You forgot to mention that Mario had such little representation in melee because doctor Mario is pretty much the same character but better, so anyone interested in Mario would rather play doc
Dr Mario isn't that much better. The only reason hes higher is strength. Dr's combo game and recovery are worse due to the fact that his uptilt sends at the world's worst angle and him being too slow to get too much off an up air. His main strengths are his Fair sweetspot being a kill move and general lybdealing more damage. A huge nerf to his recovery was Up-B Walljump as he can't do this and instead has the very situational Up-B cancel. Personally I think out of the bros it goes Luigi, Mario and then Dr Mario. I still don't understand why Dr is higher than Luigi a character who has had much better placings recently
@@illford my man, imma say it right now I don't know where you get your info from, his up tilt is still a very decent combo tool as while yes the early hit sends at a shitty angle you're actually never going to start a combo with uptilt anyways in melee, and the late hit still sends up like you would want it to. Next about up air, I have no idea where you read that it was a worse combo tool because of doctor mario's speed because that is straight up false, they have the exact same ground speed and doc even has a higher air speed. And doc's up air only does 1 less % which technically makes it a better combo tool if anything. as for recovery you want to revover high with mario and doc anyways to cover your descent with fireballs/pills, so it's not that relevant. In *almost* every regard doc is better and also easier to play, his fair being a kill move is also a godsend in floatie matchups as mario struggles wayyy more to find a kill. And to top it off, Luigi is in fact higher on the most recent tier list that came out last year so... yeah. Saying mario is better than doc tho isn't a hot take it's just wrong. And my original point still stands, doc deosn't even need to be that much better than mario, the simple fact that he is better AND easier makes it so very few people will pick mario as they're signing in for a harder character that doesn't even have the benefit of having more potential. It's just like lucina and marth in ultimate edit : forgot to mention pills are so much better than fireballs they alone would make doc better
@@lightbrand_ I personally don't use Dr. Mario, but I've actually been playing as BOTH Luigi and Mario in Melee for a pretty long time now. I just feel that if you want to play as someone who's clearly stronger than Mario is, then you can just play as Luigi instead of playing as Dr. Mario. LOL Plus, I find that even Luigi has a much better Down aerial move than Dr. Mario has as well. LOL Heck. Even Mario himself has a much better recovery than his own clone Dr. Mario has as well. So, that's why I think that Mario is better than Dr. Mario is in Melee, but Luigi is still a better character than both Mario and Dr. Mario are. Even though Mario is still the weakest out of the three (strength wise). LOL I personally find that it's even easier for me to actually play as Mario over Dr. Mario since Mario clearly moves somewhat faster as well.

I honestly think that Mario would have been a much better character in both "Melee" and "Brawl", if he basically kept his "Smash 64" KO Power and Recovery. I would still keep his "Melee" Forward Smash from "Brawl" all the way up to "Ultimate" though. LOL I also would definitely buff up his Back throw, Up and Down Smashes back to his "Smash 64" levels as well. I know that Mario is pretty good in both "Smash 4" and "Ultimate", but I still think that some of his moves are a bit too weak, in my opinion.
At around the 21:24 mark, I think you accidentally swapped the 1.1.6 and 1.1.7 tier lists for _Super Smash Bros. for Wii U_ around when you were displaying them onscreen.

As a smash player, Mario can be a little difficult if you’re not skilled. With only having his up B as an option, he’s easy to knock off stage

just a suggestion, the audio in the ultimate section is mixed weird, the music is louder than the narration
Man it was so cool how in brawl if you used fludd then got hit then you got to keep fludd on your back. I wish that was still in ultimate
