While a remake could be good, I think the original Persona and the Persona 2 duology should at the very least be made more available to play, remake or not. I also would want a remake or another game like Comix Zone, that was a game with a cool concept that wasn’t executed super well.

My wishful remake is Rule of Rose. It such a beautiful and special game, and also was absolutely unfinished. A remake where the clunky combat is fixed or axed entirely would be my dream come true
People who say “just remake bad games” don’t understand the point of remakes. Remakes arent there to fix bad games. They are there to sell people nostalgia, and also pull in new gamers who have always wanted to play but didn’t want to experience outdated controls and graphics from 20 years ago. An example would be RE2 remake. RE2 was a legendary game, but young gamers cant get into it because of outdated graphics and tank control. By remaking RE2, Capcom is selling the game to the people who grew up playing RE 2 and have fond memories of it AND people who want to play RE 2 but didn’t because the game was already outdated when they got into gaming. Remaking a bad game doesn’t sell, because people don’t have the same fond nostalgia towards a shit game. No one is going to say “Wow I cant play to experience Colonial Marines all over again.” New players also aren’t interested because they have heard plenty of bad things about it.
No studio and publisher will do such because of how financially risky it would be and a waste of time. Does not matter if said failed game has a loyal fanbase. Better to just work on successful IPs with huge fanbase along with their nostalgia factor. That's the way it will always work in the industry.... SUCCESS, NOSTALGIA, FANBASE.
Would accept a Gerard Way remake of Comix Zone with Nick Derington as an artist. Their Doom Patrol run was one of my favorite comic runs ever and I'd love to see them reunite with a story as weird and interesting as Comix Zone's

He immediately became like a different person, and talked to me openly and happily about comics for like an hour. He talked about what he wanted to do, his favourite comics, his favourite artists, underrated graphic novels... Seriously, the passion he showed was impossible to fake. It made me feel like his music career was just an enabler for his comics. He even badmouthed his own work on Umbrella Academy ("my original idea was like a Salinger like Glass Family of X-men and I don't feel I did it well... I should have given the concept to a different writer). A lot of the things he said he would do differently if he did Umbrella Academy again ended up in the Netflix series and the 2018 issues he did. I think even Gerard prefers his comics career to his music career sometimes, based on that interaction. Also Mindless Self Indulgence were playing support and Jimmy Urine was a complete creep. That's unrelated but yeha. Gross.
Honestly I think one of the best examples of a redo remake is Shadows of Valentia, I’d love to see them do something similar with Genealogy of the Holy War
@pabs the only reason why that Fire Emblem redo remake of Shadows of Valentia failed was due to it being a late release on the 3DS with the Switch if I recall correctly was either already out or on the horizon, so yeah never a great mix for any game sales.
I did hear a rumor on Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War getting remade, I did hear Nintendo planned to do another Fire Emblem remake alongside Shadows of Valentia and just refer these remakes as the "Echoes" sub series of releases, not sure if it was the Holy War one, but there was some data stating the most recent Fire Emblem game with the way the project name was listed, it seems there is a project missing and there's enough fingers pointing towards that game getting the remake treatment.

Bruh pointing out Mirrors Edge Catalyst should be more like Sonic Frontiers blew my mind. Little mini navigation challenges all over the place with progression rewards would make the open world more engaging and incentivize exploration.
Spore would be great to bring back! I'd love to see all the content they were planning in the earlier stages of the games development and implement them into a newer engine with even more parts to add to your alien/creatures. It deserves another try with how popular the game was even when most at the time deemed it as "disappointing"
It doesn't start easy either. I remember having so much trouble as a kid doing that long jump in the first level. Played it last year and spent ages trying to slog through the other two levels.
I wish they'd just fiddled with Battleborn so that players aware that support had been dropped for it, but it was something like campaign only, or multiplayer could only be with friends / bots, anything to keep it alive in some way or other.
Comix Zone is such a good game but it is really unforgiving. However, it is also very deceptive. Because it's a beat 'em up, it makes you think you can brute force your way through everything but that's how it punishes you. The game has several moments where you are supposed to use your brain and figure out an alternative solution to the current problem. Like the metal door on the first panel of the second chapter. You can use your fists or the paper airplane move to break it at the cost of health but what the game actually wants you to do is to release the rat on this panel and it will rip a part of the page to reveal a hidden TNT. Then you use that to blow up the metal door. Same for the big mouth monster on the second panel of the fifth chapter. Release the rat and it will walk into the monster's mouth. The monster will close its mouth and you can jump behind it and strike it from the back until it dies. Then you can retrieve your rat. The game actually has a lot of puzzles like these. Comix Zone is more about brains than brawn. It is an incredibly unique gem from its time which makes it one of the more interesting games of the 16-bit era.
Legend of Dragoon absolutely needs a remake. Not only would the gameplay benefit from a lot of the "Snapiness" that you mentioned with Persona 2, but the original translation is.... "What? You say you are fighting the Divine Dragon?!"
I'd love a prequel focused on the Dragon Campaign, personally. Then a proper remake of LOD. Could even have a DLC sidegame based on Rose's life of traveling and fulfilling her mission.

