God rest his soul, but if Marty wouldn't have went to prevent defense in that last "drive" by Elway in the 86 title game, Browns would've went to the Super Bowl. 100%. Elway had done nothing the entire game. I know it's sour grapes but it still hurts, and I know it still hurts Bernie.

If I was Kevin Stefanski....and I do mean this with all my heart - I would have Bernie on my staff as Executive Offensive Strategist. His mind for the game is beyond exceptional and he will talk straight. He would be the Consigliere to the Offensive staff and would direct them from behind the curtains. It's funny how the conversation has morphed from the ineptitude of Stefanski as a head coach because of his play calling, time management, his having the most penalized team in the NFL, his decision to play an injured QB (Mayfield), and his and complete inability to make in game adjustments, to whether he is making a mistake by starting Watson. Only in Cleveland.

Cousins, Watson, and Mayfield had their worst passing seasons under Stefanski. He's nothing without a running game.

I think Stefanski letting Watson fail to justify replacing him next year.If,you sit Watson the back lash will be fix the offensive line.The offensive line is not the only issue it's Watson , Stefanski,and coaching.They let Baker Mayfield fail playing hurt on purpose because they thought he was a hot head and wasn't the future at that point.Just my opinion.
Bernie got such a raw deal in Cleveland but I'm glad he won a superbowl it may have been with Dallas but he deserved it

The reason why they’re doing this is because Stefanski has always believed he could reinvent the wheel and win the AFC North a different way. He wants a prolific offense that will prove he’s an offensive guru from Penn. The man’s ego is much larger than you give it credit for.
In my opinion most plays should have a RB or even a FB to help blocking especially when your line is suspect.

Flaco also was a interception machine. Yes he was a qb that got us in. But but 2 pick sixes in the playoff game in Houston certainly didn't help. Even Flaco would have a very hard time with these slow poke Recviers and poor oline. And the 5 wide with no running back come on . Any defense is going to Come at you with that . Especially when you have the slowest recivers in the league. And the oline that can't block and pick up blitz and a penalty machine. Plus the head coach that dosnt want to coach the game he just wants to call plays. BK sees it
The Eagles have watched film on how Watson is being sacked and they're licking their chops. You can bet they've spent the whole week on the pass rush. Play a smash mouth 3 right end running game and throw screens to keep the defense honest. Must run the ball to stop the bleeding. Then Watson can get a little time to hit some WR. But absolutely have to establish the run.

I wish Bernie could still play. Browns haven't had a QB who wanted to play in Cleveland like Kosar did. Watson is an absolute disgrace when compared to Kosar.

Kosar actually purposely gamed the NFL draft so he could be drafted by Cleveland as the first pick in the Supplemental draft. Cleveland held the #1 pick in the Supplemental draft that year. If Art Modell wasn’t a bad owner not moved the franchise, Bill Bilechik and Bernie Kosar will win SB for the city of Cleveland in the 90’s. We love Kosar forever and he will be remembered as the greatest legend qb for the Browns .

I’ve watched a lot of Bernie over the years. This episode was the best I’ve seen. Bernie really laid it out and boy, he’s smart.
The offensive line is probably the biggest problem but who knows for sure,I think the fairest way to treat Watson is to bench him put Winston in and see what happens.If he doesn’t play well it doesn’t tell us much he’s not supposed to be as good as Watson but if he does it tells us a lot it’s Watson.

Watson is up against and understands the challenges facing the offense, which is multilayered. Just listen to him, he is dropping 35 years of personal experience.
Maybe he needs somebody on the sidelines to tell him what to do and what he needs to know like they were talking about what they did in Houston with him. After all it doesn't take a rocket scientist to sexually assault women. If you have the tools but not enough intelligence to know how to use the tools you need help to get it done.

The real issue is simply this... We didn't address losing our Best player... #24 Nick Chubb. We were supposed to get a top tier running back first and foremost. We beat teams having a killer run game. Opens the whole playbook when you don't just rely on the pass. Now we just don't have good running backs.. They are just another guys... It's sad that all is time Deshaun and Nick barely played together. That was the reality that had us, as a real contender...

Has there ever been any discussion of the quality of practices during the week? Are they rigorous enough? Are they at game speed?
Why did Flacco plug in and immediately look amazing? If it isn't Watson, why does Flacco make it work? Not only him, what about Brissett? He looked solid at least.

So is Bernie saying the new system is the thing causing the linemen to be confused? Love Calahan but these are professional linemen. You cant convince me they forgot everything he taught them. So the issue must be the new offense which may have different blocking rules. That is where Calahan would be so useful now. Short term seems they need to go back to what they were doing the last couple years and drop the Dorsey spread and run what they did last year. Yes seems it was stupid to get rid of last year's offense. That decision seems to be the catalyst of all this.

Watson had SIXTEEN plays last week with zero pressure where he abandoned a clean pocket or threw into double coverage with clearly open receivers past the sticks, or throws where he missed by a mile

I would love to, but if you add his recent health problems on top of his age, he unfortunately can't go out there and throw a football in official NFL action at his current state. I really wish he could, though.

There's about 5 teams with worst lines and they're QBs don't look this bad. Look, this football you forget that in 2016 the Chicago Bears brought in head coach Matt Nagy to upgrade the offensive, that year starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky went to the pro-bowl. The next year they had a string of injuries and it all fell apart. That's football, if you have any doubt look at the Eagles they where a Super Bowl team and now two years latter at times they look very average.

I said that it makes no sense for Bernie to praise DePodesta when he is the guy who arrived n 2016 to run the show for the Browns and the Browns have had one of if not thee worst record in the league during his time running the show. I’m not talking about one year they were good and the next year bad. He has been failing for 8 years except for one year with Baker and last year when they got extremely lucky when old Joe Flacco saved them. Also the only reason the Browns had a good record last year is because they were playing a schedule ranked 26th in the league and one that was miraculously saved by Flacco who had been sitting on the sofa all year .
DePodesta also helped manage the deal for Watson which is the worst deal in history and one which will hurt this franchise for many years to come. You don’t admire or respect a guy who has ruined your team.

Then Jimmy Haslem decided to draft Johnny Manziel that when Kyle Shanahan quit on the spot. Did you know that at one point Mike McDaniel taught your receiver to be totally unstoppable and Jimmy Haslem threw it all away. Why because he thinks he knows more than NFL executives.
