I am 65 and adjusting products to look my best, right along with you!!! I had a good week..the clips you see are me at Marshalls, Target and Meijer. I had a blast taking your questions on Instagram. I also chat with you about my visit with Bill last Sunday and how hard that was on my heart.

Susan, I do believe the same woman preacher that married you and Bill married my daughter and her husband. Oh my goodness, she went on and on and on....it was so long the little 4 year old flower girl started plucking the petals from her bouquet and turning in circles...😂. If it wasn’t for her entertainment I do believe I would of fell asleep. The blouse looks beautiful on you. When speaking of Bill and his Alzheimer’s I could so relate...my mother died from it, but hers was a slow progression and she had it over 10 years. It would amaze me at the things she could remember and the things she didn’t. I could always comfort her by playing the songs she and dad loved when they were dating. She used to live behind me for 15 years in a little white cabin type house across the creek and she would tell me, while living there that she loved that little house more than any of the finer homes she ever had. In the last year of her life I asked her if she remembered the little house she lived in behind me and she had no recollection at all. But, she could still quote Bible scriptures! My sisters and I used to say to each other...satan gave her a horrible sickness but God still reigns in her mind! ❤️

Yes, Lorrie Morgans song is amazing. Alzheimer's is such a devastating illness. It has been 2 years since my father-n-law passed with it. He hung on as long as he could. Out of his 5 kids, I became the one that he related too, his daughter-n-law. We were never super close over the 40 years I have been married to his son but for some reason he became attached to me . He would listen to me when he would not anyone else. I will cherish those moments forever. I gave his eulogy and for a shy person who doesn't speak to crowds, it was something I felt I needed to do. Thanks so much for sharing your life....

So, I just watched this video that was posted on February 21, my 71st birthday. Everything was going well until the end when you spoke of visiting your ex-husband. You see, I'm now the full time caregiver for my husband who has severe dementia as a result of a stroke. Your description of your wedding so hit home with me, as my husband has no memory of our wedding day 43 years ago. You touched me with your memories and description. Your honesty and heartfelt feelings spoke to me. I guess that's what attracted me to your channel before I even knew your story. Blessings.

I have a family member who is like a brother to me with dementia as well as brain trauma from a stroke and fall. He's been in a nursing home for almost 5 years and because it's pretty far away, we only get there once a week. He's able to speak in both English and Spanish but it's mostly mumbling and doesn't always make sense. A few months ago, his roommate's wife showed us pictures of her new grandson and my "brother" looked at the photo and cried. We had not seen this show of emotion in years and we were stunned. Last week, she brought the baby in and yes, he's adorable and very sweet around people. We were all playing and suddenly, as clear as a bell, my "brother" said, "How old is he?" Again, we were all so moved by his clarity. This disease takes us all on a journey; let's hold on to whatever our loved one can give us while they're here. Thanks so much.

My mother died of Lewy Body dementia last year. It is so difficult to see someone who was full of life become a different person, but it was an opportunity for compassion and caring. She declined quickly though, which I guess was a blessing.

I lost my dad to Alzheimer's in July of 2018 and I have an uncle who is currently struggling with Lewy Body dementia, and it is so cruel what those illnesses do to people. It's heartbreaking. Anyway, again, thank you for posting such lovely videos. You are such a beautiful spirit, your kindness and sincerity truly comes through the camera. 🌈💖

Just a quick tip. I purchased the Ordinary Rose hip oil and my face did NOT like it but I didn’t want to be wasteful so I started using it on my chest and breasts. Oh my goodness! In just a couple of months of daily use stretch marks have faded and firmness is returning! I may start bathing in this stuff. So if something doesn’t work on your face don’t write it off, try it on another body part

