Thank you for another ‘rambly’ podcast. I always enjoy them. Good luck with that weather…. The humidity must be a nightmare. Was there once for a week in that sort of weather and UGH. …. That white yarn was a wonderful find! Such exciting stuff. Enjoy!

Thank you for your comment! I really appreciate it and yes, the humidity is almost unbearable. I'm grateful it's cooled down a wee bit this week

Lovely episode. I was so excited to see your 'mystery' yarns. They look so good, especially the mohair (looks heavier than fingering, but always hard to tell with mohair) and the lustre on the silk. But the real gem is that book. Oh my, that is priceless. It's great that you are going to see if it can be scanned to preserve its precious contents. Good job. :)

Hello! thank you so much for your comment and yes, the book is absolutely priceless. I'm so in love with it and very excited about the yarn too. I'll have to film so dyeing adventures I think

I am just catching up with my podcasts, and I always love watching yours. That mystery yarn is such an amazing treasure and I love the old book. The sock construction pictures are so wonderful. I think the name looks like Edith Blakeney, but it is really hard to tell on the screen. Thank you so much for sharing and preserving such a treasure.

Hello! Lovely to see you back and thank you so much for your comment. Really made my day x Isn't the book magnificent. I've been sick but it's on my list to have it all scanned so I can share the pages. I'm over the moon with it and the yarn find.

HI Taylor. I have found out recently that knitting lace patterns can look scrappy and disappointing as you knit, but once the project is blocked, it turns out well.

Always love a new podcast. Totally get the feeling of knitting the same yarn for years 😂. I over bought or worse under brought those first few years. I'm currently knitting on an all over ribbed sock myself, you are right, they fit so well. Although, mines in a silk 4ply, so needs the give for stretch. That mystery yarn looks like silk to me, but I'm no expert. Good to see you again, Mark says hi!

Hello lovely! So good to see you too. Ahh the perils of too much or not enough yarn. The struggle is real! 😂Oooh I'd love to hear how you go with a silk sock. Im contemplating a mohair pair but not sure if it would be a waste. Say hi from me x

@@TheMakersCorner finally finished the watching. The book looks amazing. I'd say go for it on the mohair socks. What is yarn if not to be made into something useful and comfortable and beautiful? The fit on the silk socks so far is promising. I was concerned about the lack of flex in it but the rib helps a lot.
