Such a fantastic discussion! How blessed we are that 70-year-old Rob and 74-year-old Sammy are still with us and inspiring future generations. Thanks for posting this!
You betcha! I love both of these guys MORE than I love my own blood brother! And always will. They have taught me a nd other countless rockers SO MUCH. I can't thank them or respect them enough.
Him and his manager drugs and gangedraped janey lane from warrant. That’s why janey lane drank himself to death. He never got over the abuse. Rob don’t deserve to breath air anymore. I hope he and his manager pay for there sins 7 fold .
Do you kinda get the feeling that all of Sammy's work up to now was leading to rock 'n roll roadtrip interviews? He just looks like he's at that stage of life where he loves brings people together over stories, music and friends - and I'm diggin' it!
I remember listening to early Judas Priest circa 1977 or so......said to myself that these guys are going far. They did. Sammy was present in my world musically since Montrose days in early '70's, thanks to the both of you for the music! It was LOUD!!!!
Rob is still one of the best heavy metal voices of all time in my opinion!! I still blast Judas Priest whenever I can. My pops and I have a motto..." If it's to loud your to f*****g old!" Pops is 74. Sammy you are so bad ass!! Metal till death for me!!!
Rock god's. Rob is from home city of Birmingham. Saw Sammy in 1981 in Birmingham: he played load & clear. Felt the show. Ended with whole lot of love. What a show.
It's amazing how good Sammy is looking (and rocking!) at his 74. Seventy fucking four years old! He'll be turning 75 later this year. His tequila must have been an elixir of youth:)
They represent my two favorite forms of music. Heavy metal is my favorite form of music. Always will be the golden Metal years of the 1980’s. Judas Priest is my all time favorite band. Rock from the 1970’s and 80’s mean a lot to me also. I’ve always been a Sammy Hagar fan. He seems so down to earth and real. Rob is the ultimate vocalist and humble as well. Two class acts. Look forward to seeing Judas Priest soon.
I've had an opportunity to meet both of these performers away from the music, and they are exactly this. Being a performer, I understand you might not want to spend five minutes being "the guy", so I usually just introduce myself, shake their hands, and thank them for the years of music. BOTH of these guys gave me 2 or 3 more mi uses thanI asked for and treated me with respect. Great guys
Dude word up! I have never met Sammy but I actually did get a chance to meet Rob just briefly in San Diego 2002.. I was doing some session work on lead guitar for a hard rock band that was up and coming and it was the craziest thing this reclusive guy had a small trailer in a trailer park and muffled speakers for Marshall amplifiers what he had inside of that tiny trailer was worth more than a million dollar studio it was amazing.. but in between working for the band that I was playing sessions for, he was also remastering and doing over the vocals from one of Rob's performances live performances where he wasn't happy with the vocals so Rob would come in to that same little trailer and resend his vocals he met me briefly and sure enough he was drinking tea! Great guy super nice
That’s awesome, he’s my favorite singer, writer and musician etc. and I would love to meet him, and do just what you said, thank him for all the great music and memories of my lifetime and him being a great man. I’m really glad that happened to you…
Screaming for Vengeance 82' was my very first concert and have been a fan ever since, and heard Montrose a month before concert so was great seeing this interview, Sammy's rock and roll show is the best out there, thank you Sammy! Long live rock and roll! 80's still the best, all movies. And tv shows always use music from this era!
Sammy I’ve been listening to you before I knew it was you. 14 year’s ago my daughter and I went to a show you did and my granddaughter was in my daughter and it was a memory that will be forever imprinted for me! I’ve seen you at the U of H campus to the summit in Houston. You have always exceeded my expectations! You’re the ultimate showman! You’re the one performer that’s never let me down! I lost my daughter 3 weeks ago and I’ve thought about our good times and you have always been there! Thank You
Amazing how these two legends survived all the partying they went through over the last 50 years. They both look great and they're down to earth guys. I've been a fan since the early '70s
