Australian Shepherds will figure you out. We had to let our Aussie of 14 years go this past March. He was our first Aussie but at a very early age, he knew what his role was which here on our rural, woodland mountain was to take care of his homestead. He with no professional training knew that we were his peeps and his job was to take care of us. He protected our cats, he protected our chickens, he protected our home and he protected us. His name was Grady and we miss him dearly.

I know I always will. She was just simply the best. But I feel that I am finally ready to love another Aussie, and, so, I am picking up a ten week old pup in ten days. Just got my Aussie puppy last night! Last one left of the litter at 3 m, 3 w, and the owner gave him to me. Yay! She did a great job socializing and crate training him and although I walk him in the yard every 2 hours, he lets me know if he needs to go out sooner. Not one mess. I walked him all around the yard and the house to introduce him to his surroundings and let him sniff. Such a good boy! He fetches! He understands "no" and "come". We will work on "heel" tonight as his leash skills are not great. Did fine in the crate the first night, but wanted to be by my side the second. We're in love. Velcro. Even the TNR cat that adopted me approves and he is not chasing her. Although he looked terrified to leave his mom and dad and all the other dogs and people in the house, he has not cried or whimpered once. I was blessed to be given this puppy after 11 years without a dog, having lost my Blk Lab (14), my Dane (12) and my Calico tail-less cat (19) all in one year. He has herded all his toys together and his job for now is to carry his stuffed lamb wherever he goes.

As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. I dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
had my puppy for less than a week, he goes outside to go potty beautifully. I take him everytime he wakes up from a nap or everytime he had food and water, usually the rest of the time he is napping in his crate (he is two months and a half). Thank you so much fo these videos
I just got a Aussie puppy he is 6 weeks old and he naps a lot! He uses the bathroom and bites his toy for 2 minutes then naps again is that normal? For him to sleep that much
I've had my Baby home for couple days now....she is by far the smartest puppies I have ever had...potty trained at 6 weeks...sits...shakes my hand at 8 weeks...awesome dog!!
I have had my Aussie for a year and 3 months now, he was a Christmas present for my daughter. He has been such a joy and I cannot tell you what a wonderful boy he has been. He is extremely smart, so loving, and protective. Not 1 regret. We love him immensely! Best breed ever! ❤
Just as an FYI as a breeder of Aussies for 36 years. When they are old enough to listen and they are in the middle of doing something, I use minimal words and tell them what they're already going to be doing as they do it (as they're growing up before the owners get them) if you're watching them carefully and pay attention to their body language you can tell when they're fixing to do certain things-so just word associate. so if they naturally on their own go to sit or lie down I say sit, good sit... as they are going potty which I call break, I say go break then whilst going good break. If they go to potty in the house I say Ahh no, break outside, but not in a aggravated tone or rushing towards them, I just go and pick them up and put them in the proper go potty place and say break outside, followed by good break. Then I will also progress and Ask for a sit or down Etc and reward it, but basically they've been word associating already. My Rewards are also just a happy face and a good dog I'm not usually into treats or clicker training it's all facial expression, body language, and paying attention to them, so you can be ahead of their intelligence and set yourself up for success by preventing them from doing something you don't want them to do, and training properly what to do, which is to have their utmost attention. Thus using every opportunity you're not behind in your commands. For instance if you know they might react to want to chase something. if you're paying attention to what's going on around you, you can pre Focus their attention before they're "gone" by saying wait or sit, you have to be hyper Vigilant LOL especially with Aussies. Just a trick I use. Try not to use excited baby talk, but just matter of factly in a happy normal tone. I find that this helps the new owner immensely. I also allow them to crate train themselves. When they are behind a baby gate say in the kitchen, I leave the crate in there with the door open, and I close it when they're all in there asleep, because it was Their idea to go into the crate. This helps with keeping the puppies safe and then helps delineate the break time and establishes better timing Control Association, because immediately when they wake up you take them out. It causes less anxiety because they like their AKA bedroom. I tell new owners that crates are not for punishment they are a training tool and for young puppies that need supervision at all times when you go to sleep, they should be crated. It's not just about chewing up your wires but eating things that they shouldn't that can lead to those unexpected surgeries. I will also take them on car rides so they are used to that as well before the owners ever get their puppies. Proper training goes a long way to zero anxiety and confident well started pups. I love your training videos and thank you for doing them, I like sharing these kinds of shorts with the new puppy owners😊
My family is getting our Blue Merle Male Australian Shepherd in 12 days! We’re so excited. 😄😁 Update: Things have been going great! We named him Oreo (I know, I know, not super creative but all the little ones liked the idea and it’s easy to teach and suits him 🥰). He is so loving and such an attention seeker. He sleeps through the night and has learned several tricks. He is very energetic and crazy. It seems that wherever he goes, destruction follows. So that’s a bit of a struggle but we’ve been working on it. He’s got a bit of an attitude but he loves cuddles and kisses. These dogs are great. Do your research, feed them properly, train them physically and mentally, and love them. They’re precious. 😁 Update #2: I got a husky and another Australian shepherd. Fun fact- the Australian shepherds share the same mom. We named the husky Jax and the other Australian shepherd Cookie (she’s a black tri). They’re all precious and have so much fur.
