    You just got my project running! I’ve just picked up a 50cc project Honda and it wouldn’t start. I had already cleaned the carb but took it apart again. The pilot jet was blocked! Missed that first time. I had to improvise but a lighter did the trick for me whist holding it with pliers! I’m now up and running. Thank you so much! 🙌

    Have a 90cc baja atv that was given to me was line up for 4 to 5 years outdoors it was in good shape for being out doors that long engine turn over great but the carburetor was pulg up bad got the carb clean got all but one jet clean and the jet that was clogged was the pilot jet I tried everything to get it clear and when I see this on TH-cam I had to give it a try and after 3 attempts with the touch I got the pilot jet clear and no damage to it tomorrow going to put it back in the carburetor now the engine i got in to run I use a different pilot jet that came of a yamaha kodiak 400 carburetor it look similar so put it in just to see if the motor runs and it runs great idles a little rough but it works so when I put back the right jet it should idle little bit better thanks for the tip

    a very helpful tip/tutorials video worth being placed on youtube thank you so much helped alot ,had exact issue though I'm a complete novice and thought there was supposed to no through hole in that part,first trying of rebuilding a carburetor with no knowledge of their function or how a clean version should look like,I used berrymin' chem dip and luckily cleared out still passed copper wire thru it afterwards for assurance,tried cleaning these brass parts with vinegar for shine but was not truely worth the extra effort because the small brass parts got oxidized with 'buildup' again anyway,but it didn't seem to effect the brass negatively🌊

    My seemingly clogged brass pilot jet took ages to clear with heat, wire and finally drilling....The hard black inner eventually cleared but then made me wonder if it was purposefully made that way with to restrict fuel flow, because now the bike wont start...
    Only way to get it running again is by completely removing the needle and diaphragm, which now runs like a dream....very weird ?

    • @bikermike
      @bikermike  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I Myself have never seen a pilot jet without a passage way for the fuel to be drawn through it. (Unless to was clogged) Maybe some do not have the holes up the sides but I'm sure that they all have the hole through the centre. (which is the one that clogs up). You can look up the part on partzilla and see how it looks. And Thanks this method was the only way that ended up working for me.
