So great to hear other experiences! I’m in Alabama and the program is different here. It is only about 10ish months and you have to assist for 2 years before you can apply! I’m waiting for my 2 years to be up!!
Omg so cool! I start my hygiene program in August and am nervous but excited! I have been an ortho assistant for the last 4 years and love it but I’m so ready to be a hygienist now ☺️ love that you mentioned how you loved Ortho 😁
im an ortho assistant and i travel but for the same orthodontist. between his 2 practices. definitely one of the funnest jobs i will ever have. its crazy when you love what you do. going to be a dental hygienist someday so thank you so much for posting about your life & journey!!
I’m still trying to understand how can you work if the dental hygiene school is full time, I was told that it’s 5 days a week from 9 am-5pm. Only if you work night shifts, I don’t see any other options…
Hey I'm starting college this fall as a freshman and I'm going to get my prerequisites done for the next two years and plan on applying to hygiene schools after that. What were the prerequisites that you took before hygiene school because I'm starting to schedule classes and I want to get the best chance at getting into one of the schools I apply to.
Great question! So I just did the courses that the dental hygiene advisor told me to take. This was the best way to be proactive and not take classes I didn’t need!:)
Did u do dental assistant schooling first like how does that work cause i was thinking about doing that before i go full in on becoming a dental hygienist
I was in hygiene school at Saint Petersburg College. I did fail out due to the program being poorly run , the pandemic, and had extremely overly caddy conceited professors.
Your videos are really helpful thank you for posting our questions. I’m starting dental hygiene program in two months, any advice in what to study during this time?
Hello! New sub. Just found your channel. Are you getting your bachelors in dh or something else? Do you know if you can teach with a bachelors that is not dh (business) along with having your dh associates? Will you get your masters as well? Sorry for so many questions. You just seem super helpful!🌸
You are the only person posting about dental hygiene that makes me feel confident I can get through it.