Obviously it’s not disappointing but Dead Rising needs a game in Japan set in some brand new Japanese Mall in Tokyo that’s enormous and filled with psychopaths cosplaying their favorite video game or anime. You could even have old heads dress up in old Japanese attire (ninja, Samurai, onmyoji, etc.) Main character’s name Inosuke Sato. Nerd reporter extraordinaire who grows into his own during all the events of a zombie outbreak.
LucasArts' Fracture could use a reimagining. The concept of raising and lowering terrain was interesting. I enjoyed it for what it was (which was a tech demo for the engine that powers Star Wars: The Force Unleashed)

I would love to see a new Singularity. It was Raven Software's last game before they were forced to only work on Call Of Duty back in 2010. I would just like to see them make anything other than COD.
Here's an idea... Soldier of Fortune. I'm only half joking, it would probably be just like CoD but a more gory, visceral, slowed down and brutal CoD could be fun ? I know It's cool to hate on CoD but I pick it up (though I don't buy all of them) as It's the only way some friends and I stay in touch. I have heard that Raven did the campaign for Call of Duty Cold War and that campaign was seriously excellent and I wish it went on longer.

The concept of Dark Void appeals to me. Team up with Nikola Tesla to fight aliens while flying around like the Rocketeer. Never got the chance to play it but I heard the gameplay left much to be desired.
Its not bad! Its worst offense IMO is that, story and gameplay wise, the game seems to be revving up for a great third act and instead just -ends-. Supposedly Capcom lost faith in the project mid-developent, and cut out the funding. Game ends up feeling like an overlong prologue, could've been much better.

Remakes and remasters give modern day gamers the opportunity to enjoy the games we played growing up. And, let’s face it, some of the quality of life additions to these games can be worth the price of admission. Sometimes the nostalgia glasses let us overlook the rough edges on some of these games.

Dang, Austin's really pumping out the content recently. On the topic of JRPGs, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be fascinated to see The Legend of Dragoon make a return. Lot of interesting ideas to change up the turn-based combat in that one, with timing-based combos and defending letting you regenerate health, being able to limit break into Super Sentai forms, etc., all stuff they could really iterate on now while also refining the actual story and world to be a little less Generic Fantasy RPG.
Sonic R already got a remake. The PC port (which is what the Sonic Gems Collection version is based on) fixed a number of issues from the original Saturn release.

I went straight for the coop option immediately and played the entire game that way since I was visiting a friend when it came it out and we played through the entire game in one day. I’ll have to try playing solo one of these days.
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, should be remade with good controls & durable weapons. I'm also surprised divisive games like Zelda 2, Castlevania 2 or Final Fantasy 2 were never remade when there's so much room for improvement. And WHEN are we getting Fire Emblems 3 thru 6? I thought Echoes was the start of a remake series, so where are they? The original release of FE3 even contains a remake of 1 so we'd get every classic Fire Emblem remade. Better than an anniversary limited time release.
Echoes didn't really sell well, even though that could be explained by the game releasing very late on the 3DS lifespan. Hopefully they'll be willing to go back to the well one of these days.
Diner Dash. They turned a fun series of time management restaurant games and their spin offs (Avenue Flo, DinerTown Tycoon, Wedding, Cooking, Hotel, Parking, Soap Opera, Fitness, etc.) into a free single to play game. Wish they would bring the original games back and put them on Steam (and maybe also on consoles (they might work with the Switch's touch screen)).
I know RE5 is the most likely to be remade next but I feel like I would want either RE0 or Code Veronica to be remade beforehand, as they were some of the last unremade games on non-HD systems
Robo Pit is one of those PS1/Sega Saturn titles I wouldn't mind seeing a proper remake/reboot for either consoles or PC. As someone who's only experienced the first game and found it to be held back by limitations and underwhelming gameplay, I'm still intrigued by the concept of a Robot Arena Fighter that lets you customize your own personal battle bot and compete against various designer creations, while building an arsenal of weapons to experiment with during combat. Not entirely sure which developer could pick up the IP and go from there, since Altron themselves don't seem to give a shit about their older works anymore.

