Kareem and Wilt didn't hate each other.. when I worked at the VA in WLA I use to see them talking together at the Westwood Post Office where they both had PO Boxes several times a week, this was in the late 80s when Kareem was still playing and mid 90s after her retired, two years before Wilt died in 1999 I saw these two giants eating lunch together at Marie Calendar's restaurant on Wilshire Blvd near Beverly Hills... they use to say the same thing about Wilt and Bill Russell disliking each other but behind closed doors they were good friends, Kareem and Wilt may not have been buddy buddies but they respected each other as men and I'm sure they talked out their issues long before Wilt died.
I don’t think they hated each other they just grew apart as Lew became Kareem. He was no longer the kid that looked up to him and was a peer. Sometimes no one does anything wrong it’s just the dynamic of the friendship changes and it doesn’t work anymore.
If Chamberlain and Jabbar played their careers at the same time, We wouldn't be having a conversation of who was better. Wilt was a superior scorer, rebounder and passer and played most of His career against the best centers in the NBA. The game was changed because of Wilt, "enough said."
watch their tapes again, they dont even box out like they do today smh. Physical against their time yes, but I'm pretty sure you mean all time, so no Wilt isnt close to Shaq in physical domination, the rules of Wilt's time just didnt allow much physical play. This is exemplified by the fact that fade away made up almost 50% of Wilt's fg.
I looked at Wilts stats recently. I looked at his per 36. He averaged like 43-44 minutes a game. His per 36 really put his stats in perspective. His per 36 has him only having 3 seasons averaging 30+ points. Lol only two seasons averaging 20+ rebounds. Was just weird to see the differences.

By the time the Lakers reassembled a good team Jabbar was getting over the hill. But he didn't suffer any rapid decline after Milwaukee. His team just suddenly got worse and missed the playoffs for a bit. But something the same happened to Chamberlain when the Warriiors moved to San Francisco. Not immediately, but after they made the finals in.... '64?... they fell off a cliff. They were in the process of setting a league record for losses when Wilt was traded to the 76ers. Then the 76ers set a league record for wins a year and a half later.
It's weird how Kareem said that quote about Wilt but thinks Lebron is the GOAT. Thats very confusing. Because everything he said about Wilt also applies to Lebron lol.
I've been saying it for a while now that LBJ will go the route of wilt not MJ in how they're rembered. Respected for their contributions but not totally revered
@@SayanOfRagnarok I think so too I’ve been saying the same thing as well. You can already see that it’s happened to Michael Jordan. People treat Michael Jordan like he didn’t accomplish anything. 6-0 in the finals. 2 3-peats. Never got to a game 7. 10 times scoring champ. He still has records that nobody’s ever going to touch. He’s done tons of things in the league that no one will ever probably do again. People act like he’s not even that good. so that makes me thinking another 10 to 20 years people will be saying worse things about LeBron. Because if you objectively look at what LeBron has done versus Jordan or even Kareem, it’s really not that impressive. I know LeBron fans are going to get salty, but if you objectively look at it, there’s still other players that have a better overall career than LeBron. They may not have the same stat line he does as far as what they accomplished in their career. But objectively in their era they accomplished more.
@@ikiwheese I think it'll be worse for lebron too he's not as respected by players and right now he brings in money for the league and keeps the media on his side but once he's no longer the cash cow I think more negative stories will come out like how they did with wilt. On MJs side they knew he was competitive liked to gamble and smoke he never really hid that side of him or the fact he was an ass because he could back it up on the court. In LBJs case he cares way more about his public image. And his squeaky clean persona doesn't match the tantrums or moves he makes as LeGM lol. I really want to know Dwades real thoughts on the 2011 finals run. There are clips of him staring daggers at lebron completely fed up and in one interview people took it as a compliment but he said "i thought lebron was even more impressive in practice then he was in the game" or what his teammates really think of him always throwing them under the bus or minimizing their contributions.
@@SayanOfRagnarok I agree it will be interesting to say the least. A lot of lebrons teammates still say Jordan is the best and the ones who don’t basically don’t want to upset him. I can’t wait honestly lol.
Man Wilt felt like his greatness was being forgotten. He might have held a high opinion of himself and his accomplishments that being compared to Kareem rubbed him the wrong way. It might have made him want to start devaluing what Kareem did to make himself seem better which was made Kareem mad, which might have started the problem. But I don’t think they would let something as shallow as this affect their long-standing big brother, little brother bond they seems to have. Even though they had their differences, I believe that they both had love for each other
Hate is not the right word, Wilt helped Kareem a lot when he was young, what there was was professional envy and that speaks to how competitive Wilt was. Wilt is perhaps the best in history but Kareem's work ethic is spectacular, They are both in my top 5 all time.
I do agree that Wilt never got the credit he deserves and was definitely overshadowed by Kareem but in a way rightfully so you can't argue with 6 rings although he was not finals MVP for all those
Jabbar was the better player, Wilt was awesome but he never bought into the team concept, he thought he could win all by himself. Jabbar was a better teammate.
Wilt was on the 2 winningest teams ever before expansion in the late 80s. Better than any Celtic or other Lakers team. He led the league in assists in 1967. Wilt became a role player late in his career, rarely shooting and becoming the most efficient player in NBa history by shooting 72.4% from the floor; still holding the record for shooting percentage today. Wilt's worst rebounding year was 18.6 boards; Kareem never came close to that!
The feud was ridiculous and Wilt was jealous of Kareem’s success but the the truth is a 25 year old Wilt would have destroyed a 25 years old Lou Alcindor
Wilt and Kareem didn't hate each other. In fact, Wilt gave Kareem his clothes when Kareem was still in school. It's all that would fit him. And Wilt Chamberlain was the single most dominant Basketball player that ever lived. These stories are just put out to grab attention.
So Wilt didn’t like Kareem breaking scoring record but Kareem didn’t like LeBron his record. LeBron didn’t show up for Kobe’s statue. So basically A LOT OF EGOS.
Abdul Jabbar was there when Lebron broke the scoring record and said that is one record he won;t ever have to worry about. Abdul Jabbar's legacy is amazing just like the athletes of the 60s and 70s like Muhamamd ali
Wilt Chamberlain was a very good player in the early 60s averaging 50.1 points and 20.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists a game, but As you see When Kareem joined He only averaged 25 points 13 rebounds and 3 assists Kareem is a true beast and deserved that ring more than Wilt. If you look at his popularity and approval polls from 1969 - 73 you'll find out that Richard Nixon was one of the most popular presidents. He won his election and especially his re-election by Landslide margins both in the popular vote and electoral college.
But if you knew anything about politics, economics, and world history, Nixon was clearly a vile demon who worked for the rich
The most popular president of all time. Bar none. Until the deep state decided he had to go & they installed the only unelected POTUS in our history.
he also won in 1960....chicago mafia stole Illinois in 1960, heck they may have stolen other states too

