The biggest thing I have noticed since supplenting with methylated vitamins, magnesium and b6...was that I am not easily overstimulated. I was so astounded, I started researching more. I learned about our glutamate to gaba conversion and how adhd brains have poor conversion. I learned my supplementations, especially magnesium and b6, are essential for that process. Then I started learning about excitotoxicity 🤯 Sooo many adhd symptoms are excitotoxicity. So I have finally understood adhd. 1. Chronic inflammation and how it changes the brains structure (think lower gray matter) , it interferes with synaptic pruning (adhd brains have more and it means less efficient pathways), and chronic inflammation influences neurotransmitter dysregulation AND glutamate to Gaba conversion. Racing thoughts etc... That would be a build up of glutamate (the excitatory neurotransmitter. 2. Overall neurotransmitter dysregulation (many things can contribute including neuroinflammatiin, methylation gene mutations, nutritional deficiencies, poor gut health, hormonal imbalances, toxin exposure, chronic stress). 3. Excitotoxicity : brain fog, mental fatigue, memory problems, difficulty retaining information, impaired focus and attentiin, irritability or mood swings, anxiety/restlessness, low tolerance for stress or overstimulation, hyper-reactivity to sensory input, sleep disturbances, fatigue after overstimulation, overstimulation or hypersensitivity to environmental stimuli...long term exposure can contribute to neurodegenerative changes.
Amazing, right? So it all comes down to finding the sources of chronic inglammation and healing it (environmental toxins, processed food, refined sugar, seed oils, leaky gut, insulin resistance, stress, trauma, low vit d, low omega 3 fatty acids) . Balance your neurotransmitters by optimizing nutrition, manage stress, improve gut health, prioritize sleep, exercise regularly, take target supplements, and balance neurotransmitters with herbs like ashwaganda/rhodiola/ holy basil/lions mane/chamomile or lemon balm. Lastly, heal from excitotoxicity by reducing glutamate activity..avoid msg, aspartame, and other flavor enhancers. Supplement magnesium and b6, NAC, Taurine. Protect neurons with antioxidant rich foods. Key supplements are omega 3 fatty acids, vit c, vit e, glutathione, coq10. Reduce neuroinflammatiin. Support neurotransmitter balance with GABA, L tyrosine, 5 htp. Enhance neuroplasticity and repair...exercise, sleep etc

My doctor told me to use Gaba! But always I complain about feel sleepy and he knows that I have narcolepsy (I used provigil) , so after I used GABA , my ability to learn got worse than previous! I am dentistry student and My main issue that I asked him to solve it , it was this that I can’t manage to study ! Now this is my question as You know the GABA will reduce the ability to learn ! Why did you suggest for ADHD ? We are fighting to focus and learn , then you suggest the neurotransmitter that just made me more sleepy and reduce the ability to learn !!!!!!!!

I came across this dairy free yogurt recently called So Delicious. It is made from coconut milk and has a few different flavors. My kids absolutely love it, as do I. Would you recommend that as an acceptable type of yogurt for kids with ADHD?

When buying yogurt I like to buy a plain flavor and add my own fruit to minimize the sugar content as the fruit will contain natural sugars. Some other brands to try are Kite Hill, Forager, CoYo and Good Karma.
