Does Uber Eats Acceptance Rate TRULY Effect Our Offers?

  • Rather you want to call it the Uber Eats acceptance rate or the Uber Eats confirmation rate either way we are stick with it as gig workers in this gig economy if you are a Uber Eats driver. The question is however, does Uber Eats acceptance rate truly affect our orders? The Uber Eats confirmation screen is another screen to make us feel a bit more guilty if we don't accept an offer but does it impact our pay? I am a Uber Eats driver in Canada and I ask myself if it truly matters because I don't see a difference considering my market is very over crowded and quiet right about now.

Now im sitting at 17% I refuse to take there trash orders just to have a high acceptance rate.. I got in this to make money not to get a high acceptance rate.. Money is what pays my bills not acceptance rates!!

    Uber states that your driver acceptance doesn’t impact your ability to get orders or qualify for promotions but I noticed it does. Uber stops sending me offers. I’m not sure if others have the same experience.

      I find with UE I don't face that but on Skip or DD I am seeing that. Based on the comments I am seeing now on this video, many believe it doesn't actually impact the out put of orders.

    Great video. Okay I'm at 70% with UE and what I am definitely noticing is that I am getting more offers. Based on standing next to 5 other UE's that don't go under $10 (or $8 lol). That said, I don't know if I am doing better or worse cause it's all so dead right now. Keep up the good work !

    Great video, and perfect timing. I just started delivering for UE's a little over a month ago, and at the beginning, I was accepting every offer, because I was thinking 'the UE algorithm must recognize and reward users for being perfect accepters, or almost so'. But then a few weeks in, I joined a forum for delivery drivers and posted this same question to them. The response was a resounding NO. One user said 'the same guy down the street from you with a 10% rating, is getting the same offers you are'. In the last two weeks, I've went from 98% down to 79%, and I have not seen my earnings change one bit. I think it's all for show, and it's the app trying to guilt trip you into accepting more. With gas prices as high as they are, I don't think a trip should ever be less than $1 per mile (out and back), and being penalized for that would be a reason for a lot of users to quit the app.. Maybe one day they might rethink this, but for now, I don't think it matters. Keep up the good vids!

      With Uber Eats, no it doesn't matter. They don't pay us drivers the same respect as lets say DoorDash or Skip the dishes if we maintain a high rating (Can't speak for GrubHub since I am in Canada) I am currently under 10% with them and still getting decent orders. They have no incentive for us, so I won't accept majority of heir orders.

    My UE confirmation rate is 23%. Skip the dishes 10%. Doordash 17%. I agree with you that it doesn't matter what your acceptance or confirmation rate is with UE, you will receive orders (there won't be any slow down). You just got to accept the offers that are profitable to you. These 3$ offers won't do you any good. Even if you accept these 3$ offers, the max you can do is 4 offers/her. So do you really want to make 12$/hr minus gas and other expenses.

    • @DashWithAshinCanada
      @DashWithAshinCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed with you 100%. I only talked about 3$ orders once before in the past in a video because that was prior to UE announcing here about tip transparency. Other than minimum 6$ orders , it's not a good idea to go any lower.

      not sure how long or how many runs you did with UE's ,but after over 1500 you learn a few other things... like when you take a crappy $4 offer you also get a great add on offer a minute or 2 after...also get offers that are good as i am dropping last one off... all that matters is at the end of your shift you have good hourly income and the lowest miles on your car imo... certain markets have a lot more earning potential then others...

  • @surfndragon
    @surfndragon ปีที่แล้ว

    What I have found with UE, is that you will try to get your rating up, only to have them dump a lot of junk orders like $4 for 10-13 miles, which you will deny, because in a high traffic area like I live in, that will take you about 40 mins for $4. then your rating goes down. I also have seen it not move after I took every order all day, and it has stayed the same. I think the algos are all messed up. Door Dash, it matters for priority orders, but hard to do when they give junk orders, or their app freezes. The other day, my DD app froze, would not let me end the dash, and I had 5 orders go through unclaimed as it was freezing. I was on the phone with support and asked them about the 5 orders and to take them off since the app was having issues and they said they could not do it.

    • @DashWithAshinCanada
      @DashWithAshinCanada  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, we get dumped with so much crap after we accepted the good stuff. They don't seem to care about us or what we do, get 80% or 8% they will still downgrade us sadly. The good part is I don't find it matters. I have around 10% rate right now and I am making more money than I have in a while.

    So with me, my Skip AR is at 100%. Your friend is lucky to have his lowest pay at $8/delivery. Mine is only $6/delivery. Still way better than Uber. And talking about Uber, my AR right now is at 37%. I really don't think it matters though. I've had as high as an 82% AR, but was still receiving the same type low offers. With Dash, my AR is at 65%, but I've only made 18 deliveries. So I still need to make 82 more deliveries before I can see what my customer rating is.

    I think there is a difference. I think it's less about the number it shows and more about your current trends, dynamic acceptance rate that is. The more I say yes the more great offers I get. I try not to say no more than 2 out of 3 offers. My current rate is 45 and that's up from 18 two weeks ago and I'm definitely getting all kinds of offers, many great ones. • @gigworkmama
    @gigworkmama ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm at 14% with UE, 19% with DD and about 40% with Skip. With Skip, the top-up is above 80% (he doesn't need to accept ALL). It's great when it happens but what I've realized is that those are usually the orders where customers tip like 3$ or less because the base pay is 4.45$. So really any tip above 3.55$ won't matter with the top-up.