Hi Susan, I think the gift of the camera is perfect...and sweet, too. It's very thoughtful. I agree...navy and pink are great...and so are olive and pink! Love those colors together. I love the Lancome foundation, too. I could not use the Stila...the color did oxidize on me. I got a sample of the Estee Lauder Futurist Foundation...and fell in love. I promised myself no new makeup buys, but I had a gift card, so I used it. I didn't buy it...someone else did for me! Now, I have two favorites! Little Desi is quite the enjoyable character !!!! He doesn't like to smile at the camera for us, but somehow seems to know we love & enjoy him. So he stretches and sleeps all cozy behind you while you film for us. He let's us see him..but on his terms LOL !!!! ❤ He looks so very handsome in his St. Pat's Day bow :))
The harmonica you showed, reminds me so much of my dad. He really knew how to play it. I don't know whatever happened to it, but sure would love to have it. I do have an old wood pipe he used to smoke cherry tobacco in. It still has a faint scent of cherry from all those decades ago.
I'm sorry Bill isn't remembering as much now. Visiting will quite often be more difficult for you now as his good days come less often. He will still know you're there and how you love him. But more importantly. You will know you're there for him, which will be a comfort for you later my sweet friend.

Hi Susan. I really enjoyed this video.. as I do all your videos. I look forward to getting home from work Friday nights , taking a quick shower and then watching you share your feelings and your week and special findings. I also bought the night cream from Italy after you told us about it. I can't use it every night though cause sometimes my skin seems more sensitive if that makes any sense. I also can't really wear a foundation either. Thank you for your favorites though. It's so nice that you go and see Billy. Everytime you talk about him I just smile . I think that is so nice of you and you will always remember that you did go see him, and it will bring a good feeling to you. If you ever want to do something different when you go visit him maybe you can get like a child's puzzle with the real big pieces the big wood pieces. I used to sit with an elderly woman who also had Alzheimers and I would pick up puzzles here and there and I'd make her put the pieces in and she really seemed to enjoy it. we wouldn't always be able to have conversation I would do most of the talking and she would just listen and look at me but still makes me feel really good inside when I think of all the things that I did do with her. My Mom also developed dementia the last 3 years of her life but the only thing she seemed to forget was the condo she was living in. She would call us to pick her up from “that ladies house” so she could go home. One caretaker moved some photos around and my Mom was totally confused. I put everything back into place and she relaxed.

It is so hard to visit, but one thing I've read is that he will always recognize family-unlike with Alzheimers. I have peace in knowing that. I had a birthday yesterday and I am happy to celebrate another year. Desi is a doll as usual. I’ve been using the Nutri C for about 2 Weeks. Like it a lot. My Mom had dementia and its such a brutal disease
. My once beautiful very smart Mother was in a nursing home and other then her beautiful eyes was no longer someone I recognized but I am so thankful for memories and I know I will see her again. Nothing is as important as our health.If you have that you have it all, that and the love of our pets. lol xoCathy

My mother developed Lewy Body dementia after a stroke. It wasn't all terrible, though. She had audio and visual hallucinations. She heard beautiful music and had little people she called "minikins" keeping her company after my dad passed. They were her guardian angels. It's funny, the little people didn't follow her to the nursing home where she spent the last four months of her life. I've always wondered if they were hallucinations or if she was seeing into a different spiritual realm. One that provided comfort.

That is so sad Susan, about Bill not remembering. My ex has alzheimer's which is sad and tough for my 20s girls. My youngest told me his last medical showed no deterioration recently but at xmas he was wrapping up everything in the house and give his daughters his gloves as a present. The deer, Bill's description of a fly fisherman and your equating it to Alzheimer's oh, and of course that Lorrie Morgan song. Its meaning wasn't lost on me; I know you'll have to finish it someday. There is no doubt in my mind that you would have to go looking for that last dress because everything you have in life is so colorful and beautiful. I’m so glad I found your channel. You’ve inspired me towards taking positive steps in caring for my appearance. I lost my husband to cancer 6 years ago. Grief has certainly taken a toll on my face. I hardly recognize myself. I’m 59 and hope I haven’t waited too long in making a difference in how I look and feel. You’re such an inspiration. Thank you!

