I was putting fly wheel in a semi truck years ago and a little girl had came into shop with her dad. Girl told me once I sat up that I was fat. Told her as you get older you learn so much that your brain can't store all the information. Therefore you got to store it around your waist. I can still hear her dad's laughter from years ago. Enjoyed the video as usual. FWIW. The 8010-8020 where the largest tractors Deere offered during the 5010 era. I've heard that the 8020's were all just rebuilt 8010's but can't verify that. Seems all the 8010's were problematic. Only 99 of the 8010-8020's were sold.
mrih1586 100 8010’s were made but only 99 got sent back for the recall. So now there are 99 8020’s and 1 8010. It is unknown where they all are, but the only 8010 around is in a collection.
So when you take out the liners, you put the punch on the bottom edge of the liner? You can put that much force on one side of the liner and it will pop straight up or is there something else I’m not seeing?
I appreciate your videos. I'm a farmer from ky, I have a 3130JD tractor that I'm rebuilding, 6 cylinder tractor. I see too many people online selling jd tractor aftermarket engine rebuild kits and afraid of purchasing a kit that is worth nothing and end up redoing it again. Where do you get your overhaul engine rebuild kits? My tractor still runs, but smoking slot. Thanks

I've heard either bead blasting or sand blasting strengthens the rods or anything castiron just curious if you have heard that to?

Is JD the only manufacturer that paints the inside of their blocks like that?

WR what is the difference between a 5010 and 5020? I used to run a 5020 for a farmer in MB many moons ago.

If your liner protrusion is more than .004 can you stick liner in a lathe an faceoff top of liner to get it in specs?
amos 390 Too much protrusion and you cut the counter bore , not enough protrusion you shim the liners
I've had really good luck using diesel to free up a stuck motor

just seems like a worldwide problem, most farmers I know of don't service their machinery. oil was new when the tractor was new.

Chicken 🐔 farmers are the worst about maintaining their equipment. Duct tape, bailing wire, and stop leak is their idea of preventative maintenance.