Of all the obscure and a less well known games I still own on PS2... *Gregory Horror Show* 💗 I found it in a Spanish GAME store while on holiday as a kid, never hearing of it and not knowing what it was. Played it a few days later when I got home and fell in love with it! I was horrible at it as I was only 7 but the art style and quirk of the game had me hooked replaying the opening few soul collections over and over again. I rediscovered and finished it a few years ago and it still holds up, but a lick of paint and gameplay update would not go amiss to me and I would buy it without hesitation!
Dude Battleborn is the game I want most of all to be remade. Like I remember seeing its initial teaser coming out months before Overwatch was announced but it just kinda slid off the Zeitgeist. Comes out and people just look at it and assume its a copycat even though the two games played NOTHING alike. Not to mention that DOPE AS FUCK Opening animation. Plus Marquis is exactly my kind of character. I miss it man.
I definitely agree that remakes should be going towards games that actually need them and not games that have withstood the test of time. My list would include: - Super Mario Sunshine - Ice Climber - Jump Force - the first two Sengoku Basara games - the DS Kingdom Hearts games

The big problem with old game design is home console was still based on quarter eating mentality, where money was essentially a pay to win cheat code for more lives. It was good game design for the corporate wallet in the arcade.
It’s less deserving a remake but more deserving a second go. I personally think the vehicular building of Banjo Kazooie should be brought back alongside the OG Collect-A-Thon gameplay. Imagine a mix of missions involving platforming and vehicles. Heck maybe you could get to new worlds with the vehicles.
They could make their own IP from that, the name? Obvious, just: nuts & bolts, make a squirrel and a robot protagonist and leave banjo and kazooie as the post game super boss.

I would LOVE a Kodelka remake. the game has great atmossphere, but jesus it is sooo slow. just going somewhere and fighting stuff takes ages and a remake could really fix that
Billy Hatcher is a game and character that SEGA had at least some love for, given the number of cameos he made after his game came out. The problem though, is the game was INCREDIBLY average and sold like absolute shit. It definitely needs another chance, a lot of the games mechanics feel like they weren’t fully fleshed out.
It's always nice to hear people talk about Battleborn in a way that doesn't just boil it down to its commercial failure or blame that failure on the slightest flaw. Despite the passage of time, there are still fans and gamers who want to play Battleborn again. This is evidenced by a recently created petition which has already accumulated over 2000 signatures. (It's not huge, but it's not nothing). The name of the petition is "Battle Re-born" by the way. It would be great if the game could come back ! I know it would be for me...and +2000 other people.
Resident Evil Outbreak should be a big no brainier for Capcom right now. The Engine, lots of the assets, netcode all ready to go to slap into a re-imagined Outbreak game for 2023.

The first game that comes to mind the moment I saw this title was Alpha Protocol. I wouldn't call it disappointing but holy hell does it need a redo cause it was such a rad game under a clusterfuck of bugs. Also I legit lol'd at "street level heroes like venom, storm" hahahahaha, STORM, STREET LEVEL? She's one of the most powerful mutants in existence.
keiji isn't Mega Mans creator that would be Akira Kitamura. keiji was the guy with little talent that would take the reigns during the X series and aside from Mega Man X 1-4 the rest were trash. Not to mention his ego is over-inflated for no reason at all. His lack of humbleness is just sad, and as you can see he ran away with that money and didn't even give the people a real game, just a real shame. Seriously stop calling that trash the creator of Mega Man.
I personally consider Mighty Gunvolt Burst to be a remake of Mighty No. 9. It's got the same 8 bosses and stage themes, so it's close enough in my book. I'd still be down with seeing Inti Creates go all in and make a proper 2.5D remake.
Mercenaries 2 - World in Flames. The first one was great because it was serious - that weird tone they took with the sequel was the killer for me. Drop that and just make a good follow up!
Zelda 2 is my number one choice here. That game is really cool, it just needs to be smoothed out in some places and there's a ton of cool new stuff you could do with its basic design skeleton.
The fan-made Enhanced PC Edition really showed how much Zelda II would benefit from basic quality-of-life features and additional content. Even just the bare minimum effort like having more starting points beyond North Palace would do a lot.
There are a TON of PS1/N64 games I would love to see remade. Really any games that came out on very restricted hardware, that could live up to it's full potential with modern graphics and controls. Parasite Eve 1 & 2 are on the top of my list (wish they both use combat mechanics of the first game), Dino Crisis, Final Fantasy VIII, Koudelka, Perfect Dark, Turok, etc. Not all would need full 3D remakes either, if they used pre-rendered background back in the day, it could rather be a remake like Resident Evil 1 for GameCube, done in HD. Just higher fidelity background, models and quality of life improvement.