Getting our first AS in 4 weeks. We named him Blu and can't wait to love him. He will be our first non English Bulldog but with our son being 10 and working from home, it's a welcomed change for us.
Best dogs ever. Or at least Hemi is. Never had a accident in the house, never chewed up anything and the only time be really barks is if somethings not right or coyotes are around. If nobody is home...he hangs out with the chickens
I've had my aussie for 2 weeks I got him at 8 weeks old he already knows how to fetch, spin, weave betweeen my legs, down, sit, shake. he sits at the door to go potty never once has peed in the house and goes to his crate for bed time
We just brought home our 10 week old aussie....she is beautiful and already learning to "go" outside to do her business...these videos are a wonderful way for us both to get trained!! Thank you so much!!
My Australian Sherpherd German Shepherd cross was a free farm dog that was posted on facebook. I was looking for another dog that could be an active jogger and hiker with me, and I jumped on the post as soon as I saw it. She was 5 months old and the previous owner had been given three of them from an accidental litter. She must have been abused as she was incredibly timid and scared, and severely underweight. They wouldn't let me come to their farm to pick her up, they had her delivered to me by a horse hauling company. I've been working on her timidness and reactivity and she is doing great! It's been 5 months since I've gotten her, and she is able to walk on a leash calmly and she doesn't lash out at other dogs as much. She learned the basic commands very quickly, and we have been building a lot of trust and confidence. She is a wonderful dog and it's sad that she went through so much in the first few months of her life.
Same. I found mine (or he found me) driving through in the middle of the boonies in farmland. All evidence points to him reaching maturity 1-1.5years, turning out to be too lazy to be a "working" dog, and abandoned.
Our first Blue Merle was with us for 12 yrs before she passed. Kanoli was an amazing addition to our family!! An,d she helped to train her sister, Kallu, 2 years later. The "girls" made us a family!!
Today was day one for us. He's 8 weeks old. 🥰 Eating good, playing good, he went outside to potty. We are looking to train him to help heard chickens back in their coop. Great video. Thank you! 🐶
I started by having my AS in a kennel box at night on the other side of my house. I never used it as punishment so she would willingly go into it every night. That's when she got one of her toys. So I made it a good experience for her always. That helped with the potty training as well. First thing I did every morning was to let her out. She was okay with the kennel always. I never left her in it for very long and she was only in it at night while I slept. First command she actually learned was "go potty". When she squatted outside, I repeated "go potty" to her and gave her a lot of praise and a treat. Potty training was really a breeze this way. She had accidents at first in the kennel, but I never scolded her or got upset. I took her outside and cleaned the kennel immediately. She never went into a soiled kennel. I think the biggest mistake is people get lazy about it... don't. Just do it. Pause the TV or whatever and take care of the dog. You'll thank yourself later when you have a reliably potty trained dog. She no longer has to be in a kennel at all... since one year old. Even with the best of dogs... potty trained for years... accidents happen. Don't make a big deal about it is my best advice. I know some people don't like the idea of a kennel... but if the dog actually enjoys the time in it, it can be a good thing. It also helps keep them out of trouble and developing the bad habit of chewing things they shouldn't.
