The majority of them are running Chrysler 426 race Hemis some that are probably stroked but these are the old design race Hemis that are much different than the modern Hemi that's used in the top fuel nitro dragster and funny cars now . The modern Hemi that runs now in those classes can only be 500 cubic inch engines max because of the new rule change made & these new Hemi engines are all solid billet engine blocks and heads that are making north of 10,000 HP now . NHRA actually shortened that tracks from the well known standard 1,320 ft which is a 1/4 mile & took it down to 1,000 ft now because the new top fuel nitro cars keep going quicker and faster every few years & NHRA did this to try and slow the cars down for safety reasons although it's been already proved it hasn't really done much good because the new top fuel nitro cars keep breaking & setting new ET and MPH records just about every year or 2 .
In Funny Car Chaos you'll find a little bit of just about everything. Chrysler HEMIs, small block and big block Chevys plus many different combinations. One example is Jade Cook with centrifugal supercharged setup. FCC is not a nostalgia series either though you'll see many nostalgic floppers. It just has to be a piston powered flop top car to compete.