Two of the Towering Gods of the male rock voice. These guys are from a different time, look how effortless their rapport is - no ego, no bullshit, not afraid to air out past mistakes. They've been through the exact same rock wars all these years, a lot to laugh and cry about. And look what kind of human beings they've become, inspirations to us all who love them. This is like watching two Gods just bullshitting an afternoon away. It would be amazing to see Halford, Klaus Meine, and maybe Bruce Dickinson sit around, talk about Dio, talk about the days where they were all creating the foundation of the music that still powers our hearts today.
They're not really from a different time though, maybe a different style. Sammy is actually 4 years older. But Rob started his career in 1969, 4 years earlier than Sammy's debut as the singer of Montrose in 1973. Agree 100% on everything else you said though. :)
There's something about the rockers from the Midlands, they're mostly such decent, down to earth blokes. Love Rob and his performances are still extraordinary given how long he's been in the business. How he does it is just amazing.
To be honest Halford sounds much much better these days than he did in 2012 for example. He cares of his voice and to my biggest happiness it is evident
Rob Halford--WOW!!! Best singer in music!!!Rob knows so much about proper professional singing that he can play his voice like a guitar player uses guitar effects--Rob is a Bel Canto master...so is Sammy Hagar!
I'm always struck by the dichotomy of Rob's soft spoken, gentlemanly demeanor and him singing Dissident Aggressor, The Rage or Jawbreaker! Well done sir.
Loved the priest i saw them at the Cleveland agora front row before they had made it yet and i was memorized. Dual guitars synced up and rob singing flawlessly. Seen them many many times one of the all time greats. Thanks sammy love you too!!
Been listening and attending shows of both these guys since Montrose and the very 1st iteration of JP. Here we are all these decades later and these two are still here. I’ve had a drink and an “ahem” with both and It’s really good to still be here.🤘🏼
Great singers, yes. Without having met either, I have the feeling they are genuine good people. Rob is always so humble and gracious in interviews. Sammy gives me the impression that he is everybody’s friend. He can fit it in anywhere, with anyone from any walk of like. He’s like, “Hey bud, let’s party”.
It is great to see these guys together, I play guitar and was actually self taught with 2 rocking albums, they were British Steel and Standing Hampton.
Learned about Priest in the FN Boy Scouts! Electric Eye. I never seen them live. BUT, I did get to see Rob Halford's FIGHT in a small venue and it was awesome. And Sammy, I learned about him with that song DITD!!!!
Such a fantastic discussion! How blessed we are that 70-year-old Rob and 74-year-old Sammy are still with us and inspiring future generations. Thanks for posting this!
Is Sammy really 74? Jesus he doesn't look a day ove 50!
Oh, wow! I didn't know they were that old. The sunglasses should have given it away.
You betcha! I love both of these guys MORE than I love my own blood brother! And always will. They have taught me a nd other countless rockers SO MUCH. I can't thank them or respect them enough.
Sammy is 74
I could see the attraction between both of them. Does anyone know if they hooked up afterward?
Michael Anthony, Matt Sorum, Bill Duffy, Steve Stevens....geeze, talk about a dream band!!
Halford is a SINGER. Who absolutely wails.
BINGO !
He's the Fuckin Metal Messiah
Halford is a VOCALIST who kicks A$$!!
Seeing two of Rock & Rolls best singers together, and the respect they have for each other is so heart-warming. No attitudes. Just pure commeratory.
Fact
@billducas Do you mean, "camaraderie"?
Him and his manager drugs and gangedraped janey lane from warrant. That’s why janey lane drank himself to death. He never got over the abuse. Rob don’t deserve to breath air anymore. I hope he and his manager pay for there sins 7 fold .
I love these guys. So many decades listening to both of them....and continue
Do you kinda get the feeling that all of Sammy's work up to now was leading to rock 'n roll roadtrip interviews? He just looks like he's at that stage of life where he loves brings people together over stories, music and friends - and I'm diggin' it!
How fortunate are we rock fans. We've had legendary artists like Sammy and Rob among many others. And they are still kicking ass! Thank you!!!!
I remember listening to early Judas Priest circa 1977 or so......said to myself that these guys are going far. They did.