I think Balan Wonderworld could've gotten a remake. The main gameplay diversified with which character you choose: - Emma Cole: Can Run Quickly with the ZL and ZR while using Y to guard and roll when moving. - Leo Craig: His run with ZL and ZR allows him to scale and run along walls like a blue blur. He can also punch people in the face with Y and slide when moving around. Instead of going with trauma like Psyhconauts the game could instead deal with the aftermath of death. Leo Craig dies due to becoming addicted to the trill of action, not account his weak heart that goes into arrest after too much exertion. He takes death as an escape from his weak physical body. Emma Cole dies hesistantly from a long wait for a kidney transplant. She lived a life of isolation from her peers within the orphanage, hopefully awaiting parents that would've called her their own. She now seeks companionship while fearing everything around her. The Balan Theater is an afterlife that welcomes newly freed souls to a land of new opportunities. Like a farmer who rules over the land of corn, Or the queen that sends dolphins to eternal torture, And the Chessmaster that awaits a worthy challenger. Of course, both playable characters can Jump with B, Stomp, Slide & Crawl with A, and Use costumes. These costumes include: - The Air Cat that floats above danger - The Spinning Mermaid that can Drill swiftly through the water with ease - The Tornado Wolf that blows away all who dare come close - The Scarlet Oueen that sends shockwaves with every foot stomp Balan hopefully guides these lost souls to an eternal life of comfort... So long as Lance doesn't lead any of them into sinful pleasure.
This is an important topic and something I get behind a lot. Past "failures" can be future accomplishments. When it comes to Resident Evil, the game that needs a total redo is Gun Survivor - especially since it's confirmed canon and the direction the new instalments in the series have gone is what that game tried to be and would benefit greatly from now. Also with Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 getting remakes, I'm always hoping for a Castlevania 64 + Legacy of Darkness remake.
It's Canon ? I guess they could always make it play like 7/Village and just make it a Survival Horror FPS. Really when it comes to REmakes I would like to see Code Veronica get one the most.

Also, it was acknowledged in the opening of RE0 - Sheena Island is listed along with Raccoon City (RE2/Nemesis) and Rockfort Island (CV). Rather than pretend the game doesn't exist, it would be better to redeem it.
I can see either a Comic Zone remake or sequel, Sega did announce theyre doing a movie based on it...if that happens. The Gargoyles Quest trilogy could do with remakes, I love them but they could do with being rejiggered. Demons Crest could do with its slowdown removed.

No other game has disappointed me in the way Evolve did. I know people have lost faith in TurtleRock since Back 4 Blood wasn’t the greatest but man Evolve had so much potential and 2K completely screwed it up. I just want it to get a second chance (or third I guess if you count “Stage 2” as a separate thing)
I am a big fan of Silicon Knights and Too Human needs some love. I love the idea behind the story, I played it a ton and loved the action and phat lewts.
Asura's Wrath was good for what it was, but i feel like cyber connect 2 dropped the ball on that game. The first trailer for that game had me so hyped. Then it came out and while its got great action scenes combat just seemed lackluster.

I just want a really solid, unironically fun Bubsy platformer. But since the last two games were mid, I guess he's not getting a redemption arc anytime soon
I'm not sure if they count, but I think both Pokemon Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet deserve remakes in the future with all the bugs squashed and the devs given more time to figure things out. They have neat ideas that were somewhat ruined because of Nintendo forcing the "one Pokemon game a year" thing.
About Mighty N°9, it technicaly got remade as Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a crossover game with IntiCreates' Gunvolt series (a spiritual successor to MegaMan Zero that rocks, you should try it)
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and just the entirety of the TLOS trilogy, is rather interesting as it served as a dark and edgy reboot to Spyro, something many disliked, but I do think it has a soul as you can see just how much creativity and charm was poured into it despite its cynical origins. The console versions of A New Beginning and The Eternal Night are rather monotonous action games that imo aren't really worth playing nowadays (and probably never really were worth playing, although I love how creative the elemental abilities get in TEN), however, the HD and SD versions of Dawn of the Dragon get a lot more interesting and can actually be rather fun to play at times, but still fall short. I'd be interested in seeing some kind of remake/reimagining of these games, especially since there's quite a bit of cut story content, and I'd also love versions of ANB and TEN that aren't monotonous and at times miserable to play.
I would love to see an SSX3 remake for current gen consoles. Best snowboarding game I've ever experienced and the music was sublime. I can't believe its been 20 years.
EA done a reboot in 2012 and look how that turned out. Some say SSX Tricky was the best and deserves a remaster/remake but personally Id favour SSX3 to tricky. SSX4 was techinally SSX on tour and that was meh... #EAgetoffyourlazyasses.

