Did u use any permatex or gasket sealer on any of the gaskets on the water pump/ fuel pump/ air compressor? And did u use loctite on the air compressor bolts also?
My water pump tensioner BOLT broke, right at the head of the bolt. Do you know about where I can even find something like that bud? Can’t wait for the new video
You can get the tensioner at agkits.com. Price is not bad. Now, if your asking about the bolt itself, I'm not sure if you can find it by itself. Might be a part you would have to custom make.
How do you release the tension on the idler pulley on the water pump? The long adjusting bolt moves freely- do I loosen the nut on the back of the pulley? Can’t get the belts off!
Hi I bought a new kit for my air compressor n installed my pump back on , now truck doesn't start as if it has hard start bt it was starting easily before removing the pump also leaking coolant from air outlet pipe what might be de problem n don't know what to do from there pls assist
@halahalamorake it sounds like the rebuilt was not done correctly. I would take it off and purchase a rebuilt one. Now remember the compressor has a timing point when installing it back on your engine.
I clean the surface of the parts im going to work on. I dont know if you saw a can of brake clear on rear of cab step. I will be washing the engine when im finished with the clutch etc.
If your pulley is a bit hard to spin, you might get away with adding grease and spin it till it spins freely. If the pulley wobbles, or gets stuck at times, replace it. I've seen them for about $45 on ebay.
Eduardo Morales I ended up just getting a whole new water pump. The thing is the new water pump doesn’t spin freely. Should I be concerned before I install it?

I have a question, the big cam engines have fan clutch sistem , and if they do could you please send me a pic of the Air hose plug I’m trying to bring it back to live an old fld with the same engine but can’t find that hose plug , please an thanks my friend!!!!
Check the front of the fan hub. I'm pretty sure you'll have cooling fins. If you do, your going to have a system like older cars do. No wires or hose will go to it. It would be a mechanical fan that engages from the temperature of your engine.
the metal pipe is not really meant to be removed that often so i just brazed mine in because i couldnt get the seal to work properly anyway. Most guys i know just go ahead and braze them together.

You could save fuel by installing air clutch for fan.
I love these Cabover. I have 3. Also, plastic fan might weigh less

I did not. And have no issues on leaks. Bolts I used pressure washers

Great video but how do you go about purging the entire cooling system?
You can fill it and leave cap off. Run for 15 - 20 minutes and you should be good. Add antifreeze when needed

Loosen up the nut on the back. Then tighten the bolt to add tension. Bolt should not be loose
Did u use the green or red antifreeze?
Used the green but switched to red

@markopolo286 it is not. Run clean water until u don't have anymore green and then estimate how much to pour in on red

Have you rebuilt an air compressor before? Sounding like you're getting air into your engine from the compressor making it hard to spin easily.

Im about to change my air compressor.Where is the pin located that you said it needs to be in time?
There is a timing line on the shaft/gear of the compressor.

Hope I'll get it going soon again. The fan is mechanical. It has front fins to determin the heat.