Oh my heart and bless yours and Bill's. I went through a lot of Kleenex just now. I was hugging you In thought and spirit. Your videos are exquisite and so beautiful. Heartfelt, funny and sad all at once. Thank you for sharing your life with us and thank you for showing me how to take care of my skin better. I have some of the snail serum. It kind of grosses me out, but I'm not sure I see a difference, so I am going to go to Ulta tomorrow and get the cream one. I will feel better about that. I also joined Boxycharm again. I just love the products they send every month. Anyway, I learn a lot from you, you make me think of things that I have pushed away. My heart goes out to you Susan. You are such a giving, loving and generous person. You bring good karma to yourself. God sees too. I wish I could meet you in person. I take care of a sick parent, my mom. Before that my dad who passed away in 2014. He waited for me, before he took his last breath. He saw me Into this world and take my first breath of life and I saw him out when he took his last. Bittersweet they say. I lost my best friend. My weekend partner in crime. We used to hit every thrift store and then go have lunch where my mom worked at the time and she would steal and eat his tomatoes! It was a ritual every weekend. My dad would point out things to take pictures of as I'm a photographer. I took pictures of him instead. It must of been fate. He was the glue that held everything together and it all fell apart when he left this world. What pressure he must of felt being that glue, the person that was responsible for everyone being happy. I hate to think what that did too him and my breath catches. I hope he is at peace and resting. He was so sick and in so much pain. He suffered until they put him in a comfort room with narcotics. I saw his tears then as he heard my mom cry. He could hear, but not open his eyes. But when he was going home? His eyes were open and the beautiful crystal clear blue eyes looked straight ahead and I often wondered what he saw? I thanked him for waiting for me and told him it was ok to go then and he took that struggled last breath. Even the nurse cried. How hard that must be for them too. I will never understand why we have to lose those we love and why they have to have such awful diseases. What are we supposed to learn from that? I know God is teaching us, but man the lessons are heartbreakingly hard.
You touch my heart so much...thank you so much for posing those questions....why...why..why must we see such suffering. Early on I told the nurse I prayed for God to take Bill and her face fell. She said " he still has good days....we love him and his wit" and I thought maybe what I think of as suffering is not? I get no answers....Bill is drifting away from now very quickly. He just sleeps.....your story I won't ever forget. xxoo Susan
@@LittlePoet I just adore you. And being there for your ex husband is the most beautiful and wonderful thing I have seen and heard. Not many people would do that unfortunately, and I'm hoping that this makes people think and be there for others. Life is fleeting. We tend to expect, take advantage or think nothing could happen, until one day it does. From the moment I lost my dad, I no longer take things for granted and I pay attention and give thanks for each and every moment. It makes me feel really good that my mom feels safe and content. Enjoying all her programs and things I bring her or do for her. She wasn't the greatest parent, neither were, but I would never let them be alone or without me during their time of need. I was clothed, fed and educated all my young life because of them. I am here now because of them, so I will be there now for my mom. Despite how tough things were . Thank you for all you do and for sharing it with us. You are beautiful.

Betsy Johnson sat next to me on a flight and she the most charming eclectic enjoyable passenger. We talked about her designs and the whimsy of her pieces. I just happened to be carrying a back pack of hers and she commented on how cute it was. This is how our conversation began! A real treat meeting her.

I love the Stila makeup too. It just depends on what a person’s skin is like. Everyone is different.
Last Sunday it was my mother-in-law's 104th birthday so we went with the children to see her in the dementia unit she lives in and while attempting to help her with her shirt collar she was fussing with, she tried to bite my hand. I thought, so this is what becomes of her and it made us all so sad, because she no longer knows us and her behaviour is so unlike the woman she was. I think we suffer more because we are aware. Your so kind to keep visiting Bill, just try to remember the good things about the man you had married. On a lighter note, I'm going to buy the snail serum and slap it on everywhere. :)) P.S., I bought the Soap and Glory foundation (love), but it's being discontinued at Target, so stock up!
