    Very helpful!! So simple. Turned the unit as indicated, debris under the rubber seal, cleaned it out, re fitted, water stopped running.

      Although the constant dripping into the bowl was a nuisance, the big problem was the awful noise it made ,removed the siphon body with a quick twist , and flipped over the rubber seal , Problem solved , no more leaks and the horid noise had stopped .

    Toilet fixed - thanks to you guys. Mine had to be twisted anti-clockwise to get out and when I put it back I realised that it had not been fitted straight so when tightened looked crooked. Maybe that is why it was leaking as the plumber did not turn it fully til it clicked and it gradually started coming out. Glad I did not need a new part. Great how you give extra information during your videos. Thanks again.

    Great video sorted my problem. couple of points to note. The water supplied to the toilet may be from the tank in the loft and turning the mains off (if you don't have a isolation valve) won't stop it filling, probably need to find a gate valve to shut it off. Some siphon units have clips at the bottom that need to be pressed simultaneously then pulled up to remove. Mine was leaking into the plan because of those blue tabs that go in the cistern so they clean your toilet bowl as you flush. Alot of scaling had built up this was getting caught under the rubber seal (shown in the video) when I flushed!

    Great video AL. My toilet started leaking between the tank and the pan on the donut ring and thanks to your videos i fixed it easily without any problems. One thing i did notice thou and its related to this video is that on my flush system it has a small pipe from the fill valve that connects into the overflow pipe. When you flush this tiny pipe continues to pump water into the overflow until the fill valve shuts off. This seems stupid to me but it does it deliberately to keep the pan full to prevent any sewer smells coming. Wastes water but worth mentioning

      OK, probably due to being a fairly new cistern the slots were to the side, rather than middle, of the push buttons. The main body was held in place by a couple of clips at the bottom that were easily released (if you don't have big workman's hands like I do, and the sealing grommet (the whole body, actually) was different but the seal could be easily pulled out and re-inserted upside down - there was a barely noticable mark on the sealing side, maybe 10 thou' deep but evidently enough to allow some leakage.
      It was a very small leak, heard rather than seen, but it is now fixed and this clip got me pulling finger and actually doing it - less than 5 minutes total :-)

  • @rainbow2710

    Went for a leak and found a leak! Haha. Great explanation. The rubber washer in our flushing appears to have gotten “bubbles” and it may be a case that this is causing a poor seal and allowing water to still run in the toilet. Cheers!

    Good advice again. I also like the idea of having Jan ask questions, giving us "newbies" an extra insight. I'll be tackling ours ASAP thanks to this video. Keep up the good work :)

    I love this video and it’s so easy to understand. Unfortunately mine just can’t be turned because the pump is screwed too tight to the bottom. I tried to twist it left and right but with no such luck !!

    I have just bought a brand new Wickes Vercelli toilet, it was the last of the line and bought as seen.I fitted it ok but has a slight trickle of water which eventually empties the cistern, the push button flush is almost identical to the one in your video.Obviously it's all new parts, the seal and the plastic sealing face look good. The water is draining into the bowl so must be passing the seal ? Wickes won't replace as bought as seen, any ideas ? Cheers.

      @dereton33  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try turning the rubber seal over and also check there is no debris over the seat where it seals.

    • @paulhemmings9245

      I have already tried turning the seal and the seating surface is clean,the leak is so small I am hoping it will seal itself.But thanks for your interest.@@dereton33

    So the Base is supposed to close fully right? I think somethings loose in ours, pulled it apart and the washer is fine but theres a bit of plastic rattling around by the flush slider

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That`s just the slider for setting full flush or half flush.

    When I twist the body of the Roca push button flush assembly anticlockwise, it unclips successfully, but as I lift it out, after an inch it meets strong resistance, and I can't lift it any further and have to put it back, so I can't check the washer at the bottom. Any suggestions?

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After uncliping, try twisting it in both directions with the pull.

      @@dereton33 Perfect, thank you, I held the inner rod too and the gentle persistence paid off! Washer seems fine so will clean and refit to see if I can avoid buying a new one.

    Just wondering Al, if the rubber has perished on the plunger rod, is it possible that a tiny piece has fallen into the syphon unit and causing it to jam in the down position. Just a thought and maybe might just save you having to fork out for a new syphon unit.

    • @dereton33

      The syphon will need a new sealing washer or just turn the old one up the other way. The fluid master you have installed is just the filler valve.

      I will take a look. It's beyond my knowledge anyway I think. Plus as a non plumber I'd have difficulty getting the parts. I've been quoted £90 plus parts to fix two leaking toilets. That seems very fair - as he thinks the parts won't cost much. One is likely a seal. The other another part.