13:54 It's funny how most of Kareem's criticisms of Wilt flow naturally even if you replace 'Wilt' with 'LeBron'.
I noticed that as well, especially the part when Kareem mentioned how Wilt quitting college early because the game got tough! LeBron does the same thing!
What is that goofy ass emoji 💀
I never heard wilt voice before that’s a 1st and congrats on 900k Nonstop
I didn’t know myself that I was a big fan already. I been watching your videos for 2 years already I just enjoying your Trivia & Story about NBA and here I am watching your new upload today, Thank you!
The two greatest big men in NBA history didn't hate each other. Kareem was hanging out with Wilt before he got into the NBA. He was like Wilt's little brother. When Kareem got into the league, the relationship changed because it became more competitive. They were going at each other, and the young Kareem was getting the better of him. They always had great respect for each other.
That was always my take on it.

My brother and friends and i went to many quite a few Mets games during the season via the train, not knowing what would be the culmination of that year!
What a fun year!
Thank you, New York Mets! ⚾️
Kareem at 8:48, "This time, I turned around and faced the basket, and that made him play more honestly. I never did that before." . . . or since
The Kareem vs Wilt rivalry was just 2 champion gladiators competiting at the highest level of their sport. Not much different than the Magic vs Bird rivalry....or the Ali vs Frazier...etc.
5:17 their facial hair combines for a full beard
They truly were opposites in every way, lol.
I understand Wilts dismay. He fought through a tough time to elevate the Black athlete. He made strides where others did not and got no recognition. Now you have a kid that you kind of raised in the realm of professional sports and he’s getting all the praise for your work. Egotistical yes, however that makes a professional athlete. You have to think you’re the best. RIP Wilt!
Two legends, two friends
At 0:12 how wilt tries to look taller than kareem😂

