that choice because they’re chalking it up to “oh it’s because the guns would’ve been too loud” but there’s other quiet options available. They didn’t want to poison their family because they wanted to be the thing physically doing the killing. It’s all very tragic

    • @thecheeseprofessor
      @thecheeseprofessor 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DaisyFoko Yes I was also surprised they didn't move onto guns, after their attack of the sister, and particularly when the youngest hid behind the locked door. It definitely feels like Robert was leading things, though it doesn't absolve his brother. As you said, the other children didn't get involved with that

    • @rand0mn0sity14
      @rand0mn0sity14 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True! Stabbing is personal while shooting is impersonal. Stabbing means you have to be close and you’d feel their blood on your hand while shooting you can have a sort of detachment. This was personal hatred for every member of their family. The little kids couldn’t have abused the oldest boys so that’s crap.

      The guns that Robert ordered were to be picked up the next day when he and Michael left town. However, Robert wouldn’t have been able to receive the guns because he wasn’t 21. The guns. When we lived in Broken Arrow, we lived less than a mile away from the Bevers. I watched 100% of News On 6’s coverage daily when they did a long recap of Michael’s trial. The older brother, Robert, took a plea deal because the death penalty was on the table. Michael was 16 years old when he and Robert killed their parents and 3 siblings, so he couldn’t be up for the death penalty.
    The parents had cameras set up all over the house. The parents kept a tight reign and surveillance on them.
    The two surviving siblings, a 13 year old who was evicerated (among other injuries, and the 2 year old were adopted by the foster care woman and they are thriving. Of course, they have had extensive counseling.
    You’re wrong about the inside of the house. When the company went through the house to remove the items, there was only 1 large frying pan, a 3 qt pan, and a small stock pot. That’s it. There were only 9 plates and enough silverware for each person to have one set. This is not enough for a family of 9. There was mainly only Mac and cheese in the cupboards and not much else. The kids cooked for themselves.
    These kids were neglected by their parents according to the oldest sister who told the police and investigators. The same sister told their parents that they were amassing a lot of knives and body armour. The Mom said “Well, boys will be boys.” Those knives were used to murder 5 members and they were wearing the body armour.
    Robert bought all of it off of Amazon using his paycheck. The parents did NOT buy the knives.
    You really need to read up on this family. They were NOT what you are portraying. Read all the local news reports and trial transcripts.
    Many Broken Arrow firemen and policemen either retired or left after going into the house. Broken Arrow’s ambulance service is run by the fire department and there’s a firehouse less than a mile away. The paramedic fireman and the EMT fireman scheduled for ambulance runs that day was the first on the scene, followed by a fire engine, a second ambulance, and then multiple police came. The police pulled the 13 year old out of the foyer into the yard. They thought she was dead. The house had to be cleared before the paramedic and EMT could check on the girl. Her intestines were hanging out of her abdomen, her throat was slit, and she had multiple stab wounds. The paramedic also thought she was dead, but when he checked her neck pulse, she turned her head towards him. Usually, a patient is evaluated and IV lines started before loading them on the gurney, but the paramedic picked her up and ran to the ambulance and the EMT drove like a bat out of hell to the children’s hospital in Tulsa. She underwent an 8 hour surgery and managed to survive. The paramedic broke down crying on the stand during Michael’s trial and a recess was called so he could compose himself. The other police, paramedic and EMT also cried on the stand when they testified. To find two children stabbed to death in a bathroom was more than they could take. The first responders had lots of chaplains talk to them and they had access to counseling. All of them said that was the worst crime scene they’d ever been to. When the oldest surviving sister testified at Michael’s trial, she said she lives in fear of them getting released (life in prison is considered 45 years in Oklahoma) and them contacting her. I think she has a permanent restraining order on each of them and a no contact order. Michael was 18 when he was convicted and Robert pled guilty when he was 18. Michael could possibly be released also at age 63 two years after Robert. It took 2 years to get Michael to trial. I don’t blame the sister being terrified of her two brothers.
    You’re really off the mark with your video about this family. More research is needed into this sad family and criminal brothers.
    Robert stabbed a nurse with a pencil at his prison and has had numerous prison issues. He’s got a lot of psychological issues, too. Michael is housed at another prison and they will never be held in the same prison.
    Both sisters have had their names changed. Crystal is no longer Crystal and neither girl has the last name of Bever.