I really wish they would go back, polish it, clean up the bugs, put back in all the content that got cut, etc. When you play Crash Twinsanity and look up cut content you can feel the untapped potential that game has, if travelers tales didn't get rushed and crunched by Activision i sincerely believe Crash Twinsanity might have been the best Crash Bandicoot game of the series

Brutal Legend deserves another go to get the band back together. The game had a good story and great 3rd person action sections, but the RTS sections were a nightmare on console. If you want to keep the RTS sections, then just release it on PC.
It's not. They stripped out a lot of the speed (note: NOT speed _running_) that made Mighty No. 9 feel more like an in-between classic Mega Man and Mega Man X, the puzzle like elements, and in my honest opinion the weapon customization doesn't hold a candle to what you can do with other side-scrolling Mega Man weapons or even Mighty No. 9's take on Mega Man ZX's transformation abilities.
I'd love for the Army Men series to come back. A game that plays similarly to Battlefield, but with an anachronistic array of vehicles and weapons from all over history and modernity, in giant environments like living rooms and back yards.
Me and my entire neighborhood were all about that series, someone was always at least renting the new entry throughout the PS1's lifetime. It's a good gimmick and adding 4 player, objective based versus would be a good direction to take it; make it a combination of tower defense for your base while having to also infiltrate another player's

While a remake could be good, I think the original Persona and the Persona 2 duology should at the very least be made more available to play, remake or not. I also would want a remake or another game like Comix Zone, that was a game with a cool concept that wasn’t executed super well.

Mighty No. 9 was basically remade in 8 bit as Mighty Gunvolt Burst, which combined the Mighty and Gunvolt. It’s also absolutely fantastic.
Funny how Burst is essentially also a remake of the original Mighty Gunvolt, if anything, both games will be remembered for having "OwO what's this?" as final boss speech unironically

People who say “just remake bad games” don’t understand the point of remakes.
Remakes arent there to fix bad games. They are there to sell people nostalgia, and also pull in new gamers who have always wanted to play but didn’t want to experience outdated controls and graphics from 20 years ago. An example would be RE2 remake. RE2 was a legendary game, but young gamers cant get into it because of outdated graphics and tank control. By remaking RE2, Capcom is selling the game to the people who grew up playing RE 2 and have fond memories of it AND people who want to play RE 2 but didn’t because the game was already outdated when they got into gaming.
Remaking a bad game doesn’t sell, because people don’t have the same fond nostalgia towards a shit game. No one is going to say “Wow I cant play to experience Colonial Marines all over again.” New players also aren’t interested because they have heard plenty of bad things about it.
I can assure you, modern day video games can easily find a way to disappoint

He even badmouthed his own work on Umbrella Academy ("my original idea was like a Salinger like Glass Family of X-men and I don't feel I did it well... I should have given the concept to a different writer). A lot of the things he said he would do differently if he did Umbrella Academy again ended up in the Netflix series and the 2018 issues he did.
I think even Gerard prefers his comics career to his music career sometimes, based on that interaction.

@pabs the only reason why that Fire Emblem redo remake of Shadows of Valentia failed was due to it being a late release on the 3DS with the Switch if I recall correctly was either already out or on the horizon, so yeah never a great mix for any game sales.
I did hear a rumor on Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War getting remade, I did hear Nintendo planned to do another Fire Emblem remake alongside Shadows of Valentia and just refer these remakes as the "Echoes" sub series of releases, not sure if it was the Holy War one, but there was some data stating the most recent Fire Emblem game with the way the project name was listed, it seems there is a project missing and there's enough fingers pointing towards that game getting the remake treatment.

