My Dolls House Diary Tutorial #11 - 1/12th Scale Kitchen Island

In the final furniture tutorial for the kitchen, I show you how to make this kitchen island. Although this is a longer project, the piece is made in two parts and is a fairly easy build.

74 x 55mm (2 29/32 x 2 11/64 inches) - Cut 2 - TOP / BOTTOM
55 x 12mm (2 11/64 x 15/32 inches) - Cut 1 - DRAWER DIVIDE (Cut with the grain in the direction of the shortest edge).

I advise cutting the pieces needed for the drawers after construction of the main unit, which will ensure a more accurate fit.

For this project, you will need:
Craft wood such as Basswood or Obeche
Craft knife
Steel rule
Pencil
Eraser
Wood glue
Sandpaper (fine and medium grades)
Mitre block & saw or hand-held guillotine for cutting strip wood
Cocktail sticks
Emulsion paint
Wood dye or varnish
Mini clamps
Masking tape
6 x castors
