- ➳ Frankie is now 2 years old so I figured it was finally time for you all to see the day when I first brought him home and our first month together! We have done a lot of training and a lot of growing over the past 2 years and I hope you follow along for the journey because it is only going to get better!

Oh my goodness, it just thrilled my heart to see someone that truly feels puppy love also as in understanding they are babies! That doesn't get mad because puppies are not potty trained yet and knows to let them out often. Also, it's good to have UA's done because if they have stuvites or other issues they can't even hold it for 3 hours!
And wow, this guy even knows to not let them on the ground yet without all of the necessary puppy vaccinations which by the way I am NOT against vaccinations but I am against over vaccinations so hope more people will do research on risk VS benefit to know which ones gives that benefit and to know how often they are needed.
Play biting is normal for them, too, although we have to train them early on to stop! I call it play biting because that is what puppies are doing playing but if not trained to stop that is when it can turn into aggressive biting.
And you are so right there is a lot of work! It's not all love an cuddles but I could see your love and commitment and wish every dog owner had that.
And for anyone that doesn't know don't let puppies go up/down stairs or jump up on the couch as their bones are not developed enough yet.
I have to add that I do NOT like breeders chopping off their tails!! It's cruel and not necessary if they aren't a working farm dog but even then I would find a bigger dog for that, one that didn't have to have their tails chopped off.
Beautiful dog! And they do give so much love. I really get upset when I see some dog owners not returning that love. I love dogs! I love puppies and I have loved my dogs just as much when they get old as when they are puppies. Not much upsets me more than when I see or hear of someone that abandoned their dog just because they got old 😥🐶 Dogs really love their owners and some dogs never take to another one.
I got my Aussie pup for my mental health too and it’s been pretty great! It makes you get up and go outside and play with them and go on walks with them, but then you slowly start to love those activities too and it’s the best thing ever! Especially playing fisbee :)

I had a "Frankie" (Francis), Standard Aussie , she was the love of my life. Frankie stole my heart for 16 beautiful years, I hope to be with her again in Heaven. My Frankie looked very much like your pup. Aussies teach us, kindness and love. You selected a great dog.
You make it so clear how much Frankie means to you. I found myself smiling so wide my face hurts. Frankie is adorable but so are you. Way to go. Live, love, laugh and stay positive. You are a symbol for overcoming sad and difficult times.

There is nothing that compares to that first time you go and meet the whole litter, whether you know which one you are getting, or if you are going to pick your pup. These dogs are so different from any others I have had. They make you think constantly, so you have to be one step ahead of them, while they are trying to be 5 steps ahead of you.
That one dislike is... Oh, wait, there are no dislikes
After 7 years of asking for a Mini Aussie, I finally got him in 2022. He is the sweetest. He doesn't look like Frankie as he is a black tri, but this channel gives me lots of info on him.

This video was so beautiful but it made me so sad. It looks like you two got along well from the start and Frankie looks so... well-balanced? My little aussie puppy is with me for almost two weeks now and I don't think I've ever cried so much tbh. He always starts biting and barking as soon as I play with him (especially in the evenings) it seems as if he's always just way too excited or stressed idk what it is. I've read countless articles, watched thousands of videos and still don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's not that he's the first dog I ever had either. I grew up with dogs and even if I was younger then, I don't remember it ever being like this before. I am also under constant pressure because I am afraid that if he doesn't learn now, he will bite or become aggressive as an adult dog

We get our second Aussie on Friday. :) We had an Aussie for 10 years and had to say goodbye to her a little over a year ago. We miss our Lucy girl so much, but I know that she will be smiling down on her new little sister from doggy heaven. Frankie is such a handsome boy! Thanks for sharing!

I miss my mini Cooper lost him, he was 14 weeks old. Went to a friend's house and he caught parvo and to find out our book from the vet said we had all his shots up to date. But no he was 1 left for parvo in their books. I'm not happy but seeing your puppy puts me in a good mood

Frankie was so calm when he was little. Okay I saw that ear accident but my Border Collie is a supersonic puppy. She is vocal , bites a lot , runs a lot, chews on everything... Like puppy stuff. But Frankie looked so calm 🥺

Ok - so now I'm sad LOL ... ok - warning - bit of a jaw-wag to follow LOL
Kick-kick joined me as soon as he could leave his mom and, for the next 16 and a half years was my best bud and partner in crime. He went home in late Dec '20 ... the hole is still deep. When my wife died, I really needed something in the house that reacted when I spoke LOL so I went looking for a pup - visited several breeders, went to shows, talked to a LOT of folks, read a LOT and settled on an Aussie.
Why an Aussie?! Well, let's see - just a quick thought ... intelligent, medium-sized, high energy, family oriented and participative, protective, living to please his master, great in obedience, great in agility ... WOW - a dog-person's dog for sure!! HA! I found a VERY good and reputable breeder ... WAY on the other side of Houston, btw HA HA!
So, what's in a name?! I played around with names - was going to make his registered name something like "Sidekick for Kicker" (which he surely was) and, when I told one of my little sisters, she chuckled and said, "HEY! That's great - his call name can be 'Kick-kick!' ..." ... the name of my teddy bear when I was a child. He joined me when I was born (so I'm told) - and he's still around, usually spending Christmas under the tree - but it tickled, and sort of touched me, that my little sister would remember the name of MY teddy bear (which I'm sure she hadn't thought of for 30 or more years). So he became Kick-kick .... "Stinker" - or "Stinkybinger" - or "goofball" for short LOL
AAAaaanyway, thanks for making the vids - just ran across this one today ... Kick-kick was a standard - not a mini - but, from watching you and Frankie, I'm sure either would bring the same adventure into one's life! A fun and sad watch - thanks!

Absolutely loved this video. I have to admit it made me tear up thinking about my best friend, Owen, when I got him at 8 weeks old. It made me sad because I lost him a year ago and life hasn’t been the same since then. Thanks for the smiles and also for making me think about those puppy times with my boy.

My husband and I adopted an Aussie 10 days ago and it’s great to see what it was like for you. That comment about mental health really resonated with me: my anxiety about other stuff really decreased because there is this tiny living creature that I need to take care of, and it’s grounds me into the present. Oh my GOSH, the cuteness from this video!! If I had a cuteness meter it would have broken 1 million times over! This whole video was my favourite part! I wish I could have a mini aussi but it's not the right dog for us. I don't even know if we're ready to get our own pupper yet. this is so cute and so sweet, you def approached new puppyhood well when he's made mistakes or not felt well (instead of feeling upset with him). I work at a vet clinic and that's a huge mistake a lot of new pet owners tend to make ! You can already see how much he loved you in those first days too !

This is it! This is exactly how I've been feeling ever since I got my puppy. I can't believe that he'll be 7 months old, he was so little when he first came home. I love him so much and he has helped me a lot, especially during these pandemic times. My mental health wasn't that good before him, I was so anxious and I would worry about everything. Now that I have to take care a of a dog - a living beşng that depends on me, I realized that a lot of other things didn't matter at all.

I feel that it is a lot to live up to when you say "my new best friend". But somehow, dogs never let us down when it comes to love and loyalty. Providing we show them love and loyalty (and sometimes even when people don't). Dogs are the best.
