    TRD Pro over Trailhunter because I like sportiness over ruggedness.👍 Both great trucks though.

      @@AAutoBuyersGuide I think that’s why I like it so much. It’s very unique and from most reviews, it seems to do its job pretty well. What did you and Alex think about it?

      @@AAutoBuyersGuidewell because nobody else needs them. Toyota seems to think front seat “coolness” is more important than rear seat leg room in a midsized truck. It would’ve made more sense for the Tundra to get these seats. Seems like a try hard move they’re thinking will help sell the Tacoma, but it’s just increased it’s price.

    Travis, Was the 'Gladiator' metaphor ironic? 🤔 Getting back to the new, 8 speed Tacoma Trail Hunter which replaces the old, 6 Speed Tacoma Gear Hunter, I was expecting Toyota's famous full-time 4WD system on this very, very expensive model.

    Great video! These are impressive trucks. These prices are insane! However, the same ppl that complain about prices, are also the ones who buy they're 35k truck just to go drop 25k on upgrades at 4wheel parts lol without warranty 😅 These trucks wont sit on lots and rust. They will sell EVERY SINGLE ONE!

    I agree with rdrunnersac prices are absurd for midsize pick up trucks that have no backseat room and small beds. More four-cylinder turbo charged hybrid power trains are not gonna be as reliable, no way that you convince me of that. They should’ve stayed with an updated more powerful, six-cylinder engine straightforward 300 hp 320 pound feet of torque would do the job perfectly for 90% of the population. Complexity as reliability issues in the future and higher service bills. Let them rust on lots for 60,000+ dollars.

    Travis, great comparison review.
    Pricing aside l, nice trims.
    Hearing the engines idling here and in person, I can tell you that diesel-like noise is very annoying. At the price point of this new generation I find that entirely unacceptable.

  • @Sean-km7ht
    @Sean-km7ht 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Personal preference is Trailhunter, gloss black plastic scratches way too easy. I do have to give Toyota credit though. Prices for the same features/options has essentially kept pace or beat inflation over longer terms. The affordability issue is because incomes haven't kept pace with inflation, it's much more noticeable because vehicles just experienced a major over-correction in market pricing and are reaching equilibrium again. Reckless borrowing and lending are not helping either.
    I would love to see a video comparing long-standing models from different manufactures compared to 10,15, and 20 years back to see which ones are a better value for the same options, which ones have added value by adding features at what would be the same adjusted price, and which ones are actually worse.
    The limited package in 2014 was a 7k upcharge to the 28k crew cab and was not as well equipped as a today's SR5 which is pretty close before adjusting for inflation. Sure, no Tacoma in 2014 cost $50k (2014 equivalent to 65k today), but features offered when loaded are comparable to today's mid trims if you're being generous.

    Probably most people didn't get the memo from Toyota. Now they want to consider Tacoma their new luxury or high end truck compare to other brands. If you are a current owner, probably not for you anymore 😅😊

    I love how Toyota exerts so much effort to convince the world how hybrid technology is a more responsible use of resources compared to electric vehicles to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.. then how do they deploy the technology? To increase performance, with no appreciable increase in mpg. It’s like they’re speaking out of both sides of their mouth. Give me a Tacoma with the same performance as the 2.4T but with better mpg, then I’ll be interested in the hybrid taco. Toyota, you have a massive opportunity here to move the needle on carbon emissions, yet I feel that you’ve squandered it. Disappointed :(