My puppy was found abandoned at a rental house 2 days ago. He is approx 6 weeks old. We already have a 2 year old Great Dane, and so far he is the greatest big brother! Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate your videos. SUBSCRIBED from Vegas❤️
My daughter has a Blue Merle nine month old gal...I am going to retire next year before getting a pup of my own. Learning so much from y'all. WOW. I watch your videos and other people's as well. I am enamoured with these pooches. She will visit us tomorrow, bring with her my daughter and boyfriend. :oD THANX for popping your vids up. Happy Easter!
We are picking our Blue Merle Male in 5 days! Driving from California to Texas to get him. We love him already and haven’t even met him in person yet. We’ve luckily got to FaceTime with him earlier today.
I’ve been waiting for my puppy since he was 7 days old. He’s a little over a month now, I have 3 more weeks until we bring him home. I’ve gone and met him twice so far, once more before I take him home. I have everything planned out for the most part, but still watching for tips to perfect things.
I got two aussie pups and I was taking them out every 20 minutes for potty breaks, it worked a lot better. I started doing videos for them which are on TH-cam. Good things you are talking about. We got a trainer, so we are working on those for now. You have some good information, thanks!
I have a female Aussie she is the smartest dog I’ve ever owned we got her a volley ball and I name it Wilson I can tell her where is Wilson and she goes and gets that one special ball super smart and loving dog ❤❤❤
I stopped this 4 seconds in. My take on introducing a new Aussie. Get down and play. Teach from day one. Even stupid things like toy names Love. Show them love and respect and you will be awarded ten fold. Train. Training starts with consistency. Feed them at the same times morning and night. You will have a permanent alarm clock. Redirect bad behavior. It’s your fault you did not give your Aussie enough stimulation and toys to play with. Your shoe is gone move on unless you catch them in the act, do not punish. Never hit an Aussie. It’s your fault you did not make clear what your expectations are. Bottom line always love your Aussie teach train and be consistent. You will be rewarded with a best friend who will protect you and yours and a play mate no matter your age.
I got my aussie the other day hes a blue merle and his name is tux very different i know i know but he listens very well he sat on his 3rd try we learned stay in a hour
We've taken in a 9 year old abandoned Aussie. He was dropped out in country. He was attacked by coyotes but came to live with us. He had heartworm and a skin problem but we've gotten him over these health hurdles. How do I train a 9 year old male Aussie? Very kind, loving, energetic boy he is.
Hey Julie, thanks for watching! So sorry to hear what happened to our Aussie but it's so great that he's found a home with you. You can use any of the techniques on our channel with an older dog, it just might take a little more time for them to pick it up compared to a puppy. However, we do have a course, Boot Camp, over on our website that might be helpful to look into. We wrote it to help restructure the relationship between owner and older dog, we do offer a free taster if you would like to check that out first too, Principles of Canine Behaviour. If you head to our website you'll be able to find out more about both courses: www.fenrirdogtraining.com/courses Hope training goes well!
my mini aussie is only 8 weeks old and 3.1 pounds.. my full size aussie is great. my mutt is great.. i was told not to take him outside yet we dont have a fenced yard... i did take my other dogs out but they were on heartguard and flea stuff... he isn't yet..
Nine month olld Aussi going through her first heat. It’s like her whole personality is snapped. Still nose or commands, which I’ve worked on since day one she leaves sits stays all the basic commands but lately she doesn’t want to walk decently on the leash. I have been using a very small prong, which helps greatly. I think it might be because she’s in heat, but if you could do a video with about a nine month old Ozzie, and go from there, that would be really super helpful.
What is your take on using puppy pads? My wife and I are expecting an Aussie puppy during the summer and we both work full time. Could you please do a video on what to do when you work from 7 am- 4 pm Monday-Friday?
