Thank you for posting this. I was part of the PR team for the council at the time and this was a focal part of the Poole - It's a Beautiful Place campaign. It was an incredibly emotive piece of film at the time and is now a great piece of the history of the town. Only 21 years old and there are parts of this film (ie Poole Pottery, Icetrax, Venue) which no longer exist but are important parts of the heritage of the town. It was an incredible time for Poole and a fantastic time to be part of publicising the Borough. Small claim to fame - I was on the very first ride of the road train on the launch day :D Thank you colintve - it was brilliant when you made it and just as important now.
It was commissioned for the tourism department of Poole Council in 1994 (approximately). It was to attract visitors to the town as part of the Poole It's a Beautiful Place campaign and also the bid to become a self-governing authority. The production company - I wold contact the person who uploaded this as I can't remember the name of the company.
Hi, I live in Poole and believe me it has gone down hill so much. Half the shops have closed down, Poole Pottery no longer make any pottery, and the building is now just a gift shop selling tacky items. The nightclub and ice rink have gone. All the plants in the shopping centre have gone. It's such a shame. I don't understand what's happened to the place. It needs millions spending on the place and it could be an amazing thriving tourist destination. It's getting worse and wish someone would do something. If I had the money I would. Getting so annoyed with the council!!!
Wow how different is it now. I loved laser quest. Ice trax should never have been turned into a bingo hall. Only vaguely remember the venue but took my sons to the soft play area it has become
@PixieTrix87 Well it is when you look at it compared to a lot of the rest of the uk! Its a great place obviously you might not be taking it in and exploring its full beauty enough!

Poole has changed alot in the past 6 years!
Bring back ice trax :( best place in the world, practically lived there as a teenager.