Sonic Forces is underrated design wise. Hedgehog Engine 2 was just not designed to handle what it threw at it, hence all the pop in.
Spore would be great to bring back! I'd love to see all the content they were planning in the earlier stages of the games development and implement them into a newer engine with even more parts to add to your alien/creatures. It deserves another try with how popular the game was even when most at the time deemed it as "disappointing"

'Comix Zone' is a hidden gem, but the difficulty scales way, way UP fast.
It doesn't start easy either. I remember having so much trouble as a kid doing that long jump in the first level. Played it last year and spent ages trying to slog through the other two levels.
I wish they'd just fiddled with Battleborn so that players aware that support had been dropped for it, but it was something like campaign only, or multiplayer could only be with friends / bots, anything to keep it alive in some way or other.
Comix Zone is such a good game but it is really unforgiving. However, it is also very deceptive. Because it's a beat 'em up, it makes you think you can brute force your way through everything but that's how it punishes you. The game has several moments where you are supposed to use your brain and figure out an alternative solution to the current problem. Like the metal door on the first panel of the second chapter. You can use your fists or the paper airplane move to break it at the cost of health but what the game actually wants you to do is to release the rat on this panel and it will rip a part of the page to reveal a hidden TNT. Then you use that to blow up the metal door. Same for the big mouth monster on the second panel of the fifth chapter. Release the rat and it will walk into the monster's mouth. The monster will close its mouth and you can jump behind it and strike it from the back until it dies. Then you can retrieve your rat. The game actually has a lot of puzzles like these. Comix Zone is more about brains than brawn. It is an incredibly unique gem from its time which makes it one of the more interesting games of the 16-bit era.

Legend of Dragoon absolutely needs a remake. Not only would the gameplay benefit from a lot of the "Snapiness" that you mentioned with Persona 2, but the original translation is.... "What? You say you are fighting the Divine Dragon?!"
I'd love a prequel focused on the Dragon Campaign, personally. Then a proper remake of LOD. Could even have a DLC sidegame based on Rose's life of traveling and fulfilling her mission.

Its not bad! Its worst offense IMO is that, story and gameplay wise, the game seems to be revving up for a great third act and instead just -ends-. Supposedly Capcom lost faith in the project mid-developent, and cut out the funding. Game ends up feeling like an overlong prologue, could've been much better.
The big problem is that it feels very obviously unfinished.

Remakes and remasters give modern day gamers the opportunity to enjoy the games we played growing up. And, let’s face it, some of the quality of life additions to these games can be worth the price of admission. Sometimes the nostalgia glasses let us overlook the rough edges on some of these games.

On the topic of JRPGs, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be fascinated to see The Legend of Dragoon make a return. Lot of interesting ideas to change up the turn-based combat in that one, with timing-based combos and defending letting you regenerate health, being able to limit break into Super Sentai forms, etc., all stuff they could really iterate on now while also refining the actual story and world to be a little less Generic Fantasy RPG.

I went straight for the coop option immediately and played the entire game that way since I was visiting a friend when it came it out and we played through the entire game in one day. I’ll have to try playing solo one of these days.

Echoes didn't really sell well, even though that could be explained by the game releasing very late on the 3DS lifespan. Hopefully they'll be willing to go back to the well one of these days.
Diner Dash. They turned a fun series of time management restaurant games and their spin offs (Avenue Flo, DinerTown Tycoon, Wedding, Cooking, Hotel, Parking, Soap Opera, Fitness, etc.) into a free single to play game. Wish they would bring the original games back and put them on Steam (and maybe also on consoles (they might work with the Switch's touch screen)).

Robo Pit is one of those PS1/Sega Saturn titles I wouldn't mind seeing a proper remake/reboot for either consoles or PC.
As someone who's only experienced the first game and found it to be held back by limitations and underwhelming gameplay, I'm still intrigued by the concept of a Robot Arena Fighter that lets you customize your own personal battle bot and compete against various designer creations, while building an arsenal of weapons to experiment with during combat.
Not entirely sure which developer could pick up the IP and go from there, since Altron themselves don't seem to give a shit about their older works anymore.

Of all the obscure and a less well known games I still own on PS2... *Gregory Horror Show* 💗 I found it in a Spanish GAME store while on holiday as a kid, never hearing of it and not knowing what it was. Played it a few days later when I got home and fell in love with it! I was horrible at it as I was only 7 but the art style and quirk of the game had me hooked replaying the opening few soul collections over and over again.
I rediscovered and finished it a few years ago and it still holds up, but a lick of paint and gameplay update would not go amiss to me and I would buy it without hesitation!
Also, it would be nice if they actually release it in the US. Only way us Americans can play it is on an emulator.
A lot of Capcom's licensed games should get rereleased or remade, like Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge and the Rosario+Vampire DS game

Dude Battleborn is the game I want most of all to be remade. Like I remember seeing its initial teaser coming out months before Overwatch was announced but it just kinda slid off the Zeitgeist.

