Really glad I chose to look into her more. She is far, far more than a one trick pony and it's incredibly admirable that she changed her big hit around to reflect her growth as an artist. Mad respect for her and I'll be following her from here on out.
I remember when Bulletproof first came out !!!! lol every one in high school was playing that sht . i will always love La Roux !, she was part of my life growing up for sure
I remember listening to In For The Kill on the approach to Heathrow coming back from New York and seeing the plane behind following the same route as us during the turn and the rusty colour of the morning sun on the iconic landmark buildings of London.
The last album was bad she should just be grateful to her two big hits and that first album that is still to be topped because Supervision was lame every record sounds the same
Was bullet proof that big? 15 years and her vevo music video has only hit like 18 million views compared to other artists that have hundreds of millions of views
I get it, but c´mon you just gotta perform it... On the other hand, why didn´t she put more effort on "Supervision" if she wanted to get "Bulletproof" past.... not talking in terms of succes... I mean in terms of production
She made Supervision at the kitchen bench in her house with an old laptop and a guitar (primarily) because the industry had treated her like crap for ages. She’s worked bloody hard to get away from being manipulated and pigeonholed and the fact that she’s still making music is a testament to her character. The fact that Supervision is retrospective and mostly cheery is incredible. Appreciate it for far more than what it sounds like. Actually, appreciate it for that, too, because it’s got some wonderful hooks and melodies. It’s a damned sight more mature than Bulletproof. And she’s got enough respect for her fans to still play it in a live setting.
God it's so funny that she says creatively it's hard to follow that up I mean come on that's not a song that's super deep in any sense of the word no offense. By the way like the hair like this much better.
She will soon discover that was the real her. Before the huge fame and money. Music is so dead now. But her music is good and even if we didn’t like her new music . She gonna be legendary for one song
I miss Elly Jackson and La Roux in general, had no idea she was 17 at the time and was crushing hard, altough I am only 2 years older I feel weird now with that knowledge.Literally to the point I used a website AI to show what our children would look like and posted it as well as some multipost combo images all over some 4 website or something. But upon further review the song was released in 2008 and she was born in 1988, huh? I know my way around audio production software, and would love to have you on the radio again, forget the prior statements. Have contacts with some artists that are top 10 billboard currently, cant guarentee they'd collab but can put out the line for such. X @GibraltarWhite is my throwaway.
"I could have done it but I didn't want to".. That's a lie she's gotten good at repeating. She tried... they all try.. she's bitter about her failure to repeat it. funny and sad.
Stellarspace who cares. Still plenty of talented people in this world that don't have 'hits'. I'll follow Elly and her ventures as La Roux for her lyrics, her artistic abilities with media & music videos and her honesty about the industry she works in. There is so much more to artists, as people.
That’s the point. She didn’t want to be this pop, megastar. She doesn’t care about releasing hits or dominating the charts. You should really clean out your ears and listen to what she’s saying before you leave another stupid comment.

Great interview and It's crazy how people only get to know you for one thing when there is so much more
Thats why they call it a one hit wonder
She looks good great style

I think somebody must've dumped her or did her wrong, forcing her to create a hit, to up her mood.
Shut up and sing you insufferable ****
Omg, when she talks...I melt...😍😍😍
Her hair looks amazing here just had to say it. Hair goals.
Her look and music will always be is so unique and one of a kind whether she makes it big or not…
She just looks so cool I love her
0:45 I like how she says going back in time. That song is my childhood
I like the ‘Kiss And Not Tell’ chill vibe from her. Lower range but still quirky and fun.

She's so cool 😎
She is a stunning woman and is a legend in her own time, her voice is extraordinary
I always thought that she was the character model for the 2011 tintin , her awesome style is second to none
Elly is a wonderful interesting artist and should be more known in all her own personal style 👍👏👏💚
Gah, I love her style. She's fly as hell.
And that is why people say : " whatever happened to La Roux" " she had that great song and that is the only song of hers that is known " .
“ there will never be another bullet proof”
Citizens Way, Godsmack, The Score.....hold our beers
Radiohead was the original
She still super attractive 12 years later sheesh
Love her jacket!
And yet.... She hasn't aged at all ❤
She's gorgeous

Smiler.
Don't know if she'd straight, but as a very straight man I would totally go gay for her...#iLoveHer!!!!
how can you b gay for a woman if youre a man
i had NO IDEA she was British
I always thought she was French 😂
I don't know why 🤷🏼♀️😂
@@Kazza_8240 i thought she was canadian lmao
@@laur-unstagenameactuallyca1587 you can def hear her accent when she sings though
Pain must've found her, then the song found her.
Its like when you get tattoos at 16 and your 40. Not the same person
never say never.....
Made out with a hotdog, omg that was one time

Nicolás Lukaszewicz she explained that she’s not comfortable with it so let her be

@@Kaykay-bx4jg this. OP sucks.
@@laur-unstagenameactuallyca1587 yes!
@@ShweMyaukMyauk la roux sucks I used to have respect for her as a singer but now she has disappointed me
I think this is actually a symptom of the copyright culture we have now… I can expand if anybody is willing to have a conversation.
She copied the 80's style
God it's so funny that she says creatively it's hard to follow that up I mean come on that's not a song that's super deep in any sense of the word no offense. By the way like the hair like this much better.
had nothing to do with the depth of the song but the popularity lol, its rly not complicated at all what she's trying to convey.
No one here talking about in for the kill
It didn’t help her career when the press got onto the fact she was a he/she
The second album is better anyway
She will soon discover that was the real her. Before the huge fame and money. Music is so dead now. But her music is good and even if we didn’t like her new music . She gonna be legendary for one song

What is she on about, all three of her albums sound the fucking same.
Lol
She had her hair like a pineapple.
tbh its the weakest song on the album (still a strong song! just the others are way better)
tigerlilly, cover my eyes, colorless colour
Shes haht lol

She had In for the kill too
Like…two hit wonder
She's had a couple from that bulletproof album actually. But yeah I get it. Shes the bulletproof girl
You can’t polish a turd
Bulletproof was the worst song on that album anyways
Wild how especially people from the UK sound so different when singing compared to talking