Uh, don't have an extremely needy puppy. I feel like that's terrible advice, but still, if you can't give it the attention it needs than I don't know if you should take on owning one. However, it's past the summer now and I have to ask, did you get the puppy? If so what's their name and gender and how are they doing?
I know this is late, but pads are not good, because they teach the dog that inside is where to go, not outside. That’s the only problem people and dogs have with them.
Fabulous videos, thank you so much! We are currently exploring if an Australian Shepard is right for us, and your channel is incredibly helpful with our research.
I have a 10 weeks old Aussie but she is a little smaller. I asked the breeder and they said she’s a regular size not a mini or toy.. so what do you know?
I have a question on potty training a puppy. What do "you" do when everyone in the house works full time and can't take the puppy out every hour? Will they just use like a pee pad in the crate? And what size crate to get for a mini Assie? TIA
I am a first time dog owner. I just got a10 week old black tri color Aussie. Im in love but stressed. LOL. I take him out to pee and after we are in the house for a short time he pees again on the floor. he's had lots of accidents. Im starting the on the hour every hour etc plan. How much water do I give him? Maybe Im giving too much.
I have had my pup for almost two years now, he came from a farm, never had an accident, but getting him used to inside was tricky, and cars. It's been a breeze for me for the most part, but I work from home and he gets to be busy often. Only issue is he is terrified of my cats, so he either hides under my desk when we're inside or in his kennel, his safe spots from the cats.
Thanks you for this video because am getting my first one Australian Shepherd in a month in a half from now i am so excited & your video help out a lot
If the puppy is sleeping would you recommend waking him up so he goes on the hour or letting him sleep even if it's 3hrs and take him out when he wakes up?
Thanks for watching! If he's asleep its fine to leave him but make sure you let him out once he wakes up. When he's up try to take him out every hour 😊
Good advice! I was doing it every hour even waking him up from sleep. I swear this puppy looked at me like I was crazy! Lol now everyone is rocking and rolling!
How about training three pups at one time we had the young pups show up at our home . They are so excited to see us, but I can't get them to stop jumping all over us with out getting ripped up by there nails.. the potty training has been such a hard process but we are getting there . The other problem is we have tried and looked far and wide for chew bones to keep them from chewing and destroying everything in the home .. and once they get outside all commands are out the window. We can't get them to come when called we can't get them to stay in the yard which is 1 1/2 acres . And sneak off to the woods behind our place. . Other than that they are very smart, and loving , and have made our lives fun again .. but those few things above is what we are struggling with.. help
My family's Aussie isn't even born yet, but we have a deposit paid for at a reputable breeder that's just over 2 hours away. Long time dog owners here. I personally have always implemented sit-stay-brake/recall. We currently own a rescue AmStaff/AmBull mix. Rescued her at 6 months and she'll be going on 13 yrs. She's 100% deaf, but the shelter never disclosed that to us. Still obedient though, just took work! This will be my family's first Aussie; really looking forward to its personality and drive.
My daughter brought home a 7 week old female Pembroke Corgi/Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix last week. Her body type is taking after the Shepherd and Heeler. Having 3 lines of cattle dog coursing through the DNA, what’s her personality? A happy and floppy Velociraptor 😐😑😐….🫠❤️
Awesome video guys thanks so much feeling more and more prepared as the big day approaches. Going to be a challenge with my 3 young children on the consistency but your guidance definitely helping me determine boundaries to lead the pack.
My blue merl I jus picked up came potty trained at 10 weeks old she also likes the middle back seat in the cars so she can see out the front window, learned sit and paw and jump in 2 days hella good dog would recommend. Has phases of crackhead energy but it’s appreciated
Question What do you recommend for this situation. My aussie puppy knows to sit stay and wait for the release before crossing the known thresholds. But once he gets the okay he goes completely nuts. Like bulldozing whatever is in his way jumping nipping ect. By the way I have a slip lead on him and he will choke himself out. It is like he has no idea how to keep his cool once he gets the okay. How do you redirect that behavior. I have been looking a all kinds of videos on TH-cam and all of their puppies are all so claim during the whole training session. I have yet found something to explain what to do when your puppy does something like this. I try to stay claim but at times it gets super frustrating because I do not know what I need to be doing in order to correct this and it is not fair to my puppy.
