I have lost count of how many 4010 and 4020’s that I rebuilt in the late 60’s and early 70’s.. I worked for a John Deere dealership in the UK and loved working on the Deere’s. Lovely tractors. Watching this video has brought back some great memories.

@@bradjenkins932 I guess all marques have their problems. I also worked on Massey Ferguson’s, New Holland, Ford, International Harvester and unfortunately the Russian and Polish Zetor and Ursus. These two were built to last as you can imagine but boy were they unreliable. .

Should have bought an 806 or 856 and the engines would have run 10,000 or 15,000 hours!

“Whoops” - what a great comeback…. lol. “I just lifted a tractor” - very impressive lifting technique. Ethan is a great mechanic, he could make a good living as one. But I’m glad he’s staying on the farm because America needs farmers! This video was edited perfectly, kudos to the camera crew….

I've been doing that type of work around my county for a 35 years and couple observations when you're doing this kind of work it seems like 75% of it is cleaning. The other other notable thing is when you first started up you realize you did a lot of things are right that are not seen by most, which means there's a lot of things that can be wrong. Thumbs up.

Master mechanics at work...good job guys and you too Rhonda...you managed to coax a few words out of em...my experiences around a shortline rr locomotive shop (as here...merely observing)were that when heavy intensive work was ongoing...very little was said....except on occasion when clanging of metal unexpectedly occurred...an expletive or two...and then sometimes a "redo" of long hours of work would be redone...all part of the fun!

Dad has done a great job in teaching the boys! It must make you both proud! There all something to be proud of and you as parents ❤ have taken the time and the Love and the Grace of God have created this wonderful family 👪 I do believe there's something extra special about all farmers. They very dedicated and God fearing people 🙏 I don't know what we would do without You! There are so many things that you have to deal with on a daily basis. I personally appreciate everything you go through to get your products to us, we don't thank you and appreciate you enough!!! So once again thank you and thank all farmers. Im a machinist and I have few recommendations. I hope you replaced the rod that had the spun the bearing and also you should have all the rods resized at a machine shop. They would grind off a little off the rod and cap where the cap fits on the rod and then open the bore to the proper size. This would help to keep the bearings from spinning again. They would also install a new bushing in the small end and open it up to proper size.

Quick tip.... Take you 2 bolts the same size as the bell housing bolts, cut the heads off of them and thread them into the block. Then when you are trying to line up the block with the bell housing it will slide on with ease.....

I find these jobs rewarding. One thing I did with the head gasket on my 4020 was put a high heat, high pressure sealent around the oil port on the back right corner because they are notorious for leaking oil.

Don’t put lube on the back side of the bearings. You want the back side clean and dry. Safety glasses when cleaning. That’s a mom thing you need to remind him.😉

Nice job on this one guys! Those 4010s can be little bit of a bear to work on. Between all those lines that run across the top of the engine splitting the tractor is kind of a pain. Then there’s the 24 V system… It starts on 24 V but everything else is 12 so that can be a little tricky. Then it has that synchro range transmission where the linkage gets a little worn out and it’s hard to shift.. then there’s the steering when it gets air in it and the front wheels don’t line up with the steering motor and you have to bleed it out lol. They are really cool tractors though. Nice job men
