I have 3 Weims. A few weeks ago I was working in the front yard with the garage door up, and came inside for an iced tea break. While sitting in front of the coffee table, the smartest Weim throws open the sliding glass door from the fenced in backyard, barrels through the house, opened the door to the garage and out into the world, all in about 2 sec. That's when I realized the garage door was up.
Why r u letting this happen ? You r just prompting bad behavior. Good luck. I have had 4 wiemys and you better keep them on a tight Leah or they will take over. Best. Dogs ever 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This is why dogs used to live outside and sleep in their doghouse in the yard. And, most importantly, did their business near that same spot in the backyard that you could cover frequently with ashes. Now they train you while they sleep in your bed and boop your hand continually for scratches as you remote work from home to pay the vet bill and pick up their potent "leavings" on 3 walks a day.
I took my weim puppy to a private trainer . She was only 6 months old and already much too smart.The trainer said it was most important that the owner be smarter than the puppy. She was very intelligent - within a week she figured out how to open the door to her crate. She would open the fridge and freezer too. Of course - she never closed anything when she was done.
My Weim Opens the freezer and fridge door to that exact fridge. We had to put child locks on all cupboards and deep freezers as well, much cheaper than a trip to the vet. She is a little angel who can do no wrong through my eyes. Would not change a thing.
Ours turned the stovetop burner on Trying to get a pan with bacon that Was accidentally left on the stove. We were out at the time but my Oldest daughter came home just In time to remove the smoking Mass from the burner before It went up in flames.
This is exactly what my aunts first english pointer would do. When they came home from work they saw the dog standing on the table looking out the kitchen window lol
@@animallover2476 We met a German lady while walking one of our Weims on Sanibel Island. She stopped to appreciate/greet our dog and said, "Vee know you. Vee call you the stubborn hound."
@@benwaballs8800 of course the band wagon!! People don't realize this dog is almost human! My sister has two. They are so special but don't get one if you don't try to train them !!
Think of it as a dog mike Tyson and a dog Neil degrass Tyson Then you’ll know what you’re dealing with and never get one because when they leave your life it will never be the same. Yes you can say that about any dog. But a wiemerama isn’t just any dog they are partially human
@@roncarpenter7240i have a Weimaraner puppy and he stopped counter surfing, jumping on me, biting and all that stuff. He still suffers separation anxiety but things GOT Better. I don't think they're too stubborn, they're only too cute and so it's how we treat them, we baby them and love bomb them, we let them on the bed and do almost what they please. Mine Is free to chew his stuff, play, i know he needs exercise and to be intelectually stimulateted but he doesn't get away with everything. I don't give him almost treats to make him do things or to stop him from doing things, but i give him praises and pats. It's not totally their nature, they're incredibly cute, you can lose your self in their eyes, when they're sad they have that destroyed face that no other dog and nobody has and they make you feel very guilty, so we spoil them and this Is the result.
I don't think it's a matter of being ashamed, the fact Is that this dog has no rules, no boundaries and no limitations. If he's a counter surfer like that he must be for sure also a people jumper, not ok especially for children and elders. He's cute but you cannot Hide chocolate bars and brownie cookies from this guy/girl Who has access to litterally anything. Not ok.

I think it's funny. That's the nature of a Weimaraner and if you don't like it then you should opt for a lazy lap dog.
