RitFit will be releasing the M1 2.0 soon. The 2.0 will feature quite a few upgrades that address some of the "I wish" points I made in this video. I do not know a release date or price point yet, but I will update this comment when I know. The Amazon Prime special pricing and then the clearance pricing that will follow on the 1.0 represent a really strong deal for anyone working on a tight budget. I'm assuming the 2.0 will come in at a higher price point, but if you don't mind spending more $, it might be worth the wait.
@@DarrellLangford Yep, they went to aluminum pulleys. They also changes some spacing around so you can use the Smith and the pulleys at the same time without the weights hitting each other. They lengthened the safety arms, but I still think they are too short. there are some other minor changes too that I can't remember off the top of my head, but for sure a nice overall upgrade. It's far more important to get something that will last than to get something that does a million things. $2k for the basic Force USA if you want a multi-function, or a lot less than that on a standard rack, bar, and some weights will get you a better gym in the long run.
@@GymCrafterwow! I have not decided with m1 vs major fitness b52. Are you saying m1 is the better choice? I can’t find any direct comparison. Great video btw.
It looks like a decent power rack. However, Rit Fit should make a dip and push-up attachment for its M1 Mult-function Smith Machine. It can already be used for pull-ups, chin-ups, and inverted bodyweight rows. You can make the bar thicker by splitting a foam pool noodle and wrapping it around whatever section of the bar you want to do pull-ups on with black duct tape. If you have two plyo boxes, you can use it for belt squats using the bar for enhanced safety and balance.
@@HughLeFitness Thanks. I'm glad you saw that it is an all in one that I reviewed, not a standard rack. A lot of the comments are comparing it to standard 4 post racks at the same price. Hey Tim, love the reviews, I’m looking to buy a smith machine ( originally was going to get the b52 but saw your other review). I wanted to know what was the top of the line choice for a smith machine I could get for my budget of $2000, would really appreciate some feedback thank you
@@skulltrooper7337 Thanks. I certainly haven't tried all of them, but I have a couple of overall thoughts... RitFit will be introducing an M1 2.0 soon. I've seen the list of upgrades (aluminum pulleys is the most notable) and I think that would be a great choice. The Smith on the M1 is surprisingly good for the price point. Titan makes a Smith machine (no cables or rack) for a bit over your price point which is also really good. The Vesta SM-1001 might be something to look at as well. If you aren't in a hurry, people in the home gym industry are calling this "the year of the Smith machine" and pretty much everyone is coming out with something.