      The two killers fled the scene through the back door of the house when police arrived and headed into a wooded area behind the property. They were apprehended quickly at 12:18 AM with the use of a K9 unit and arrested without incident. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Robert Bever, the oldest son of David and April Bever, and his 16-year-old brother, Michael Bever; the pair were found hiding beneath a bush. Robert was armed with a knife at the time of his arrest.

    I grew up in Broken Arrow, and crazily enough, I actually vaguely knew Robert. I attended a youth group at a local church when I was in early-mid high school, and he was in that group for a while. My memories of that era are a bit hazy, but nothing about him even remotely stood out to me as worrisome, or even odd…he was just a kid who was really into video games, like most kids at that age! So of course I was shocked when I heard about this horrific story….you think you know people huh?

    Saw this video in my recomended feed and was like "Broken Arrow? What're the chances it's Okla-" and yeah okay. Shoulda known. Soooo much crazy shit happens here. I used to live in a really small town that had a horrific trafficking & drug problem. I had a handful of instances of people trying to either follow me home or kidnap me: a very common tactic used against people driving home late at night is to have a car pull out in front of you, and then they start slowing down and when you pass a side road another car pulls out behind you and the two sandwich you between them, eventually forcing you to stop. The few times that happened to me, I just pulled onto a side road and completely turned around and went back a few miles. The apartment I was living in was also in a pretty unsafe neighborhood; I'm not lying or exaggerating when I say that at least 10 times a month someone would try to break into my apartment through the side door that faced the trailer park next to us. Two years into living at that apartment, the abandoned trailer house next to us caught fire due to crackheads. Very glad I no longer live there.
    This isn't even mentioning the probable cult that's taking over Bixby lmao

      @@DaisyFoko Oh yeah, Oklahoma kinda reminds me of Florida with how much weird shit happens here. If you're interested, the cult is called BlueFlame47. They updated their website last I saw, so it no longer looks creepy AF. They got a podcast and so much more. I remember before they got really big, I'd have to drive past their compound because a friend lived in a neighborhood near them. They used to live in these decently big white tents and I NEVER saw anyone out in the yard or anything. Just the tents. Eventually they built the big red barn thing that they use for congregation and you can see photos of it on their site. I've heard rumors, though they've never been substantiated as far as I'm aware, that they would pay people to attend services. And then because people needed/wanted the money they'd slowly be indoctrinated. Though honestly, BlueFlame47 might not ACTUALLY be a cult... they're backed by a REALLY large global (I'm pretty sure it's global? It might just be national) company that I can't remember off the top of my head. That's according to their website last I checked, anyways. They're buying a ton of land in Bixby, including what used to be one of my favorite local gas stations, Fox Mart. I recently had to drive past it to take my dog to the vet and I have no idea what the building is now. It just says "BlueFlame47" on it and there's no indication as to its purpose.

      The woman that took both girls in as foster children ended up adopting them both. Both girls have had their names changed and their last names are no longer Bever. Crystal started attending a public school and ran cross country. She also got her drivers license. The youngest girl had severe separation anxiety and it was difficult to drop her off at her daycare. Eventually she overcame her separation anxiety. She too attended public school. Both girls didn’t attend Broken Arrow public schools. They lived in a different Tulsa suburb.

    Even with four kids your attention gets split. Even if you work from home or don’t work at all that doesn’t change a single thing. That is actually completely irrelevant whether or not you work. You still wouldn’t be able to give the same amount of attention to each kid. Or I phrased that wrong. You could def split your time evenly but each kid would get such little time.

    • @janicewingfield5245
      @janicewingfield5245 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Dad was always on his computer working. April would shut herself in her office and was online all day on Reddit and doing her blog. She didn’t supervise the children’s online school. The parents relied on the video cameras in the house to keep tabs on the kids. Neither parent was hands on with the children or paid much attention to them. They didn’t have meals as a family. The kids cooked or made their own meals. These kids were neglected and this is what the oldest surviving sister testified in court during Michael’s trial.
