Los Angeles is a complete hell hole, traffic is brutal and the drivers are rude.
Cost of living is astronomically high and unsustainable. On the plus side the city has a diverse population an you never run out of things to do but many Californians I spoke to complain about taxes, regulations and the cost of living.
Chasing your dreams and wanting to achieve them is awesome but Los Angeles is on an unsustainable path when it comes to disparities in wealth. I really didn't see much of a vibrant middle class there just really rich people or people working service jobs striving to become Actors, writers or whatever. Even the rent controlled apartments are expensive. All the best.

Lol I know what you mean about the pics I started searching in March and paused because it was starting to become waayy too stressful I already have a stressful job don’t need stress in my free time. I’ve been staying in a hotel paying 2200 for a tiny studio. I finally resumed my search this month and found the perfect place today I filled out the application paid the fee plus the holding fee now just waiting to hear back if I’m approved 🤞🏾. This place almost had all the amenities I wanted (no in unit washer/dryer), location is perfect, plus it’s well within my budget.

Yes it can be stressful for sure! Did you end up getting the place you want?

I’ve been looking for a place in LA for almost a year (1 year in May, my budget is $1,100 per month but I come with a 10 year old cat), I’ve been watching your vids for months. I do a lot of research bc LA is notorious for apt scammers. You hit a lot of things I didn’t think of, I subscribed :)

Thanks for your support! Out of curiosity, why has it taken you a year?

Thank you for your reply :) Okie dokes so this is a long one.. I was going to go last June but the week I left to LA even though my family and friends were aware a month ahead I was leaving... guilted me into coming back. After I already spent $2500 on a deposit and 1st month rent for a cat-friendly room in Pico Robertson. Well, I did return after a week. Then, I was going to go in December (had purchased the ticket months ahead) but the month before my online job issued a new policy that none of their employees can work out of state for employee comp reasons, or risk getting fired. And my job is AWESOME, I don't want to risk losing it. Comes with 401k, salaried, benefits, etc. the works. So I am now looking for another way to sneak into LA without letting anyone know, not my family or friends or job. I purchased IP address changing software and I plan on leaving again ...but I'm not giving anyone warning this time. Lest they guilt me to stay where I continue to feel out of place. Where I come from I feel I am being held from reaching my full potential ...and that the only reason people want me to stay is because it's easier to use me when I'm nearby haha I had already been guilted in handing over so much money (around $10k this past year, yeah a LOT), which is why it's taking so long for me to save up. It doesn't matter if I say no, I can say it 5 or 10 or 20 times, the people I surround myself with will continue and continue until I break because I always do. It's just a shame those people are family, and they never used to care about me until I got this job lol it's weird what having money will do to change people's minds.

@@ocachisu Personaly I totally agree with you.I was in the same boat and after all when I realised all this doggy, crappy friendship dropped them all! Better to be alone than live in this kind of bullshit like this.

The proof of income thing, I came to this video to know how to avoid it not to have to go to a website lol.

I never that's what the video was about though ;) Getting an apartment with no proof of income is a big topic, there's no way it could have been a part of this video without the video being way too long.

You can use google maps or street view to see houses without pictures if the rent is a bargain you can't pass up on

Yeah, but it's not so much the outside that's the problem. I've been to a lot of places that look great from the outside but are terrible on the inside :(
