Hey Britt. I'm an addict in recovery and also have a few mental health issues and a cocktail of crazy is the actual perfect description of the life I've led! 🤣 Things are much better now but they were utter chaos for long periods of time when I was in active use and when I look back on it all cocktail of crazy is spot on. Also sounds like a good name for a band. I wasn't offended by it at all. Most people with mental health issues are totally fine with jokes about it, we're the first ones to make those jokes. You're right though, some people will be upset, there's always a few of "those" people 🙄😅

I always wondered about the history of this story. I think Butch did it all himself. He was probably angry and resentful towards his parents and most likely his siblings because he was treated differently. All the built up anger finally was let loose and he went on a shooting rage while on drugs.
Also, I love that you leave in all the bloopers, they are hilarious because I’m the same way all day everyday, especially after having kids, my mom brain stayed! Haha!

It is a bit odd that no-one in the house that night (as we're all assuming based on evidence) woke up from the sound of gunfire and fled, but, could that be because they were petrified, glued to the spot, and didn't want to risk running of by themselves to just get picked off one by one, or didn't want to leave their siblings alone and in danger? Perhaps Ronald attempted to calm his siblings or trick them into thinking someone else was the threat, therefore they didn't move/run away. Either way, this case is incredibly messed up.
I'm so glad you covered this one.......especially the way you did. This case has definitely been over shadowed by all the supernatural stuff, and I've always felt that the victims deserved to have their story remembered. A few years ago this house was up for sale and I looked into it. Even then I had a hard time finding any info that wasn't strongly slanted towards demonic. You found more on them than I ever could. Great job!

Hi Brittany! It's been so beautiful watching you fall so deeply in love with your little man...ok, what I think is...long term drug use, especially the hard drugs he was using, can cause people to do horrendous things. Throw in the fact that he was also never given the correct kind of discipline (cause & effect) and he was raised in domestic violence...it was a perfect storm. Speaking as someone who suffered from substance abuse (in recovery for 24 yrs now)...my thinking was WHACK...my best ideas got me in jail and then thankfully treatment. Great job 👏 👍

I lived in Amityville during alot of my childhood and my grandma (RIP) worked at the bar Ron went to after the murder(like she was the barmaid that night) the bars name was later changed to cloud 9 I believe. My friends and I used to swim into the boathouse of the “horror house” on Ocean ave. as a dare. Tourists used to always be outside taking pictures it was a huge deal especially everytime a new movie was released. A friend of mine lived in the house right next door, not going to lie a lot of us encountered something supernatural during those swims or when we snuck onto the property or even in pictures, my cousin who didn’t live in Amityville was doing a project on the murders and all the pictures she took had either what looked liked shadows of people and others that looked like fire in the highest window.