What do you think a 10 week old Aussie would be around an 8 month old baby who’s about to start crawling? I want to get an Aussie off my friend but kind of worried since I have a baby whos going to be crawling around
I had to put my Miniature Australian Shepherd down on July 7,2021 .He had CHF and there was nothing else I could do for him .I am so sad he was only 10 years old but I couldn't let him suffer

Have you ever worked with an Aussie doodle? We have a 10 week old male puppy that has been cornering, barking, butt up in the air and growling, some say he’s herding my kids but I feel like it may be more then that. Also any tips on the biting? Seems to more then just puppy biting... we have using distractions, toys treats to get the release but it doesn’t seems to be working and I think he figured out if I bit and let go they will give me a treat. Any tips would help!
Excellent video! Lots of great information! The potty training part works! I have always done this with any puppy I have ever had and it totally works! :)
I would love to have one they are sooo cute! but do you think it would be fine if we got one in the city? We live in an area with a park next door and quite a bit of green but I think aussies are mostly country dogs as they need exercise and space... i would also be able to walk it 3 times a day, once before school, once right after school, and once after dinner but i'm not sure it's enough :(
I have an Australian/border collie. She is 4 1/2 months old. Her birthday is November 28. I just got her from the dog rescue. She’s a sweet girl but I believe she’s getting a little over protective over me lol barks at strangers/dogs not able to control her walking to the park sometimes need help. Lol overall she’s a sweet girl Out is it too late to start her on your plan since I’ve had her for about two weeks already?
Good lucky everyone I have a 6 month old mini Aussie hardest dog I’ve ever had to own she goes to day care every day and walks and throw her ball she’s still barking for you to throw the ball all day she nuts very destructive so far in last 5 months she ate 6 phone cords a couch 4 pieces of clothing very good at potting outside only good part
Hi, I have a question. You mention that you have to take the new pupper every hour outside and give him the opportunity to go to the bathroom at the right place. But what about if he´s a puppy 2 months old? It is my understanding that you should not take puppies so young outside because of the possibility of getting disease from older dogs? Is this right? If you have to keep them inside your home for the first two month how do you do de potty training? Thanks!
I rescued a 7-month old to our 23 acre homestead. It's been only 12 hours, and I may have made a huge mistake. This boy is crazy. I can't even get him on a leash without him attacking me or anyone else. One second, he's calm, but will flip to insane in an instant. I want him to succeed. I don't know how to get him started.
We're getting one today that's a rescue, she's 7 months old and has been in a pin. I have plenty of room on my farm for her to run I'm just wondering how hard the training will be given she's 7 months old?
Hey, my family are looking at a new dog and my favourite breed is a mini Aussie. However we have a cat and I can’t find much info on how Aussie act with cats, anyone have advice?
Hey Frankie, thanks for watching! We have a video looking at how they are with children and pets you might find helpful: th-cam.com/video/O0lgAxs8GRw/w-d-xo.html&pbjreload=101
My Anakin (My Australian Shephard) is respectful (and fearful) of my cats, utterly terrified of the kittens I foster though. I monitor him though I don't leave them unattended other than him in his kennel (which I have a cover for so the cats can't torment him in).
So yesterday my family just adopted an aussie shepherd that is 7 months old. He was rescued but needed more than the rescuer could offer. He seems to not want to leave my side. And he cautious of everyone. He jumps away from new stuff. I would like him to wear my boys out and help manage our ducks and chickens. Any tips or pointers on that? Going to watch more too.
we just got one and i watched this video way before getting our dog and this video helped out family !!!!! 2 thumbs up from Southern california . My dogs name is bubbles!
I like the idea of taking them out every hour! How do you make it work when you your at work? My girlfriend will be gone for 3 hours in the morning so he would be in the kennel for 3 hours alone
I just got our new Australian "puppy" , i quote that because he is six months old, we are unsure of the practices put in place by the previous owner so we are at a total loss where to start. Do we treat him as a new pup or just work with what we have?
