I'm taking it home today. I found a leftover 22 model with abs. Just like this one that you have. Same color ant. I'm spending $4,600. After all the fees and taxes I couldn't pass up the deal. I think I'm going to do your bags also
Is the bike suitable for touring in the mountains? Let's say to a distance of 500 km? I think tank capacity is an issue. This bike is launching in my country India next year so I might consider buying one .
any guidance on the Tusk d-Flex installation? difficult attaching to bar ends? how did you cut existing grip? thanks for any helpful comments you can offer.
I used some nice nylon string...But I just deleted that hole pad because it was not so comfy..I took the staples out of the Seat Concepts seat and installed a 3/4in jell pad cut to shape. Good thing I didn't trim the cover to tight when I put it together. It's so much better now! I put the jell pad over the top of the foam and it worked out good, stays put and feels great!
Looking good! You've got a nice, sensible set up there. I'd think that's enough storage space for an overnight camping trip and certainly enough for any day trip. Changing the oil soon like that is seen by some to be wasteful but I say oil is cheaper than engines, I changed mine after 100 miles and again at 600. You'll want to check your valves at 600 and every 7600 after that. I picked out two feeler gauges, cut them off the set and bent them at about a 30 degree angle to fit in there easily.
That's exactly what I was thinking for the set up. I can always strap more to it if I need to. As for the oil changes, I just want to make sure all the break in metal is out of there. Thanks for your advise and thanks for checking it out!
im looking to get one of these or the SM version for commuting. im 5'10" and about 175ish pounds, the road id be driving on is about 55-60mph max. id be driving about 30 miles a day would i be better of getting the 300 or would this be plenty enough for me?
You should have spent a few dollars more and bought the 2022 klr adventure.....Already set up...much better on the highway....Bigger tank..more comfy for the long haul....built to circumnavigate the globe...This my eighth new one ..I've owned one pretty much since their inception in the late 80s...
Nice...love your bike.
Thanks!
Zabardust shearing good work..

@@MrSpubby One of these days I'll get one and we'll go riding! A wise man once told me "he who has the most toys wins"...
@@Salzano14 That would be cool! I don't need to win, but I sure would like to place..............
The bike is looking good.

Do you need side racks for those bags? I'm picking up the 2023 KLX 230 tomorrow

I think it would be much better than a heavy bike just because it would be easier to man handle. Fuel would be the only issue in my view.
What rear rack did you use ?
KLX 230 Enduro Series Rear Luggage Rack ( Amazon )
Ooo I want one of these
Are those the stock tires?
yes

They were easy to install, cut the ends of the grips with a razer knife. just go easy and you'll be fine
I want to know how you tied the seat cover down. I noticed the plastic clips are deleted.

I got a 230 and I can hit 74 consistently which is the limiter. 230 would be enough power but nothing wrong with going bigger
How has the ABS worked out? Are you glad you got it or no?
Yes
