Flying to BELGRADE, SERBIA 🇷🇸 and Exploring SAVA PROMENADE

  • Next stop-Belgrade, Serbia!
As we left Kosovo, both Paige and I were in agreement that we had an amazing time and it was well worth a visit! To continue onward to Serbia, we were told that we would not be allowed to enter without a COVID test if we were coming from Macedonia, Kosovo, Croatia or Bosnia-but not Albania. Therefore we got a car service to Tirana and bought a one way ticket from there to Belgrade on Air Serbia!
The flight was about 40 minutes, and provided much more comic relief that was necessary, in the form of a screaming child in the row in front of us! 0:00
Once we got to Belgrade, we were able to get through customs without any effort. The agent didn’t even ask us where we were staying, or where we were coming from. We came right down the escalator and met Aleksa who would be picking us up to take us to our AirBNB in Belgrade. 7:19
After exploring the AirBNB, we set out to the promenade (as suggested by Aleksa) to explore it by dark as it is beautifully lit! The bridge is nicely lit in the colors of the Serbian flag, and a great selection of restaurants to choose from. 9:29
When we decided to take a month to travel, there were few options for Americans due to the current health situation. Serbia was one of those options, and as my research continued, I stumbled upon Belgrade on nearly every list of places to see in the Balkans as a highlight of any visit.
This is part ten in a series that started with flying from London, so if you missed part one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten, be sure to check them out! And as always, thank you for watching!!!

Just a tip: As far as Serbs are concerned, Kosovo and Metohija is just region in our country. Saying anything else than that, or using their "flag" is insulting to us. Kosovo is heart of Serbia ❤️
Have a great time in Belgrade! :)

Thank you for your very kind and constructive comment. I don't pretend to be well-versed in the region, and I know that there has been tension in the region. Obviously I come from the USA which recognizes Kosovo as an independent country, and my investment in the argument goes as far as the fact that I received a passport stamp upon crossing the border. I don't intend to offend anyone in Serbia or Kosovo, but realize that no matter how I label a video, someone may be offended. But again, your comment is very well-said and I appreciate the feedback! All that said--Belgrade is an AMAZING city! :-) Happy New Year and have a wonderful day!

@@MrNonrev Albanians are independent while they depend on America, when America and Germany no longer support them, with 4 billion a year, they also lose their independence and can return to Albania, they were forcibly taken away and returned. All the best in Serbia

Welcome to Serbia. You are lucky, because Serbs are Orthodox Christians and they celebrate Christmas Day and Christmas tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Visit the church and enjoy the burning of the Christmas tree.
Serbia has the best food in the world. Today 6.1 is Christmas Day and Serbs eat fish and fish soup. Try it but look for a Vojvodina recipe, red spicy soup

January 7 is Christmas. at 9 am, there is a Christmas liturgy in the largest Orthodox church in the world, the Church of St. Sava. Go and feel it, because you are lucky to be for Orthodox Christmas in Serbia. The temple is magnificent and when you enter, be sure to visit the crypt below the temple. Enjoy the largest mosaic in the world

Plus, there are many citizens of the western countries that see what the west did. One must know, the USA is not the world.

WELCOME to Serbia. About food, you can eat very good quality fast serbian food from bakeries for 2usd both, 1+1. But. You can eat traditional serbian food in restaurants, my recomendation is bohemian street called SKADARLIJA. Choice restaurant which you want. The most famous are:
    TRI SESIRA(3 HATS),
    SESIR MOJ(MY HAT),
?(?) - location is not in Skadarlija, ask, people will tell you where it is.
    ZAVICAJ
    What to eat?.
If you like meat, serbian food is meat and some vegetables, my recomendation is:
KARADJORDJEVA SNICLA(something like VIENNA SNITZL but more serbian).
SARMA(cabage filed with meat inside and rice and some spices)
    AJVAR
    KAJMAK
    CVARCI
    ROASTED PIG
    ....
Just show this mesage to waither and he will know what to bring to the table.
In the most of restaurants you can order food using mobile phone(BAR CODE) if you are scared about COVID 19.
Sorry, my english writing is not so good.