Hi, I'm a first time pet owner and we are getting our puppy in a week. I've been doing research, but I'm still a little confused if I should put a potty litter inside the play pen I got her, we live in an apartment complex where there's lots of dog and I know I can't take her out for potty till she has all of her vaccines, I do have a small balcony where I'm planning to also put a potty litter and take her there, but I want to know if it's okay to have one inside either in the playpen or another designed area? thank you for your help
Is it good if the potty place is at the backyard, and is there a way to teach them to do toilet training indoors with something like a thing specifically for potty.
Hello there in need of help. We adopted a mini Australian shepherd Kelpi mix puppy. We have had her for 3 weeks she is 12 weeks. She is potty trained she is doing great with in 4 days she goes potty outside. She sits, lays, knows leave it, she knows walking on leash and when we say stop she sits. She sits before going into the house so we walk in first. She even high fives, but she charges us herds us and nips and bites. She got me in the ear today and it broke skin. We are her forever home so we won't give up. When she bites we tell her no sternly, then we give her her teaching bone and say redirect and praise her. but then she tries biting again we were told by another trainer to gently hold her muzzle. We need her to stop biting we are training her as a service dog. Any advice. I feel like I'm doing this all wrong.
I just got a mini australian shepherd 10 weeks old and she's 100% terrified. I mean u say training but I can't get her to walk with me on a leash to go to the bathroom, she just straight up won't go. She won't eat her food either except licking it. She absolutely is a blank canvas with everything and I do mean everything. I've been reeling her in when I call her slowly the saying good job. Yup I'm probably a failure.
I hope you guys respond, what I’m supposed to do since I have a 4 week old Aussie shepherd, she’s a pure bread, but she is not up to date on her parvo shots and has a couple weeks till her start, and a couple 10 weeks till she’s done with her worm shots, and I live in an extremely high traffic area of animals, and the people around me are repulsive owners and majority abusive and neglected dogs around. I’m super scared bringing her outside because 80% of the dogs in my neighborhood are very vicious with lazy stupid owners who have no control over them. I’m also very worried about her getting parvo or worms or anything of the sorts without her needed shots.
Australian Shepherds will figure you out. We had to let our Aussie of 14 years go this past March.

My Aussie is now six months old. The first three weeks were really stressful. Now he knows to chill and is a wonderful dog.
This gives me hope. I’ve had my Aussie for a week and as she had become more comfortable and stronger she seems to test me every way she can.
Took me 4 years to be able to say that. Good on you!
@Gael Zaiden that's invasion of privacy. not something you wanna promote especially since it can cause insecurities and toxicity in relationships 🙂
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Rene Tony Instablaster :)
These dogs are extremely smart they practically train themselves. Very loving
had my puppy for less than a week, he goes outside to go potty beautifully. I take him everytime he wakes up from a nap or everytime he had food and water, usually the rest of the time he is napping in his crate (he is two months and a half). Thank you so much fo these videos
That is awesome!
Update!!! 😬
So happy to hear this! Tomorrow I will be the daughter who gets an Aussie for Christmas and this video and comments are all so helpful❤
Update: Things have been going great! 😁
Update #2: I got a husky and another Australian shepherd. Fun fact- the Australian shepherds share the same mom. We named the husky Jax and the other Australian shepherd Cookie (she’s a black tri). They’re all precious and have so much fur.
Good luck!!
They are the BEST!
Getting mine red tri next month 😊
How is the Blue Merle Male Australian Shepard? :D
Getting a black tri girl in 8 weeks here.
Same exactly, except I don't have chickens and worry he may get too attached/separation anxiety
So glad she got you...
Eating good, playing good, he went outside to potty.
We are looking to train him to help heard chickens back in their coop.
Great video. Thank you! 🐶
so cute 🥰
Thanks for watching! Hope settling your new addition into the family goes well and you find our channel helpful 😊
Thanks so much! Hope you find our videos helpful and you learn more!