- Jump Force
- the first two Sengoku Basara games
- the DS Kingdom Hearts games
Alpha protocol is top of my list. It’s still funny af to play now with all the jank but keeping all the freedom of choices and overhaul everything else you get a masterpiece

The big problem with old game design is home console was still based on quarter eating mentality, where money was essentially a pay to win cheat code for more lives. It was good game design for the corporate wallet in the arcade.
Modern game design isn't much different. Many games are just Skinner box's designed to extract money through psychological manipulation.
It’s less deserving a remake but more deserving a second go. I personally think the vehicular building of Banjo Kazooie should be brought back alongside the OG Collect-A-Thon gameplay. Imagine a mix of missions involving platforming and vehicles. Heck maybe you could get to new worlds with the vehicles.
They could make their own IP from that, the name? Obvious, just: nuts & bolts, make a squirrel and a robot protagonist and leave banjo and kazooie as the post game super boss.

Billy Hatcher is a game and character that SEGA had at least some love for, given the number of cameos he made after his game came out. The problem though, is the game was INCREDIBLY average and sold like absolute shit. It definitely needs another chance, a lot of the games mechanics feel like they weren’t fully fleshed out.
It's always nice to hear people talk about Battleborn in a way that doesn't just boil it down to its commercial failure or blame that failure on the slightest flaw.
Despite the passage of time, there are still fans and gamers who want to play Battleborn again. This is evidenced by a recently created petition which has already accumulated over 2000 signatures. (It's not huge, but it's not nothing).
The name of the petition is "Battle Re-born" by the way.
It would be great if the game could come back ! I know it would be for me...and +2000 other people.

Resident Evil Outbreak should be a big no brainier for Capcom right now. The Engine, lots of the assets, netcode all ready to go to slap into a re-imagined Outbreak game for 2023.

The first game that comes to mind the moment I saw this title was Alpha Protocol. I wouldn't call it disappointing but holy hell does it need a redo cause it was such a rad game under a clusterfuck of bugs.
Also I legit lol'd at "street level heroes like venom, storm" hahahahaha, STORM, STREET LEVEL? She's one of the most powerful mutants in existence.
keiji isn't Mega Mans creator that would be Akira Kitamura. keiji was the guy with little talent that would take the reigns during the X series and aside from Mega Man X 1-4 the rest were trash. Not to mention his ego is over-inflated for no reason at all. His lack of humbleness is just sad, and as you can see he ran away with that money and didn't even give the people a real game, just a real shame. Seriously stop calling that trash the creator of Mega Man.

Everyone's first Persona was 4. Literally 100% of the humans on earth.
I personally consider Mighty Gunvolt Burst to be a remake of Mighty No. 9. It's got the same 8 bosses and stage themes, so it's close enough in my book. I'd still be down with seeing Inti Creates go all in and make a proper 2.5D remake.
Mercenaries 2 - World in Flames. The first one was great because it was serious - that weird tone they took with the sequel was the killer for me. Drop that and just make a good follow up!
Zelda 2 is my number one choice here. That game is really cool, it just needs to be smoothed out in some places and there's a ton of cool new stuff you could do with its basic design skeleton.

The fan-made Enhanced PC Edition really showed how much Zelda II would benefit from basic quality-of-life features and additional content. Even just the bare minimum effort like having more starting points beyond North Palace would do a lot.

There are a TON of PS1/N64 games I would love to see remade. Really any games that came out on very restricted hardware, that could live up to it's full potential with modern graphics and controls. Parasite Eve 1 & 2 are on the top of my list (wish they both use combat mechanics of the first game), Dino Crisis, Final Fantasy VIII, Koudelka, Perfect Dark, Turok, etc. Not all would need full 3D remakes either, if they used pre-rendered background back in the day, it could rather be a remake like Resident Evil 1 for GameCube, done in HD. Just higher fidelity background, models and quality of life improvement.

The main gameplay diversified with which character you choose:
- Emma Cole: Can Run Quickly with the ZL and ZR while using Y to guard and roll when moving.
- Leo Craig: His run with ZL and ZR allows him to scale and run along walls like a blue blur. He can also punch people in the face with Y and slide when moving around.
Instead of going with trauma like Psyhconauts the game could instead deal with the aftermath of death.
Leo Craig dies due to becoming addicted to the trill of action, not account his weak heart that goes into arrest after too much exertion.
He takes death as an escape from his weak physical body.
Emma Cole dies hesistantly from a long wait for a kidney transplant. She lived a life of isolation from her peers within the orphanage, hopefully awaiting parents that would've called her their own.
She now seeks companionship while fearing everything around her.
The Balan Theater is an afterlife that welcomes newly freed souls to a land of new opportunities.
Like a farmer who rules over the land of corn,
Or the queen that sends dolphins to eternal torture,
And the Chessmaster that awaits a worthy challenger.
Of course, both playable characters can Jump with B, Stomp, Slide & Crawl with A, and Use costumes.
These costumes include:
- The Air Cat that floats above danger
- The Spinning Mermaid that can Drill swiftly through the water with ease
- The Tornado Wolf that blows away all who dare come close
- The Scarlet Oueen that sends shockwaves with every foot stomp