These 2 guys are in my top 10 male rock vocals of all time.
Halford and Sammy could be music ambassadors across all genres of music.
2 legends together the red rocker and the metal god🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rock god's. Rob is from home city of Birmingham. Saw Sammy in 1981 in Birmingham: he played load & clear. Felt the show. Ended with whole lot of love. What a show.
They both look like they are in their 50s! These two are truly timeless.
Rob and Sammy are two of my favorite and best vocalists, songwriters of all time. Hope they remain with us for decades to come.

I recently celebrated one year of sobriety. Rob is a big inspiration to me.
Two Titans of Rock n Roll !!!

Two greatest singers in rock and roll, what a treat.
Love it!!! I'm 58 and Priest is still my go to!!

Me too at almost 59!!
Amazing how these two legends survived all the partying they went through over the last 50 years. They both look great and they're down to earth guys. I've been a fan since the early '70s

Definitely Meine and Dickinson

Halford is not only one of the fathers of Metal, he is an all-around model as a human being.
@@rudolfschenker yeah he seems really decent
Rob Halford--WOW!!! Best singer in music!!!Rob knows so much about proper professional singing that he can play his voice like a guitar player uses guitar effects--Rob is a Bel Canto master...so is Sammy Hagar!
who doesn't want mike as a bassist and back up vocalist in their band? The highs, woah '👌
VH isn’t the same without Mike doing the high harmonies
@@TheEnderBand FYI there is no VH since Eddie passed away
@@rockAndrolljunkie VH shunned him on their last album in favor of Wolfgang
@@rockAndrolljunkie I’m referring to all their prior incarnations
I was never much of a Sammy Hagar fan but I have mad respect for him having respect for Mikey like he does.
Great conversation and great song after Thanks Sammy & Rob two of the best .......
I love Rob! I’ve always thought of him as the Freddie Mercury of metal.🎸🤘
I'm always struck by the dichotomy of Rob's soft spoken, gentlemanly demeanor and him singing Dissident Aggressor, The Rage or Jawbreaker! Well done sir.
A great interview again with Rob.
Man that was great, I’ve never heard Rob in an interview before. Two legends
Rob Halford is an amazing singer AND screamer. He gave us some beautiful performances, especially on their early albums.
Loved "Unleashed in the East" live.."Diamonds and Rust" "The Green Manaleshi"..he sounded amazing..
I've always loved Rob and his voice and Judas priest, Sammy really admires and respects him which is awesome!! Great interview. Good job Sammy!
With a bonus appearance of Michael Anthony. Sammy fan from back to his Montrose days.
These two legends have given me some amazing moments driving in my car and blasting stuff like Heads are Gonna' Roll or I Can't Drive 55
Total love and respect for both these rocking greats.
Loved the priest i saw them at the Cleveland agora front row before they had made it yet and i was memorized. Dual guitars synced up and rob singing flawlessly. Seen them many many times one of the all time greats. Thanks sammy love you too!!

Mr. Samuel Roy Hagar
Mr. Robert John Arthur Halford

Saw the Cult in 1985 in Poole, England. Their album, Love, is a nailed on classic. Thanks guys.
Two amazing legends right there
The interview was great!
That performance of a Cult classic was incredible!! 🤟😎🤟🎵🎶

Saw them May 29, 1983 US FESTIVAL.... just phenomenal.... a true rock and roll experience I deed
Would have killed to be at that concert. Two of my favorite bands, Judas Priest and Fleetwood Mac where there.

Sammy makes 70 years old look like 21. I only hope I look and move that well at 70.
All of these are gems Sammy💪
Very important stuff Rob is sharing in the discussion.
Rob is so Rad!!! His voice is amazing, the melodies he puts to the music brings it all together, thank again!!
I love Sam, Rob, and this song. Nice vid!
Sammy - you were definitely a "Lead Singer" for 5150 - one of my favorites and definitely one of the GREATEST albums of all time.

Вы замечательные музыканты и потрясающие люди.Огромное уважение из России!🤘🇬🇧🇺🇲🇷🇺
Эй русский, Крым чей?
So fortunate to say I have seen both of these legends live in Portland, Oregon back in the day at Memorial Coliseum. Great memories.
