Also something to note for any would be future resident with children. School budget cuts with teachers getting fired and no money to fix serious issues with the schools or water treatment facilities. All while the City builds a brand new fancy City hall.

Silverton has charm. Unfortunately, the locals know it and housing is priced accordingly. Same with Mt. Angel.
You should do Stayton. They have some downtown charm and it’s still a bit undiscovered.

Being like Mayberry is a positive. Clarity, you should google 'Stu Rasmussen Mayor of Silverton Oregon'. Definitely not Conservative. He was pretty famous a few years ago, I think he served two terms as Mayor. Google, yup. My family would move to Silverton if we could afford it.
