    Great video and explanation. For folks chasing this issue down or seeing it repeat itself: note that even if clipped in, if you have something stored behind your seats, such as a hunting rifle, blanket, etc., it can press against the vent through the insulation when in place and will allow water to run in from above and/or below the vent. If you can get the vent well-seated and pass a hose test, safest bet is to avoid storing items back there and will be far less likely to see this as a repeated issue.

      Yep, they can't take much pressure against them or they'll not seal

    Thanks! Fixed my 2018 F150 leak with this video! Now I need to figure out how to get the mildew smell out.

      Pull up the carpet, put a fan on it to dry it out, and then use Lysol

    Thanks for showing this.. but this really pisses me off to think that I spent over $100K on a damn truck that when I stop at a red light, I see and hear a water wave sloshing up on my passenger floorboard from the backseat up to the front . Ford needs to be held accountable, the audacity of them to increase their prices and lower the quality. WTF! Sorry, rant over😂

    This video saved me a ton of time. Thank you very much ! Does anyone know if Ford has a TSB for this issue? I’m worried that it will happen again.

    • @SealofPerfection

      No TSB that I am aware of.
      If you fix that or install the new one correctly it really shouldn't happen. Most of them are usually just not installed correctly to begin with

    Mine is clipped in. But water leaks through the fabric vents. Any idea how to fix it?

    • @SealofPerfection

      It's okay if it leaks in through the fabric vents because it has a path to get back out of the truck. Only if somehow or another they are leaking into the truck itself and getting onto the floor is that a problem. At that point you would need to replace it

      HC3Z-25280B62-B is the part number. They're available in many places, at dealerships and on the web.

    • @SealofPerfection

      Yes sometimes the seal on them goes bad and you just have to replace it. Theoretically you could seal it, but you need to take it Loose to do that and by the time you do all that you might as well just put one in , because it's not easy

      Do you have to pull the bed to replace?

  • @huggibear8886

    Any chance you’d have the replacement part number for a 2017 F-150 with the 3.5L ecoboost? Do you know if it’s possible to replace these without removing the bed for access?

    • @SealofPerfection

      HC3Z-25280B62-B is the part number, I believe. You can search it on a Ford OEM parts site to be sure. As to the replacement....it varies. They are VERY tight to get out from inside the cab. I can do it, and nearly always get it done that way, but it's pretty hard.
      A few times I've had to have the techs at the dealership loosen either the bed or the cab to get it out.

      I can’t tell you how much this video (and your comments) have meant to me. I have meticulously maintained my vehicle and intend to drive it until she gives out on me but this leak had me ready to move on. I can’t wait to get home from work tonight and try and get this fixed.

      @@huggibear8886 thanks, I really appreciate that.
      And best of luck working on it.

    If my truck had this problem, I would seal it caulk,

    • @SealofPerfection

      It's awfully hard to get to from the outside to seal. I'd recommend silicone if anyone did try that method, but getting coverage from inside would be tough.
      I do have a simple, but very effective fix in another video.