This is an important topic and something I get behind a lot. Past "failures" can be future accomplishments.
When it comes to Resident Evil, the game that needs a total redo is Gun Survivor - especially since it's confirmed canon and the direction the new instalments in the series have gone is what that game tried to be and would benefit greatly from now.
Also with Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 getting remakes, I'm always hoping for a Castlevania 64 + Legacy of Darkness remake.

Also, it was acknowledged in the opening of RE0 - Sheena Island is listed along with Raccoon City (RE2/Nemesis) and Rockfort Island (CV). Rather than pretend the game doesn't exist, it would be better to redeem it.

No other game has disappointed me in the way Evolve did. I know people have lost faith in TurtleRock since Back 4 Blood wasn’t the greatest but man Evolve had so much potential and 2K completely screwed it up. I just want it to get a second chance (or third I guess if you count “Stage 2” as a separate thing)
I am a big fan of Silicon Knights and Too Human needs some love. I love the idea behind the story, I played it a ton and loved the action and phat lewts.
I personally want to see remakes/reboots of Legacy of Kaine Blood Omen and Golden Axe Beast Rider.
Mighty Gunvolt is sorta a remake of Mighty No. 9. The story is different but the level theming and bosses are the same.

Asura's Wrath was good for what it was, but i feel like cyber connect 2 dropped the ball on that game. The first trailer for that game had me so hyped. Then it came out and while its got great action scenes combat just seemed lackluster.
For Marvel they should give the license to Capcom to do something like Power Stone 2.

I'm not sure if they count, but I think both Pokemon Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet deserve remakes in the future with all the bugs squashed and the devs given more time to figure things out. They have neat ideas that were somewhat ruined because of Nintendo forcing the "one Pokemon game a year" thing.
About Mighty N°9, it technicaly got remade as Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a crossover game with IntiCreates' Gunvolt series (a spiritual successor to MegaMan Zero that rocks, you should try it)
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and just the entirety of the TLOS trilogy, is rather interesting as it served as a dark and edgy reboot to Spyro, something many disliked, but I do think it has a soul as you can see just how much creativity and charm was poured into it despite its cynical origins. The console versions of A New Beginning and The Eternal Night are rather monotonous action games that imo aren't really worth playing nowadays (and probably never really were worth playing, although I love how creative the elemental abilities get in TEN), however, the HD and SD versions of Dawn of the Dragon get a lot more interesting and can actually be rather fun to play at times, but still fall short. I'd be interested in seeing some kind of remake/reimagining of these games, especially since there's quite a bit of cut story content, and I'd also love versions of ANB and TEN that aren't monotonous and at times miserable to play.
I would love to see an SSX3 remake for current gen consoles. Best snowboarding game I've ever experienced and the music was sublime. I can't believe its been 20 years.

EA done a reboot in 2012 and look how that turned out. Some say SSX Tricky was the best and deserves a remaster/remake but personally Id favour SSX3 to tricky. SSX4 was techinally SSX on tour and that was meh... #EAgetoffyourlazyasses.
One game that i would love to see getting a second chance is Crash Twinsanity. I really wish they would go back, polish it, clean up the bugs, put back in all the content that got cut, etc. When you play Crash Twinsanity and look up cut content you can feel the untapped potential that game has, if travelers tales didn't get rushed and crunched by Activision i sincerely believe Crash Twinsanity might have been the best Crash Bandicoot game of the series

Brutal Legend deserves another go to get the band back together. The game had a good story and great 3rd person action sections, but the RTS sections were a nightmare on console. If you want to keep the RTS sections, then just release it on PC.

Mighty No. 9 got a "remake". It's called Mighty Gunvolt Burst. Almost entirely the same game but with a proper 2D style and some additional elements.
It's not. They stripped out a lot of the speed (note: NOT speed _running_) that made Mighty No. 9 feel more like an in-between classic Mega Man and Mega Man X, the puzzle like elements, and in my honest opinion the weapon customization doesn't hold a candle to what you can do with other side-scrolling Mega Man weapons or even Mighty No. 9's take on Mega Man ZX's transformation abilities.
I would love if P1-P2 duology get remade. I do think a lot of fans would be put off since its more SMT than neosona.
