Burnsall is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the River Wharfe in Wharfedale, and is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village is approximately 2 miles (3 km) south-east from Grassington. It has a parish church, a chapel, two hotels with restaurants, a public house, and a primary school. The school, Grade II listed, is in the original 1602 grammar school building, a legacy of William Craven of nearby Appletreewick. There is a five-arched bridge over which the Dalesway passes. A path along the river from Burnsall to Hebden, 1 mile (2 km) to the north-west, dates to Viking times. The historic parish of Burnsall occupied a large part of upper Wharfedale. It included the townships of Appletreewick, Bordley, Conistone with Kilnsey, Cracoe, Hartlington, Hetton, Rylstone and Thorpe, all of which became separate civil parishes in 1866. The parish was in Staincliffe Wapentake and in the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974, when it was transferred to North Yorkshire. The 2001 Census gave Burnsall parish a population of 112, decreasing to 110 at the 2011 census. The ecclesiastical parish of Burnsall is in the Diocese of Leeds. The parish church of St Wilfrid's, a Grade I listed building, is almost entirely Perpendicular. It contains an 11th-century font carved with bird and beasts, twelve Anglo-Saxon sculpture fragments and a 14th-century alabaster panel depicting the Adoration of the Magi. The church-yard is entered from the main road by a lychgate.

Such a idyllic picture book Yorkshire village. I expected to see a horse and cart
trotting past. Village streets made for them, not cars.
Seems very quiet around the houses ( probably avoiding the tourists) . 😊
Perhaps people commute for work . Great place to live and enjoy that

Thanks Maxine..yes, I would love to live there..its the gateway to the Yorkshire Dale's too..village after village in stunning countryside..I'm soon to do another walk from there, but into Grassington on the river 🥾
this is a continuation of the previous river, deserves to be familiar to see, the river is beautiful, the water is clean, I really like the atmosphere so peaceful and cool very worth a visit, always visit the tomb it looks like the largest in the yorkshire daless area, a classic stone house similar to your house, wait i see the white car it seems i recognize it 😄
Yes, good spot! The traditional stone cottages! I will do more filming along that river.. I'm going to walk up to Grassington soon, and capture the autumn colours!🥾📽

Disappointing, the camera lens gives a curved picture. Sometimes very distorted, is also at times not clear. Not the best lens compared to the ones you use in Israel. The area is magnificent, with a beautiful village and river.

Hi Norman, yes, it's one of the many beautiful villages I will be filming for this channel.. my camera is a Gopro, and it seems to be the fish eye, which is causing the curves, so I am trying to amend this look. Also, I'm having issues with condensation in the camera, but I'm actually about to set off to film now, and see if an idea helps solve that, where I have removed the battery, and inserted a moisture absorber where the battery goes. I am a different relaxing Walker.. I'm from the UK.. hope you enjoy my future walks.. Thanks again 🥾