    • @DashWithAshinCanada
      @DashWithAshinCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      See there's always a catch , so if that's the case what's the big incentive of the top up ? You could still get a low tip making the offer "not so great"

    • @gigworkmama
      @gigworkmama ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DashWithAshinCanada maybe I explained it wrong. Ok so if you're above 80%, you get a no tip order. Comes in at 4.45$. Skip will top it up and you'll get 8$ for it. A customer that tips 2$ will come in at 6.45$. Skip will make the offer be 8$. So it's worth it for those low paying offers. But I wouldn't accept horrible offers to get it up to 80%. However, if I'm above 80%, I'm happy to enjoy the extra bump... Until I get an offer where the 8$ still doesn't make sense (for example if the customer is far away). Yes Skip pays more when the km's are high but not enough to compensate the distance. So that top up wouldn't help.

    Actually with UE i find the AR doesnt matter much but the cancellation rate does because when i had a 15% cancellation rate at one time i would be on UE for 3 hours on dinner rush and i was lucky to even see 4 trips sent to me. My UE is at 46% but i see too many $3-5 trips that i laugh at it and think come on u think i would do 9 kms for $3.50. I get frustrated too because this guy i know hes done 13k trips and gets the big price orders all the time compared to my 1300 trips and his AR is at 15%. As for Skip i try to keep 100% to get the minimum and i usually do at minimum $70-80 on a 4 hour shift and for DD my AR is at 78% and with that high rating i get high price trips more often and can do $25-30 per hour if its busy, i never accept anything lower then $6 with DD

      It "says" you have priority for higher paying orders. Could be true, but also, if nobody accepted the crap offers, then DD would need to raise those orders, and then everyone would get higher paying offers.
      If they know Im most likely going to reject a low offer, and you are more likely to accept a low offer, then is it better for them to give you the high paying offer and then watch me reject it? Maybe it would be smarter for the algorythm to send me, the person with low acceptance rate, the higher offer because they know Ill accept it, and give you the low paying offer because you will also accept it.
      After all you would never know they did that.

This week I took 15 Uber deliveries on the Monday, and Tuesday to today so far I’ve only accepted 4 so I have no idea how Uber works. Tuesday in 7 hours I only received one crappy Uber order. Ha

    Put it to you this way: if you were the owner of the co and wanted to increase profit margins you wouldnt particularly cater to the end users you’d figure out how to make more off of each end user but of course while maintaining good customer service. They would make more by rewarding those who accept more orders because on the orders that do not make us much money as the rest it makes UE more so it only makes them happy.
    It’s the only viable option I could think of. The system rewards those who accept the most, then the second trigger is who ever is closer in order to combat speed of order delivery complications.

Regardless, Uber's benefits suck and making good tips is the most rewarding aspect. I sit around 30% working the weekend dinner rushes in northwest Houston. The problem with Houston is that you REALLY have to match the dollar by the mile, otherwise you can easily spend too much money on gas. I had my doordash account since 2020. It was good in my area so I didnt have to decline that many orders. So I did have top dasher. The only good thing is that you can sign on anytime without having to schedule. Lately it hasnt been that good so I lost the top dasher. Hard to tell if it matters what orders you get. I multi app and do uber eats and uber passenger at the same time. I think acceptance rate does not matter with uber and matters more with DD. Uber does have that uber platinum if your acceptance is like 85 percent. But I dont think its worth it to take all of the trash to maintain that. I do not accept any trash and will reject as many orders as I have to in order to avoid taking trash. The drivers that take everything are falling for their scam. You will lose a lot of money and waste a lot of gas

    • @DashWithAshinCanada

      So the reason you could be out of Top Dasher is because we are all experiencing a low in orders right now (Based on my recent video from today, see the comments to know what I mean) So if DD pushes you bad orders and you get less volume of orders, there's no chance to regain as quick. However if the flow was still as it was for volume of orders, you'd have a better chance at accepting a good order fast because of the volume. Are you in the US? Uber here doesn't require us to have 85 percentage rate to get that, it's only we have to complete a certain amount of orders in a certain amount of time but it's not based on our acceptance rate so that caught my attention.

    • @briankerschke5306

      @@DashWithAshinCanada . No I don't. Most of them on average are about 2 to 4km. But I do occasionally get some over 5 km, but I decline most of those. From what I learnt and observed, is the app calculates your arrival and delivery times according to varrious things including the type of vehicle your driving. It's not good for you or the customer if you have to drive 10km on a bicycle. Uber knows this. Also there are a lot of drivers logging on as bicycle but actually using cars to avoid requirements and to get shorter deliveries. I know this as fact because Ive had customers tell me I was the first person to actually show up on a bicycle when their app said their driver is on a bicycle. Ive also heard that uber monitors your speed and you will get flagged if your are driving faster than 40km an hour. I prefer using an ebike for many reasons if the weather allows it. OR
      Do you think they will give the 2 good offers to the high AR drivers and expect to get rejected by the low AR drivers?

    I’m a little new to this so pardon my ignorance, but where do you find out what your acceptance rate is? All I know is mine is below the area average lol. I’m in this to make money as well and I’m not gonna take their shit 3 and 4 dollar trips.
