I found Silverton by accident . I have lived here for over 13 years . I live right on Historic Downtown Main St . The People are what makes it such a wonderful place to live 13 years and I still have the feeling of being on vacation.
Bob Ross is telling me you made a happy little accident. Main Street would be a fun place to live. What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about living in Silverton?
Hi! I’ve lived in Silverton my entire life and right now living in a neighborhood with older couples. The medical system is amazing. Dentists are great too
@SalemOR well the biggest difference is the size. When I was a kid silverton wasn't as big as its getting now alot of new developments in silverton which is great but when I was a kid in the 90s nothing beats those years.
It has seen a lot more development in the past 10 years. It still feels small but its growing, thats for sure. Whats your favorite part about living in Seattle?
@SalemOR my favorite part living in Seattle is the parks and we have the best NFL team. But my favorite part about living in silverton when I did also go frequently when I visit family is the pizza at maps.app.goo.gl/h4DgWYpzhDXCuCCZ8?g_st=ac if you have not ate at the home place restaurant then you are missing out on the best taco pizza any one has to offer.
Great question. Silverton does have a hospital but you’ll likely go to Salem for many other medical needs. Salem has a larger health infrastructure than Silverton.
Silverton has many specialty care options, either affiliated with the hospital or privately owned. There is neurology, family care and pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, infectious disease, opthalmology... plus many more. The Silverton hospital is not a "trauma" hospital, so it is not uncommon for an Air Flight helicopter landing to pick up patients for transport to Salem or Portland. The hospital does have an emergency room with less wait times than the much larger, Salem Health hospital.
Yes the housing in Silverton is more than many smaller towns and even Salem. It’s a desirable place to live without many homes for sale. With demand being as high as it is, the cost of real estate is more spendy there. Do you think it’s worth the cost?
@@SalemOR I do, if you have the money. Unlike many smaller towns in Oregon, Silverton is quite liberal. The landscape is amazing and it is a beautiful town.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. Do you have a favorite/ go-to natural area around Silverton? My husband and I like booping around the State park and some of the backwater trails. Its fun to get lost up there.

Yes! Its such a great one. Do you have any other favorites in the area?
How's the medicaid system and how hard is it to get dental work there
I will have to defer to the audience to help answer this question as I do not use Medicaid and my dentist is located in Salem.

Thanks for sharing because I feel like Silverton doesn't have great food. I'm glad to know there are some hidden gems in the city.
How is the access to hospitals or medical offices?

Silverton is a beautiful town, close to Silver Creek Falls. It has a top notch hospital, but housing prices are quite high.

@@SalemOR I went to the falls most weekends in the summer and the entire area around Silverton was a scenic view. Great area for a Sunday drive.
Yes! You can't go wrong if you head out to the countryside for a Sunday drive. I totally agree.
Do a video on Woodburn next!
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll add it to the list.