We are picking our Blue Merle Male in 5 days! Driving from California to Texas to get him. We love him already and haven’t even met him in person yet. We’ve luckily got to FaceTime with him earlier today.
so how did it go
I’ve been waiting for my puppy since he was 7 days old. He’s a little over a month now, I have 3 more weeks until we bring him home. I’ve gone and met him twice so far, once more before I take him home. I have everything planned out for the most part, but still watching for tips to perfect things.
How’s it going?
Interested as well
I got two aussie pups and I was taking them out every 20 minutes for potty breaks, it worked a lot better.
Mine is 2 months old now I’m so excited for it
I stopped this 4 seconds in.
My take on introducing a new Aussie.
Get down and play.
Teach from day one. Even stupid things like toy names
Love.
Your Aussie must the luckiest dog on the planet. I have two mini Aussies; my two little buddies join me with nearly everything I do.
😂 you guys sound like dog nuts. Don’t correct the dog, blame yourself. Lol. That’s not love for humans or dogs.
I got my aussie the other day hes a blue merle and his name is tux very different i know i know but he listens very well he sat on his 3rd try we learned stay in a hour
I am adopting an Australian Shepherd on Saturday. Very excited to start this journey. Wish me luck 😊
Picking up my MA tomorrow! Cannot wait to bring him home.
If you head to our website you'll be able to find out more about both courses: www.fenrirdogtraining.com/courses
Hope training goes well!
I’m getting my Australian Shepard pup in summer 2021
This helped a lot thank you
Also I’m naming it Tucker
Hope all goes well as you pre to bring Tucker home!
Thanks!!!!
my mini aussie is only 8 weeks old and 3.1 pounds.. my full size aussie is great. my mutt is great.. i was told not to take him outside yet we dont have a fenced yard... i did take my other dogs out but they were on heartguard and flea stuff... he isn't yet..
TIA
What are your thoughts of getting a 10 week old Aussie when I have a 8 month old baby?
I am a first time dog owner. I just got a10 week old black tri color Aussie. Im in love but stressed. LOL. I take him out to pee and after we are in the house for a short time he pees again on the floor. he's had lots of accidents. Im starting the on the hour every hour etc plan. How much water do I give him? Maybe Im giving too much.
I have had my pup for almost two years now, he came from a farm, never had an accident, but getting him used to inside was tricky, and cars. It's been a breeze for me for the most part, but I work from home and he gets to be busy often. Only issue is he is terrified of my cats, so he either hides under my desk when we're inside or in his kennel, his safe spots from the cats.
they def attacked him once in ur sleep lol
Thanks you for this video because am getting my first one Australian Shepherd in a month in a half from now i am so excited & your video help out a lot
That is awesome!
Lol now everyone is rocking and rolling!
i got my australian shepherd today! he's 3 months old and do you have any suggestions on what should i teach him on the first couple days?
Thank you, got my Australian shepherd puppy yezterday, your video is very helpful. 😀
It’s Feb I’m not getting a puppy till march and I already have a routine I’m going to start
Guys!! Can Aussies live outside I’ve seen very mixed opinions on this and I’m not sure what to do. Are they happy like that?
My daughter brought home a 7 week old female Pembroke Corgi/Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix last week. Her body type is taking after the Shepherd and Heeler. Having 3 lines of cattle dog coursing through the DNA, what’s her personality? A happy and floppy Velociraptor 😐😑😐….🫠❤️
We got our 3 month Aussie two weeks ago-- its been a nightmare!!! We are trykng to re-home her.
Dang. I feel like these videos can make me a better momma to my four kids. I don’t even have a dog and I’ve watched like 5 of these videos tonight 😂
Awesome video guys thanks so much feeling more and more prepared as the big day approaches. Going to be a challenge with my 3 young children on the consistency but your guidance definitely helping me determine boundaries to lead the pack.
Thanks for watching Christian! Hope the final bits of prep continues to go well, you've got this 💪🏼
Im getting a puppy in 8 days! Im so happy
For some reason I can’t access the class but would love to download it.
My blue merl I jus picked up came potty trained at 10 weeks old she also likes the middle back seat in the cars so she can see out the front window, learned sit and paw and jump in 2 days hella good dog would recommend. Has phases of crackhead energy but it’s appreciated
Very good video, thank you so much for the info!
