    I luv that you are focusing on the metric system and showing how each measure in the metric system is related to another measure. You measured the volume of the main mould in cm (822 cubic cm) then showed that each cubic cm relates directly to a measure of volume of water...each cubic cm of water = 1 milliliter of water! And then finally showing that each ml of water = 1 gram...all different units of measure each related to each other using water as the medium!

    I have been watching a lot of videos about soap making. Yours are more helpful than others that I have seen. I like them also because they are simple and honest, and I decided to follow your advices and knowledge better than many others that I have watched. I wish I had that wonderful red sand from Australia but I am making soap and adding some sand I just got from the bank of the Arkansas river. Thanks a lot!

    We made some soap based on someone else's video, before we found your channel. My husband is the wannabe soup maker. He is recently retired and was looking for something to do when it's too hot to go outdoors. He has watched several of your videos and just did a batch of soap today. He used this video plus the Formulate and Calculate your own soap recipes to determine how much of each ingredient to use. This was his second batch of soap. Each mold was filled and we were short just a little. He also used a 40% LC as opposed to his first batch which he figures was around 31% Thank you for your soap making videos. They are the best we have seen so far. My husband appreciates you taking the time to explain the technical parts of soap making. We are looking forward to watching more as he is also wanting to make sourdough bread as well.

    You are the best teacher for any beginner or advance soap makers. Students can even learn maths from you😂😂😂you’re just amazing. Thank you so much for everything. One question, what do you prefer to be the weight of each soap?and how to you make sure that’s the weight of each soap when you use a wooden bar and have to cut soaps?

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, and thank you! The weight of your soap is a personal preference. Some people like large bars, some smaller. I don't weigh my bars, I just cut them to the size that looks nice to me. If you want them to be more accurate you can use a multi-soap cutter :)

      When I moved to Australia (from the USA) as a 35 yr old, using the metric system felt like a monumental task. TBH, I still have issues with maths in general but learning to use the metric system became easier with use.
      I'll be honest, the hardest thing now is dealing with an american recipe for cooking food, because american tablespoons are 15 ml, but Australian tbsp are 20ml. Cup sizes are also different. To make things even more difficult, some cups & spoons are made for the american market and so have a different volume than the "standard australian" cup/spoon size. So.... I end up measuring by milliliters, or a tbsp = 3tsp, so I dish up the spices by teaspoon. I just have to make sure I keep my cup & spoon sets together instead of mixing and matching.
      I rely on Google for a lot of translations. And while I'm working one can often hear me randomly call out, "Hey Google! Convert 350° F to C" or "He Google! How many tablespoons are in a cup?" Etc. It's great for working while my hands are occupied.