Saw them both play in person. Wilt career free throw percentage 51.1 %. Kareem 72.1 career free throw percentage. Not even close. Kareem with the superior talent and will to get better and win. Wilt great showman and fun guy was too busy in the bedroom to put the time in to improve his horrific team crippling free throw shooting.
Their beards complete each other
They definitely didn’t hate each other they both complimented each other all the time. They had a Jordan/Kobe relationship.
Wilt have always the no.1 Center until Kareem came and start to dethrone.. I think Wilt could smell that..
Wilt's 100-point game is still the greatest scoring record ever and one that will probably last forever, even in the 3-point shot era!
Hows the weather up there?

15 mins! thank you for providing these videos!
Wilt Chamberlain's opinion on Kareem was he could have played defensively at a much higher level and praised Kareem on every other nba stat!
Wilt felt like he helped a young Lew, Jabbar, gave him no respect.
This is helluva hidden gem, for me at least. This was before I was aware of the NBA and I love hearing stories about the stars of the past. I'm not with all of today's manufactured drama, this right here is legitimate "beef"! And I'm here for it. Great story on and off the court!🎉
Kareem is clearly the better man.
HE REFUSED TO GO TO THE NETS BUG OFFER BECAUSE HE ALREADY GAVE HIS WORD YO THE NETS?????
MUCH RESPECT! GOD BLESS KAREEM FOR THAT!
One of the greatest beefs. Kareem stood on bidness and principles. Peace to Wilt but he always lost me with the " White woman are better looking than black woman " BS 🤦🏾

It's Raining! LOL 🤣🤣 Ask dumb questions then deal with the results
I don’t think they hated each other they just grew apart as Lew became Kareem. He was no longer the kid that looked up to him and was a peer. Sometimes no one does anything wrong it’s just the dynamic of the friendship changes and it doesn’t work anymore.

Legendary beef
If Chamberlain and Jabbar played their careers at the same time, We wouldn't be having a conversation of who was better. Wilt was a superior scorer, rebounder and passer and played most of His career against the best centers in the NBA. The game was changed because of Wilt, "enough said."

Outside of Shaq , the most physical center ever Wilt that is.
In basketball the center is the tallest player on the team
No offense to Shaq but Wilt would eat him alive. There has never been a stronger Basketball Player than Wilt
watch their tapes again, they dont even box out like they do today smh.

4:05 LOL THAT IS SO FUNNY

No. It's not.
I love the topics this channel does!
Kareem ain’t been the same since he left Milwaukee
By the time the Lakers reassembled a good team Jabbar was getting over the hill. But he didn't suffer any rapid decline after Milwaukee. His team just suddenly got worse and missed the playoffs for a bit.
But something the same happened to Chamberlain when the Warriiors moved to San Francisco. Not immediately, but after they made the finals in.... '64?... they fell off a cliff. They were in the process of setting a league record for losses when Wilt was traded to the 76ers. Then the 76ers set a league record for wins a year and a half later.
I declined because I had already given my word POWERFUL.
@ikiwheese found out today alot of his old teammates were paid by clutch sports to sign nda's and not talk about his bas performances
I don't know whole lot about basketball stats, but I think overall, Kareem was the better man!
Kareem is the goat
“It’s raining” supervillain material right there
It's the opposite facial hair for me lol
Man Wilt felt like his greatness was being forgotten. He might have held a high opinion of himself and his accomplishments that being compared to Kareem rubbed him the wrong way. It might have made him want to start devaluing what Kareem did to make himself seem better which was made Kareem mad, which might have started the problem. But I don’t think they would let something as shallow as this affect their long-standing big brother, little brother bond they seems to have. Even though they had their differences, I believe that they both had love for each other
rip wilt the stilt
Hate is not the right word, Wilt helped Kareem a lot when he was young, what there was was professional envy and that speaks to how competitive Wilt was. Wilt is perhaps the best in history but Kareem's work ethic is spectacular, They are both in my top 5 all time.
4:10 I died of laughter.
That's one of the funniest things i ever heard
random white dude: "How's the weather up there?"
Wilt: [spits on him] "It's raining"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wilt so insecure. Man Kareem flamed him in that book.. hahahaha.
Jealousy isn’t the way to get stuff you want