Question
What do you recommend for this situation.
Did you ever find a solution?
What do you think a 10 week old Aussie would be around an 8 month old baby who’s about to start crawling? I want to get an Aussie off my friend but kind of worried since I have a baby whos going to be crawling around
What are the best training treats to give our Aussie puppy? Thank you !
I had to put my Miniature Australian Shepherd down on July 7,2021 .He had CHF and there was nothing else I could do for him .I am so sad he was only 10 years old but I couldn't let him suffer
So sorry to hear this Melissa! ❤️
@@willathertonaustralianshep8549 Thank you !! Eventually I will get another one but not right now ..They are such a fun loving smart and brilliant breed .I really miss him
Have you ever worked with an Aussie doodle? We have a 10 week old male puppy that has been cornering, barking, butt up in the air and growling, some say he’s herding my kids but I feel like it may be more then that. Also any tips on the biting? Seems to more then just puppy biting... we have using distractions, toys treats to get the release but it doesn’t seems to be working and I think he figured out if I bit and let go they will give me a treat. Any tips would help!
Excellent video! Lots of great information! The potty training part works! I have always done this with any puppy I have ever had and it totally works! :)
Awesome! Thank you!
@@twinstar9 did you ever find an answer
@@twinstar9 how’s your pup?
I would love to have one they are sooo cute! but do you think it would be fine if we got one in the city? We live in an area with a park next door and quite a bit of green but I think aussies are mostly country dogs as they need exercise and space... i would also be able to walk it 3 times a day, once before school, once right after school, and once after dinner but i'm not sure it's enough :(
I definitely found this video interesting. Is there anyway I can download your guides? Because the website address doesn’t seem to work anymore?
I love this breed, but I can’t get one because the waiting list is too long.
Ridiculous
Hopefully you'll be able to get one soon!
The website GoodDog has a lot of options!
I think for potty training a puppy, I think having a family first will help. Having for people involved in training the puppy helps.
Good lucky everyone I have a 6 month old mini
Aussie hardest dog I’ve ever had to own she goes to day care every day and walks and throw her ball she’s still barking for you to throw the ball all day she nuts very destructive so far in last 5 months she ate 6 phone cords a couch 4 pieces of clothing very good at potting outside only good part
Great Intel guys really love it like and subscribed
We're getting one today that's a rescue, she's 7 months old and has been in a pin. I have plenty of room on my farm for her to run I'm just wondering how hard the training will be given she's 7 months old?
I'm getting my aussie in a week exactly! I can't wait
My Aussie loves to chase the cats when they run. When they don't run, he's rather puzzled. They all get along well.
Wish I would have seen this video last week before we got our new Aussie pup.
And he is great with the cats which is a plus.
I don’t seem to be able to see the perfect puppy course? Is the link still correct and is the course available?
Definitely plan to use this!❤
we just got one and i watched this video way before getting our dog and this video helped out family !!!!! 2 thumbs up from Southern california . My dogs name is bubbles!
Soon will have a puppy ❤ I have a plan I can’t wait
I cannot find one to adopt!! Any ideas??
Great info, thanks for sharing
This popped up in my recommended 10 days before i get my aussie pup! Thanks!
That's awesome!
Great video! I like the high energy but the high energy also stresses me out a bit 🤪 maybe slow it down just a tad
If I get an Aussie at 13 weeks old, is it too late for training?
Is it good if the potty place is at the backyard, and is there a way to teach them to do toilet training indoors with something like a thing specifically for potty.
We are getting out puppy in 10 days I’m so excited
Hope all goes well getting them settled in!
this sounds really good , the how is the part that would helpful , showing examples with an untrained pup would be useful , thank you
Hello there in need of help.
Watching this the day after i got my special girl, mainly bc it was a surprise gift so kind of just going with it 😂
When should we start training our new puppy?
Will this advice work for any k-9 or just Aussies?
I got my ausie at 5 months so getting him used to his name is hard they never named him
great video! I agree 100%.
