- Hi everyone! I'm Holly! In this video, I'm making a soap that looks so much like marble! I love it!
Our next release date is still in limbo. I've been making so many fun new products! I have 3 curing racks full of soap! Right now I am working on getting bath bombs made. Last week, I lost three days of work due to the extreme cold. Our power company asked everyone to conserve energy and that meant no space heaters, etc.. Well, the soap studio 48 degrees without space heaters. It was COLD! This next week I am going to make more bath bombs and then move on to scrubs. I am going to try to get wax melts made this week also. Anyway, I have a lot of work to get accomplished still before I’m ready to release (a bit overwhelmingly so). I have been filming a lot and that does take away from the time of release preparation. If you can hang in there with me, it will all be worth it!

(This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
30% Lye Concentration
6% Super Fat
40% Olive Oil
20% Coconut Oil
10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
10% Rice Bran Oil
10% Castor Oil
10% Cocoa Butter
1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
*Per Pound of Oil
I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.

Ohhh, anise! I'm not a black licorice fan but love the smell of anise (go figure). This is such an elegant design -- the swirl worked out perfectly.

So beautiful! 💜 LOOOVE black licorice, hubby hates it and so does our son. So when he was growing up, I knew if I wanted to keep some candy in the house for me that they wouldn't gobble up, I'd get a couple bags of Good n Plenty, ha! 😄

I saw a face, too. Looks like a cat. I'm glad you said it. I thought I was delirious. Great marble technique, though. I've seen other marble soaps that were a lot more complicated to produce but not necessarily better. I wish I could keep my batter this fluid.

This is such a delicious soap. I bought 3 of these for Christmas. My husband loves it. I love the fragrance and the bubbles and the creaminess of it.

Star Anise is excellent in tea for chest congestion but i adore the smell of black licorice its really good blended with a tiche of vanilla it smells like a creamy candy! Gorgeous Marbled Soap!!!😍

Hi Holly! Beautiful soap! I love Anise too. Black licorice and original chex mix are some of my favorite snacks! I've never made an Anise soap and should, but I'd probably keep them all because of the smell!!!!

Howdy from Oklahoma Holly! A couple days ago I made your Marble Soap w Anise E.O.! I've only been in the soap making world since May of this year, and I've had anise for a couple months now, but didn't really know what to do with it🤔 Then when you said it smelled like black licorice, so I had to go check it out for myself. And I was like "yeah, that actually does smell like black licorice!"🤯And I love marble, so I thought this was perfect to try out! I agree with you that this soap looks very classy!🎩🧐👌 Thank you for all your videos. I pretty much watch them ery day! I just love your laugh!🤭I've also tried your pumpkin and maple syrup soap idea (I purchased Simi's book after you brought it up in your video. It's awesome!👍)I've added banana to an unscented soap, others I've added milk and or honey to my oils. Holly, for those that the scraping sounds gets to them, they can just mute it. You do a wonderful job making soap and don't need that to worry you. BTW the soap is magical!!!!! I'm really missing your vlogs!!!!!

As others have mentioned in earlier comments, I also see a face on the side of the loaf at about 13 mins - it calls to mind one of those vintage ads for Pears soap, from the late 1800s! Plus, on the next loaf (about 15 mins), a beautiful Venetian mask appears! This is such an elegant soap. I wish I loved anise, but am in the "other" group.... ;)

Holly can you imagine me making a 4 lbs batch of anise? Was like nothing on the container, but the smell is so strong, omg. Your soap is marvelous, mine is plain with real star anise and orange peels powder on top for decoration
